Arimidex, ah, yes....
has anyone read, I mean really read the list of SE's. When my doc got SO mad at me cuz I didn't call at the 3 momth point when my hands went so numb I couldn't use them AND they still hurt like anything - and he said :"didn't you read the warnings, and when to call, etc." Well, damn - there was PAGES & PAGES of them...
anyhooooooooooo...my favorite is, the MAIN, one ASTHENIA.
Someone on the wonder A Se's thread - when I posted the defiition ( from wikipedia of course) said, no way - it was really : "Greek for feels like crap."
-
I just pm'd Alamik - to make sure she was ok with it
She seems fine ;-)))))))))I get so angry, confused, whatever, when people are so hurt for no reason -
Bren - did your granny tell you that too

-
I took a month off around my surgery date and felt GREAT! Only 1 more year to go I hope.
-
Nah .. I was hugging you cause somebody on that locked thread was mean to you.
Bren
-
Night all .. time to call it a day.
hugs,
Bren

thanks bren,
I'm off to dreamland too..this is really late for me. Happy dreams everyone!

happy dreams!

thanks all for the support of the weight loss. Gaining 30 lbs has been such a weight on my shoulders so to speak - I couldn't like myself so I surely wasn't going to like anyone around me.
I just got back from a 6.5 mile hike. Typically that would be no biggie except for over 3 miles of that was straight uphill. My legs are like rubber now.
Blue - yes I got the PM I asked for and then.........if you can believe it a pm that I DIDN'T ask for from someone that shall remain anonymous but was telling me that I didn't need to go to that thread unless I was looking for trouble or something of that nature. I am sure you can figure that one out.

Wow, I have to start staying up later to watch the various train wrecks that seem to happen each night. So here I am wide awake at 4 AM. Ugh. I hate this stupid insomnia. Doesn't happen often but always happens at times I can least afford it.
DH's band is playing at a beach bar tonight (as I mentioned earlier) and I had planned to stay all night until they finish at 11 but not now, since I woke up at 3AM. Drat.
Hope the day is better than the night.
-
Hey girls - I just discovered any email from bco is going to my spam box - something I don't check very often.
Dinner was my homemade pizza - pepperoni and pineapple for me and pepperoni, onion, mushrooms, olives and sundried tomatoes for DH. Followed by those individual blackberry pies and cream. Oh and a splash of NZ Sav Blanc. Sometimes I like Thursday's to be a night off from cooking a proper dinner.
Barbara - I sympathise - not nice to sleepless at that time of the night/day.

My point is, Barbara, I hope you finally got some rest but I can understand your disturbed feeling.
There is something fundamentally wrong being tolerated here due to, IMO, misguided compassion. BCO is lowering its standards as a result. The problem is that in pleasing people you can hurt many, many more. The mods need to step in more forcefully but they don't want to alienate anyone. I find that hard to comprehend, but then I'm not a fan of playing nice. I'm a fan of playing fair and showing compassion where it really needs to go - to all of those women who innocently post only to have their heads bitten off or be told to go elsewhere.
ETA again: IMO the mods have worked double time on this and are making some excellent decisions for us all. Not easy to be in their shoes, and they probably have a much wider perspective than any of us.

Excellent post Athena!!! I have recommended this site to so many people..... but I also warn them about some information that can be confusing, conjecture, and unproven...... to say the least. I want them to have the positive and supportive experience that I had when I became a member.
-
Good Morning!
I also recommend this site to others. Usually when I get my mammogram at the breast center. I don't worry that anyone I recommend here will be upset or find threads with anger in them. Most new gals are pretty much focused on their diagnostics and treatment plans. They aren't down in the moving on threads yet.
As far as the holistic/Alt threads are concerned, if a new person is searching for alt methods of treatment, then some controversy will probably be expected on this site, as most have conventional treatment first. It's been my experience on this site that very few women search for alt only treatment when they have first been diagnosed.
Hope everyone has a great Thursday ... the temp dropped a few degrees so I will mow my big field today! Yippee .. I'm actually going outside today!

