@ Athena, so fierce, grawwww, we,re all shaking, and who exactly are u calling a lyer, calling out without a name is not so brave, now is it ?
-
It's liar. Not you, Luan.
This is my favourite "grrr" picture - your post made me think of it (couldn't find the one I was thinking of but here is a substitute):

I can and I do compare my daughter's situation with chemo. I felt better sooner after chemo than she did after blood transfusions, The transfusions saved her life. I will not know if chemo saved mine until I die.
What is your response?
-
Sunfowers - you're right! Susan/Rainbow/Patzee is Mind Over Matter/Jim. Sisters - we have been responding to a male that doesn't have, or ever had BC.
Time for the ignore button.
-
I was told i will know i beat cancer the day i will die of something else. is that the kind of response you,re looking for ?
-
rainbowpony?
How bad do you think chemo is? Trust me transfusions of 2 units of platelets and 3 units of packed cells are worse. Cancer treatment is not the worst thing you can go through.
-
Luann, that is EXACTLY the response I'm looking for.

Working from this dinky telephone, i thought u were talking to me and was wondering what the hell..but hey, you got MY answer
-
Orange, could you explain, i,m reallly confused here
-
i have a better idea, orange: time to hit "report this post" button. these outrageous posts that are openly defiant and vicious. and i think you are right about troll issues.
time to take out the brooms. i notice Luan and her like rarely respond to thoughtful, REAL posts such as Petjunkies. hmmm. as a former supervisor used to say to the social work team: everything is diagnostic.
petjunkie, thank you for sharing - and you are in my prayers.
leah: right on.

Athena, we can all relate to that picture
-
Now, now, Rosemary is cheating...na na na, u had first addressed your question to me, re edited your post to address it to rainbowpony, that is really really distateful
-
And what business is that of yours Leah ?
-
Luan- I hope you get what you need- it is a bummer going through the maze. I got the same "You will die from something else speech" right before doc wanted me to take AI:) And yet she has proved to be a good woman even approaching friend status. WHile she doe snot agree with my choices she is supporting them.
As far as the last post - it was by Susan...not Orange and I believe it was chiding her for having the audacity to accept pay for her work. I am thinking unless we volunteer I sure as hell don't go to work for free. This is supposed to be an inclusive place, not attack zone. What's up next? Atheists? Jews? Christians? Chubby people? Government workers? Car Salespeople (ok, maybe car sales people DO need to be called out:) but you get my drift.
Susan- I have not seen where you have mentioned your DX....did you? If you did, sorry I missed it in the flurry of posts. Only reason I ask is that I do care about all the women on here who have been tripped and dipped by BC. I know it has made me crazed at times. Lots of times. Angry, as well. Usually when people strike out it seems to be from fear, pain or a really really bad experience with whatever is being discussed. Or all of the above.

Interesting, this idea that medicine never successfully treats anyone. So the two times I had pneumonia cured by antibiotics, what was that? How about my friend who had such bad post-partum depression that she was hospitalized with psychosis, but after treatment with anti-depressents was able to go home and care for her baby? How about my son's friend whose nebulizer has kept his airways from closing? How about my niece with aggressive and advanced brain cancer who was cured by chemo? Hey, how about my own cancer?
Ah, it was all a dream, cause medicine never, ever cured anyone. Yeah that makes sense. Hey, how many folks want to sign on to Susan's view of things?
-
Fine
I made a mistake and changed the name on my post because I put the wrong name the first time I posted. But I think a reasonable mind could understand my confusion. I will address it to both of you. Chemo was bad but better than what my daughter went through.
Oh and please do carry on without me. Anything else I say on here will also be misconstrued or ignored as have my points so far. So there is no point. Except, say what you will clinical trials and not anecdotal evidence proves modern medicine works. Wouldn't it be nice if we could change facts by shouting down the opposition. Sorry, that doesn't work.

