breast form for swimsuits

I was wondering if you can use a silicone breast prost. in a swimsuit?  I'm asking because I have to buy a swimsuit and have an old prosth. that I can use.

Thanks

Angie

    Hi Angie,

Many of the current silicone breast forms can be worn while swimming. With some of the older ones, I was told you weren't supposed to use them as swim forms. Perhaps you can call the place where you purchased yours and ask. On the other hand, if you don't normally use it anyway, why not just try it out with your swimsuit. It's not going to totally fall apart, just might not last as long because of the chlorine or salt water.

Barbara,  Thanks for you answer.  The one I was thinking of using is just sitting in the case in my closet and not being used.  So I might just try it...

I have a silicone prothesis, which is my only one, that I use swimming.  This past week I was in the ocean with my kids riding the waves on a foam board.  I am not even aware of it and I am a large breasted woman.  Hope yours works out.

Hello.  Most manufactures of breast forms have a form that they recommend only for swimming.  Amoena's Aqua Wave 149 swim form is especially created for use in chlorinated or salt water as well as warmer tempatures.  Since this is a lower cost form and is created with water/air flow channels on the rear side that helps to reduce suction between the form and suit I would recommend  using this form for swimming.  It comes with a fashionable waterproof swim bag that you can put your wet pocketed Amoena swimsuit and form in when done.  You can find these at www.amoena.com/us//Products/Accessories/BreastformAccessories/AquaWaveSwimform.htm
