June- good to see you. Sorry to hear about your somach! How is everyone else feeling these days? I think I am overdoing it again...feel exhausted today....might be the physio, the dragon boating or the cardiac-cardio(my new name for it) or the 40 hours of work...don't think I should be playing this hard if this is how tired I feel, hmm? tomorrow is a low grade day.....another teacher training course starting monday so hopefully it will go well and hey will be an easy to work with group...
hugs to all
-
oh yeah...and i had time to actually talk to some of the dragonboat gals....one is 17 years post surgery ( she had her second bout 5 years ago and is still going strong/)...she was pre-tamoxifen and managed to keep it away for 12 years so...brought me hope

Well I had a great day with my friends as usual. We shopped and then had a long lunch and laughed as we always do. Then shopped some more. I bought a really cute gauzy type casual dress and some really cute wedge slip on shoes. they are kinda of dressy/casual hard to explain but really cute. Our one friend that keeps us in stiches with all her stories mainly because she has never grown up and is addicted to prescription drugs and alcohol. Really sad but she is really funny. She could not get out of bed this morning to join us because guess what she drank too much last night. Oh well she missed a very good time.

Hi girls!
So glad your bloodwork was all good Sherry...mine was too. Except they forgot to run two....my Protein C and Vit D so I had to have more blood drawn again for those.
Waiting on those results. I got my tumor marker done and it was in the normal range. Iron still on low side of normal but not out of range. WBC came back up. Liver and kidney all good. So overall good...just waiting on those other two. Hi June!! Good to see you here.
Sorry to hear you are having stomach issues again....I am as well. That was a early SE that seemed to go away....but has been back for about a month. Very annoying. AND, I've been off Tamox for about two weeks and I'm still having the stomach issues. Wonder is the Tamox still in my system? I don't feel all that different either yet Tink....but the countdown is on for the both of us.
Next week! Getting nervous....just want it behind me...know you do too! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

-
You ladies are fun. I've missed you.
Sherry, will be rooting for you to feel better.
Jo, good news about your kitchen!
June, I feel for you, going through rough times with your mom.
Alicia, I, too, feel like I am forever preparing meals for kids.
A nice story...when I return home to Israel in a few weeks, I'm planning an evening with friends to mark a year since dx and also to celebrate my 50th bday. Recently I started a small charity to help very poor local women with BC, with non medical expenses and asked for donations in lieu of gifts. One of the women I invited, a neighbor, rsvp'd that she coming as a 30 year survivor (had a mx 30 hrs ago, now 80,) something I never knew. I love those stories and thought you'd enjoy hearing it
too.
For now, enjoying my visit with parents, siblings, cousins, etc, here in the northeast Pa.
Stay cool, love, shari -
shari how awesome that you have started a charity. I hope it goes well for you and you are able to help alot of women
-
Sandee - I also dragonboat. I am on an all cancer survivor team (various forms) organized through the Cancer Support Community (previously the Wellness Community). We are trained by the BC boat of the Phila. Flying Phoenix. Our team is only doing this for fun, we compete in one festival in Phila. in early October. It consists of anyone that wants to put together a team, divided into various classifications for the group. We have one man so we compete as a coed boat. Last year was our 1st year and we did well. Most of us have returned as well as several newbies.
Sounds like you are very busy and as you said that definitely contributes to fatigue.
-
PattiB- Yeah dragonboating!!! We have had a couple of male supporters join us this week but they did not paddle in the competition on Saturday. The comaraderie of these gals is spectacular..a common bond like on these threads....so incredibly welcoming. I feel blessed to have found them. As for the fatigue...think you are right. Burning the candle at both ends and dealing with pain so I am tired...going to work on doing less this month....starting on Tuesday! I have holiday planned for one month from now...a bit paranoid given mylast two planned holidays so I have not planned anything except who I am spending it with and that we will be in a car driving somewhere...I am going to take two more weeks somewhere in August/Sreptember before I go to Tampa for a workshop ....and plan on not doing much of anything at all!
tink/Eastcoastgirl- good luck this week....remember to breathe.
-
Hi all! Its been a busy busy weekend. Whew am I wore out. I have been going nonstop since Saturday morning. I had a good time though. I hope you all are doing well this weekend. Im going to drag my tuckered out self to bed. Goodnight all! Sweet dreams!

Tink - Wed it is., I will be there with bells on - LOL
-
Tink I'll be ready as well
ECG I don't remember when your's is but I'll be there.
-
Tink I'll be ready to go also, make room for me!
-
Tink - Sounds like you will have to put on the big wings and wear those cargo pants. You are going to have full pockets with all the gals riding along.
-
Well ladies I have been told to get off Tamoxfien for two weeks to see if my joint issues resolve, and also because I am having surgery on Friday and will be sedentary for a few days so they are concerned about blood clots. I look forward to not having the A/C cranked up as high!
-
Thanks Sherry
HUGS
Mine is this Friday at 10:15...have to be there at 8:15. It's in DC so we are riding the train up on Thurs, surgery Friday, followup on Monday and then back on the train home. My surgery is with the same wonderful Dr. as Tink!
Funnily we ended up just two days apart. Wanted to also report that my numbers are back for my Protein C (that pesky blood clotting test that kept coming in just out of range...meaning I would have slightly higher % of clotting) It is finally in the normal range!! Wahoo! So glad. She is not sure why it was out of range those times but we are both glad they are in normal range now.
-
I am having surgery Friday also surfette....will be thinking about you!

I have been off of Tamox for about two weeks (they wanted me off 10 days before but I was in NYC on a trip and just did not want that awful stomach feeling I'd been having...so I stopped early..) and I don't feel all that different yet. Haven't had the stomach thing as much but some days still...just not everyday like on the T. And still having some hot flashes at night . I'm not sure how long it stays in our systems so hard to tell.
