Okay friends .. it's a freakin' hot day today.  The heat index is at 116 here.  I'm melting!

Athena ... what account are you talking about?

Scroll down the list of forums and stop at the second from last one. Read through the thread I started there today until you get to the post closest to the one I wrote just above with my interjection. That's all I care to say, cryptic as I sound. I've asked the mods to delete the thread. Now that the question was answered, no need for yet another ruckus to break out on BCO. Honestly, the mods can't be that easily fooled, surely?! Were they sweet talked into not expelling?

Maybe ... I remember one time I lost my temper on this site and the mods were kind enough to give me a second chance.

Once, Bren, perhaps. Once (and I don't recall seeing any angry post from you). But what if you had been deleted dozons of times? And what if several threads had been shut down on your account?

Excellent news: the mods will leave the thread up but have disabled the capability to post new comments. New Ruckus prevented - hopefully.

Okay .. yep .. Athena, it was a very long time ago, about 3 1/2 years on an old thread that's no longer in use.  Tempers were flying and mine went straight out the window!

Just so the mods don't lock this thread .. I'm okay with locking the other one for further comments.

Barbara .. I know 101 heat index is hot for you down there .. but do you at least have a breeze?

Bren - you are allowed to get angry once in a while - lol! You are too sweet to cause a ruckus, though.

When I left this house at 10:30 this morning, my glasses fogged up. Just like when you open the dishwasher door or pour the boiling water off the pasta. Wasn't much better when I came back. It got very dark and thundered a lot about 30 mins. ago. I just went out and the temp must have dropped 15 degrees, gentle breeze and practically no humidity. What a welcome change!

Doing Rosemary's chicken for supper tonight. Think I'll use balsamic. Sounds great and easy.

I love the idea of the thread lock feature. Great job, mods.

That comment was just another attempt to get everybody all in a fuss.  Phasers on ignore.

The vast majority of threads on this board are supportive, informative, helpful and friendly.  The dramas just get a lot of attention for awhile.  The mods are doing much better at putting out the fires these days.

I think we've made it clear that anybody who wants to post here in a friendly manner and join the crowd is more than welcome.  If the only reason to appear is to try to disrupt that is a whole different ballgame.

Speaking of hot ... it is hideously hot and humid here too.  I think we are getting some relief tomorrow ... will be nice to be able to stick my head out the door without gasping.

Kira .. the humidity here makes it hard to breathe!  I miss the weather in San Diego.  Nice moderate temps and a cool ocean breeze!  I wish I was on the beach with my grands today .. sigh.

Actually, it is cooler where I live in summer than DC is in summer. It has never gone above 95 since I have lived here.

I see you're in one of the southern states too BinVa. Good way to describe it, hard to breath, it hits you in the face when you step out the door.

Barbara, Do you live near the water? Where we are we don't get the ocean breeze.

Alpal - your glasses fogged?  Now that is steamy.  Here in the Hilltowns of wetern Ma, just before you get to the Berkshires, it is very rural, no street lights, dirt roads and elevation - trees, so it is cool. But then I lived ina  small house in Bethesda MD, just outside Washington DC for years & even tho the hosue HAD central airconditioning - I never used it.  Put in a ceiling fan, and kep the windows open.  Being in air conditioning makes me feel like I'm in a cage. Strange, I know- but I love the breeze and actually experiencing each season.

One of the things I love about being back in New England ( I'm from CT) is the 4 seasons. That doesn't include Boston.  When I lived there for a few years, I asked someone, this was back in the 1960's if I'd need airconditioning?  Answer: "Only if you want to breathe."  tee, hee..

I'm sure I'm imagining things but I have been inside almost all day and still feel the heaviness of the weather. Could that be so? We have an air quality alert today - "code orange." I don't have allergies, asthma, anything like that....

Power yoga today is going to have to be in my mind only. I think I'll wake up at 5:30 am and do an early class.

If the BCO B&G wants to open early for happy hour, I'm game.  Wink

TV just said it's 72 here. I'm opening the windows! It was 90 at midnight. Glorious and it still hasn't rained. It's sure rained somewhere.

Ooohh...Athena, I remember all those coded air warnings when I was there  always wondered what we were supposed to do in a Code Red?  Stop breathing?

Wise not to do PY in this weather - I think the air pollution seeps indoors no matter what we do.

Ice Water for the Lion!  Comin' up?  Next? Salt & Vinegar chips?
