Thank you to all of you who have prayed for me and posted encouraging thoughts on this thread. I haven't been active on this site for quite awhile...
Turns out that I had 3 broken ribs... Thank you radiation... But they saw a small hot spot in my neck. It was 5mm hot lymph node with no enlargement of the node.
The final opinion from Boston and MDA is that it was probably a reactive lymph node that they saw on the PET because I had recently had a really bad head cold...Their recommendation (which I followed) was to wait 2 months and be rescanned to see if it has grown. Well, two months is here... I go to MDA for my follow up scan in less than a week. Needless to say, my anxiety is at an all time high. To top it all off, my reconstruction in NOLA is scheduled for the very next week. Can you say CRAZY????
Please keep me in your prayers. In my heart I feel like I'm OK. I don't have any symptoms or palpable masses (and I have the nasty aggressive triple negative) I heard God tell me that I was going to be OK. Now the hard part - Put aside my fears and doubts... Hard but not impossible?
-
Hi Brandy, It's so reassuring to hear the experts say it's "Probably" just a reactive node. I wish your anxiety were easier to control, but I know mine isn't, so no advice here. On the good side, the recon at NOLA is pretty good as distractions go. I hope it goes very well and that you can really put aside the fears and doubts. May the follow up scan be clear. We'll be waiting to hear. Hugs, G.

Wishing and praying for the best for your rescan. I have major anxiety too. Any chance you have tried an RX to get you through this tough time? They work wonders. I will be thinking of you and praying for you!
-

Chiming in with prayers for your journey in the coming weeks.

Strength and courage.
Strength and courage.
Strength and courage.
And pharmalogical back-up when prayers aren't quite enough.
Consider yourself hugged.
Anyone who asks for prayers needs to know they are indeed receiving prayer support.