It was so hot here the other day that my grandchildren and I (he's 7, she's 22 months) set up a "campsite" in the basement with a tent, marshmallows, a "windstorm" with a fan and a "beach" in the bathtub down there. After grape popsicles, the little one needed to go to the beach and splash a bit.
-
Lassie....what a great idea! All you need is some sand. ;-)
-
Lassie .. sounds like a wonderful day and lots of fun for the grandkids!
-
Good Morning Bren!! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Morning,...thinking of HappyLibby - today is 7/14, I think? Calendars remind me of dictionaries in a way, how to look up a word I can't spell? How to figure out what day today is by looking at a calendar? Being, well, ok, I can say it now, retired, lazy, no schedules, is, well, interesting

I was thinking maybe it's time to start a NEW thread in the Alt/Comp/holistic Forum, similar to SusieQ's - but for INFORMATION on Complimentary/Integrative Approach to Healing...
Off to pick sugar snap peas, before the sun heats them up. Still waiting for sungold tomatoes to turn yellow. BTW, asking little green tomatoes to turn yellow doesn't seem to spped things up.
Peaseful day to all. Gorgeous sunshine here, so far....cs
-
Thanks, CS ... I don't have anything scheduled for today (was going to see the useless onc, but saw him last week and won't be seeing him again!) However, today just might be the day I get surgery schedule, so ... stay tuned, fellow travelers!

Oh, HL, it's my crs ( can't remember stuff, cleaned it up) at work again. NOW, I remember - thank goodness you showed that one the door. Also lovely you have a PCP you can rely on.
Surgery will be fine. Really. I think there's something about all the worrying we do b4, it's like putting $$$ in the bank, and the "interest" we earn, is having the event be easier/better than expected.
-
LOL Sunflowers ... I have been telling my tomatoes they need to hurry up every day too. Not working here either.
I hear you about the days when you are retired ... and holidays too. Hubby's part time job helps me keep track but I really think those 'Day of the Week' clocks are cute ... tightwad nature won't pay that much for a joke but if I catch a good sale I'm all over it.
Temperature here is 68 this morning. Beautiful ... sat out on the deck with my coffee and watched the dogs play. It's been too hot for them to play so they have been making up for lost time.
Lassie ... very creative!
Bren ... hope you can get done with the mowing before it heats back up.
Barbara ... those sleepless nights are the pits. Hope maybe you can get a nap in sometime so you can still enjoy your evening.
Hope everybody has a good day!
Edited to 'wave hello' to Libby who checked in while I was typing.
-
CS,
I think it is a great idea to start a new thread. I am wondering if you can specify it is for information, not cartoons and inspirational sayings.
I have been getting raked over the coals on the other thread, and will not post there anymore. Some people are rude.
How is the heat where everyone is? I am in Israel where we work and it has been very, very, hot here also. I go back to Chicago in mid July and hope it is cooler than.
Everybody, keep cool.
-
It is simply an exquisite morning here. Because my daughter lives in the Lake Tahoe area, I call the blue sky we have today a "Tahoe sky". We only get about 5 of these a year! Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
-
Welcome motherofoursons. You get used to being raked over the coals and after a while it really doesn't matter anymore. You have to have a thick skin but it gets thicker everytime you read some of the comments. If you feel comfy here, put up your feet and join us.
-
Welcom motheroffoursons. Your contributions on that thread were good in MHO.
-
I am looking forward to September. It's just too hot for me. I don't like it when the overnight lows barely go below what I have the air conditioning set at. Give me overnight temps in the 50's and low 60's so that I can open the windows wide and breath!
We have had several tomatoes, but had to do some pollinating as we were getting lots of flowers, and little fruit. Asked an expert, and he said because of all of the rain and the high humidity, pollination in this area is not good right now. Finally, have some fruit on my German Queen, which is my favorite.
Hoping you get your surgery date scheduled today, Libby. It just seems to be so much better when our treatment plan is set.
Waving at motheroffoursons! Welcome, and may you enjoy your stay here!

I wonder if the bees dying out for some reason we don't understand yet has something to do with the food not being pollinated as well.
-
If the bees die off, we can kiss our butts good-bye!
-
I agree bluedahlia.
-
The bee thing is not all just hype either. We had several honey bee hives in the same areas around us for years and most of them are gone now. Mostly just see hornets and bumble bees now.