Annettek:
I'd say that it is from an inability to cope, coupled with a feeling of being overwhelmed by the not very nice treatment choices. I do feel for her. It's just that we can't all be held hostage by this. She is lashing out in the wrong directions - especially at those who do what she is afraid to do, which is go for the treatment in a big way. It is a tragedy to see. And she doesn't have to do chemo; I say she is angry at the cancer and taking it out on chemo. And so we get to see this pathetic, sad spectacle of a woman dislodged and gone half into fantasy land, and we get to read all this tripe about modern medicine being bad. No need to take it seriously though. She is having her outburst in a grand way against cancer. I don't know who can help her. It's an extraordinary amount of pain.
-
This section is for alternative and complimentary, so that includes people who have had conventional. In fact, the complimentary thread is very positive and helpful and really includes the kind of discussion of alternative treatments that belong here, but without the screaming accusations toward women who also had chemo.
-
Are Rainbow/Patzee and Susan the same person?
-
I will be watching for that response.
-
Thanks Annettek, i have reallly really bad chemo brain and this back and forth is really confusing me. Orange is saying that Susan, Rainbowpony, Blue are all the same man, yet they,re all posting at the same time. I,m getting really dizzy
-
Hey, keep me out of this.
-
MOTC - yes.
-
sigh...it is confusing. Luan- just exhale and give yourself more credit. You don't need to align with anyone- there are no enemies-the whole point is getting through crap intact....say what YOU feel and what YOU think and I can almost guarantee it will all be easier. You know more than you think. We all do once we get BC. No choice.
As for the others so obviously having fun tossing out little bombs...I don't get it. I don't like people that prey on others fears and try to reel them in when they really do not care about that person at all. They see a weak spot and pounce on it so they can add to their merry band. When I come across someone I don't get along with and if I can't have any kind of rational conversation, or they try to get me to somehow" be on their side" I run. I don't like running. I just don't like cruelty. And I am not talking about it being directed to me. I have my big girl panties on. But there are others who are obviously influenced and that is not right. It is cruel and I do not know what the upside of it is. Some kind of skewed joy while you pull the strings? I think you know exactly what I am talking about.
-
rainbow- are you trying to speak for Luan? She is perfectly capable of speaking for herself. Sheesh. That must of hit home.
OK....this isn't even a little bit interesting anymore. Sad but not interesting.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I've come to agree with Luan. The OP made it clear it was for "alternative" medicine discussion only, and although it is too bad we can't debate civilly at this point, maybe it's best to leave this thread to folks who are hardliners.
The thread Susieq started on conventional/complimentary blend is a great one, with fabulous ideas and lots of sharing.
I find the OP's words amusing "if you are dead set on ..." ...because hell, many of us would be dead without it!
just practice what you preach to others ("Please respect our opinions") and all will be well.
-
oh wait! i mean rainbowpony. sorry, i got confused.
i think it's useless to continue the debate, which is pretty poisoned at this point. bottom line seems to be we have some trolls here, and others who are just plain troublemakers, who love to taunt and upset those who come with genuine desire to learn and support.
and in the Unsolicited Advice Department: annette, i wouldn't grace that question with an answer. folks who are so rabid against "conventional" -oops, despite doing Western medicine surgery themselves-- have this need to pry into others' personal lives.
-
rainbowpony, a few pages back (yeah, I took the day off!) did you really say that if you had to do it over again, you would not have had your lumpectomy, and you'd have let your tumor "take care of itself"???
Really?
You're not even a year out from your surgery. Leaving in an aggressive tumor that has already invaded a node doesn't sound like a wise thing, to me.
But I work in the medical field, so what do I know.
Saying stuff like that is cutting off your nose to spite your face. It's OKAY to have some conventional treatment to reduce the tumor load, then work like crazy with alternatives to try and keep the rest of the cells from migrating (if they haven't already.) That's the crux of what most people here are trying to say--do what you need to do to hit the cancer right away. Then choose how you want to live the rest of your life. Most of us actually DO choose a blend of conventional with alternative (which equals complimentary, to my poor brain, anyway.)
-
If I were to have mets, upgrading or rather downgrading to stage 4, am not sure i would do anymore treatments, because that would mean that the big guns did not work the first time, so they would not do so a second time around. At one point, someone has to let go somehow
-
Wow, I just read through all of these posts and no one commented on my post Saturday night.Nobody had anything to say?
Rainbowpony summarized my original post quite well. I started this post to talk about alternative treatments and how the Medical Industrial Complex thwarts them. So, let's talk about alternative treatments. I want to talk about Budwig and the FOCC and Vitamin D3 and eating vegetables.
I did say in my original post that "Chemotherapy kills." Because I have seen that they do. My colleague that I wrote about Saturday night with the Leio cancer. Farah Fawcett. Patrick Swayze, this woman that I didn't know but lived in my town, she had stage 2 Ovarian cancer, dead after chemo. My sister had stage 3 ovarian cancer in 2007, went on the total budwig protocol, rejected the chemo, alive to this day. And thriving.
This is what I want to talk about.
As I said, you women that have benefited from chemo there are plenty of threads for you. Most of them. Can't you just leave this one thread, to the people that reject chemo and radiation? And stop posting, here, with your criticisms? Of the people that reject that.
Incidentally, my sister with the Stage 3 Ovarian cancer is 60. And she has never had a mammogram. Not even a Thermogram. And she doesn't have breast cancer.
Although, maybe she does have breast cancer. It is just not diagnosed. Yet, she feels great on the Budwig and is doing great.
In my opinion, what we have been doing in recent years is not curing, anything. This "Komen race for the cure" is just all about more screening so that the MIC can "treat" more cancers that would never have been a problem to begin with. But that yield tremendous $$$ for all of those people in the health care industry.
Life, by definition is a risk. Nothing is certain, in life.
