I'm good with the 6th.
-
Checking in from Winter Haven!
-
I think the 6th would be fine for me.
kira1234, I live just outside Lakeland. We're probably on the same schedule. I go back to work on Aug 8th, and the kids start on the following Mon. The last school year was a blur, I'm really thankful to have this summer to recover a bit.
-
We will post pix! Everyone else chime in!! I plan to not only have lunch but take in the Dali museum so if anyone else is game, holler.
-
I'd be up for that. Its a good way to walk off the calories!
-
Cool. Let's decide where. Search for moon under water, ceviche, frescos, Columbia on the st Pete pier, Bella brava. Those are enough choices and all are good. vote here!
-
I'm game as well.
-
Hey, I'm in St Pete, maybe I'll catch up with everyone! I'll keep watching as the plans are finalized. Sounds like fun.
-
Let's plan on the 6th, then. OK, everyone, go check out the restaurants and we'll vote. I vote Bella Brava, since I haven't been there since they moved to Beach Dr. So after lunch, Kira and I are going to the Dali. Anyone else is welcome.
-
Bella Brava is good with me and it is easy to find since it is on the corner I believe.
-
Bella Brava sounds good to me. So let plan a time to meet up. I'm thinking of staying at a motel Sat. night. Anyone have a good suggestion?
-
Yes, it is on the corner of Beach Dr and Second Ave. N. There is 2 hour parking meters all around it so shuld be easy parking. Then we can head to the Dali, which is 5-6 blocks away.
-
Heh mccrimmon !
Just looked at your profile....I'm a triple neg too here in Punta Gorda. Hope all is well with you and everyone else out there. Would like to do the Tampa thing as well but not sure of my schedule. Have been unemployed (company moved to California) and am considering going back to school for phlebotomy or something in the medical field...at my age...ughhhh....haven't hit the lottery yet so have to do something. Smiles and hugs to all....

Hey Punkinfish,
Would love to do a get together, unfortunately I'm still going thru Chemo so have to be picky with my schedule, Tampa sounds like fun. Yes, I'm TN too, did you have to go thru Chemo?
-
Next get together is in St Pete at Bella Brava on Aug. 6. We will have lunch and (optionally) visit the Dali Museum. PM me for details.
-
Barbara have we decided on a time yet
-
Does 11:30 sound good? I can be there any time.
-
Tha sounds like a good time.
-
Hey Mccrimmon,
oh yeah, I did chemo too....my last was Oct. '07. I'm doing great now. Do you get your treatments at Fl. Cancer in P.C.? My daughter is a chemo nurse their and you may actually know her. Her name is Heather. How many treatments have you had and what are you getting? I hope you're doing well with it 'cause I know the AC I had kicked my butt. Everyone is different tho. Hang in there !!
Marilyn
-
Punkinfish/Marilyn,
Yep, I do go to the cancer center in PC - have Dr. Lobo, love him!! I've heard the name Heather there a few times but don't know which nurse she is. That's funny, my name is also Heather and that's why it's stood out. My next treatment is Thursday, I'll have to ask if she's in. I'm doing TAC, Taxotere & AC x 6 - only had two so far, not so bad but considering before it started I was envisioning 6 months of constant nauseas, the works... I hear it gets worse with each treatment though. Glad to hear your doing well, it's bad enough that we all have BC but I hate that they don't really know too much on TNBC.
-
Mccrimmon/Heather,
Wow, I spoke to my daughter, Heather, and she says she has seen you there. She doesn't give you treatments, I think she said Tammy did? My Heather has shoulder length reddish brown hair. She won't be there Thursday as she and her hubby are going away for the weekend for her birthday. She's the best thing I've ever done and I'm as proud as can be of her. I did AC x 4 and Taxol x 4. The AC was hard for me....the Taxol, except for some leg aches, was a breeze compared to the AC. I sure hope they find out more about the TN. It seems like it's getting more attention so hopefully they will. It all stinks.....
Yeah, I've heard Dr. Lobo is pretty cool. Heather speaks highly of him. You're getting great care and the most up-to-date also. How often are your treatments? Next time you're there and my Heather is there, I'll have her tell ya hi from me and also to give you a high five !!
Marilyn
-
Mariyn,
So far the treatments haven't been too bad but I understand they are cumlative so I expect the worse each time. Yes, Tammy is the one that treats me there and I cal myself Elaine Benice (from Sienfeld) I must have the same type of dr file. I think my anxiety is so high and I'm so freaked out everytime I go I think I drive everyone crazy. I'm surprised they don't scatter. LOL I have to admit both my hubby and me are very impressed with the way the cancer center is run. I think all drs should take lessons.
-
punkinfish/Marilyn, Your daughter gave me your High Five today and introduced herself. She is a very nice girl, it was really nice of her to introduce herself to me like that, made my day! #3 down, 3 to go. Not forward to feeling sick this weekend but everyday gets me closer to the finish.
-
Mcrimmon/Heather,
You're half way there !! Excellent!! Yes, Heather told me she saw you and introduced herself. Very cool. I thought she had the whole day off but was there till 3. They're in the Keys now, doing a snorkeling trip...sounds like fun but I can't even swim...and of course I'll worry about them till they are home. I hope you don't feel bad this weekend. You are looking at the other side of the treatments now..you're getting there and will be done before you know it. Hang in there. Thinking of you and wishing you all good things.
-
punkin, did they take the Ft Myers Key West Express? I have wanted to do that for some time.
-
BarbaraA,
Heh !! No, they drove down...4 1/2 hr drive from Punta Gorda to where they're at...upper Keys. But I've heard the Key West Express is pretty cool tho I've never done it either. Sounds like a big party going down and coming back and that sure beats that drive. Anymore I'd rather take a beating than be in the car that long.

I'm a gonna do it one of these days. I love staying at the Ambrosia Inn. Great rooms with breakfast. And two blocks from Duval. Perfect location.
-
Thanks Barbara we are staying at a different place we found. DH and the kids are coming down as well. We are going to stay a couple of days and just relax at a condo we rented.
