    Thanks gang---What's the scoop with Michele??? LE board??  See what happens when I've been out of the loop--- I need to keep my furies in check, but I've been having fun with Osmonds.  Saw Donny & Marie twice last year at Flamingo Hotel.  Going out again in July for a Donny reunion.  That'll be a nice present for me as reunion is 7/21, 7/22, and 7/23

    Wow, activity!  The thread has been so quiet, I haven't checked in in a while.

    Glad to hear that the lumps and bumps are all good, I also have an area of concern right next to my scar, not so much a lump but a cherry angioma that is getting bigger...so I'm just gonna have it removed, better safe than sorry.  I've always had these, but the others are all flat, why does the one on the scar have to be the only one that is growing???  On my Metaplastic FB page, women have posted pics of their recurrences, and it seems to present as lumps right at the surface of the skin, so I freaked a bit when I first noticed the growth, but I feel more confident now that it is probably nothing.

    I wonder what's up with hip pain here?  It's wonderful that all of your scans were clear....btw Elaine, tell your onc to read the Tamoxifen thread, it certainly does seem to cause pain in women.  I hate it when doctors tell us our meds don't cause side effects, grrr

    Hugs to all of you....I'm glad to see that we are all still here for each other : )

    Judy - hope you are just worried over nothing! I had my onc visit yesterday and freaked myself out a little beforehand because I thought I felt a lump on my scar line. Turns out it was just a rib!

    Anyhow, hope everyone is doing well!

    lol on the rib thing...I have done the same thing, now I just feel both sides at the same time, if I feel the same 'lump' on both sides, I know it is a rib!

    Kerry~ I hope onc. visit was uneventful.

    So tomorrow afternoon I get to go back to the kidney doctor...Can you tell I am SSOOOO excited....grrrrr...  My back hurts and I am ready to strangle my old surgeon about now.  I wish it was today so I could just get it over with....grrrr....

    Okay I forgot to check back in.  Apparently I have a fat pad according to the Urologist.  Never been so happy about being heavy in my lift....loll.....  So I survived and I go back to see him in the fall.   WOOOHHOOOO!!!

    Now Onocolgist appt is up tomorrow and I hope he agrees because if not you know I will be stuck in a tube someplace.  I love my onc. but hate the stress that comes with his appt.

    hi everyone!!!

    So glad everyone had normal scans to go with their bumps, etc.  I'm still an anxious mess. I have a whole string of swollen nodes on my arm... tender too.  The verdict is still "axillary web syndrome" and LE without arm swelling yet.  Eventhough 've been told by surgeon, onc, and LE therapist that I don't have a recurrence, I still stress about it.  Ugh.

     Jaimie~ Be sure to post an update.

    Kerry~ Glad your visit went well.

    Artemis, Nancy, Bethie~~ Hi!!

    xxoo to all of my wonderful furies.

    Hey Michele,

     Have you tried a lymphedema sleeve?  I didn't have any visible are swelling, more truncal symptoms.  Although I don't like wearing the sleeve, the days I don't wear it are much more painful.  Just a thought...

    Also, it is hard to keep fear away, especially as 5-10 people that I know have had cancer come back within this last month....urgghhhhhh

    All right so my verdict is in.  I am just POOFEE...lol...  Onc. said welcome to the club and grabbed his belly.  So I need to drop about 20lbs total but in the next 4 months I need to get rid of 10lbs.  So how to proceed....lol....  Happy that it isn't cancer and that it is just fat.  Sad that the eat a-thon has came to an end.

    So back to exercising...I need to do it for me :)

    Hello Ladies :)

     Just wanted to make sure to tell everyone that our Apple needs some positive thought, prayer, mojo or just support.

    http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/8/topic/767630?page=1#idx_29

    Apple I hope you are feeling better soon and that your mengioma (sp) is still b9.  I have a friend that had to have his removed and it was b9.  ((hugs))

    Jaimie ~ thanks for the link to apple's post.  I just can't say how sad it makes me feel to know that she's having so much trouble.  Frown

    Do you ladies think she'd mind if we posted in her Stage IV threads?  I read that board a lot, but I don't post unless I know it's someone who doesn't mind.

    I guess the best thing to do would be to ask apple herself; I know she'll give us an honest answer if she wants us to keep away! Laughing

    We Love You, Apple!!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I had a bit of a scare a few weeks ago when a wierd rash showed up on my neck on my cancer side.  I searched this board, searched Yahoo, searched Google, etc etc etc, but apparently skin mets can look like just about anything, so yeah, I was getting more than a little antsy.
    It turned out to be ringworm which I've never had in my life, and I have no idea how I got it.  FWIW, the rash looked nothing like any online pics of ringworm, but the cream that my PCP prescribed got rid of it in just a few days so I guess that's truly what it was.
    Oh, how I HATE this disease!!!!!  Yell
    Michele ~ how is your LE and AWS?
    Judy ~ I may have to print part of the Tamoxifen thread for my onc for real...not that it'll make any difference.  When he was denying that Herceptin was causing my dizziness, I printed posts from 12 people saying they had the same thing.   The dizziness went away withing three months of finishing Herceptin, but he still won't admit it was the cause. Undecided  Ah well, I'll just keep swallowing Motrin by the handful; maybe when I need a liver transplant, my onc will believe my pain is real. Tongue out
    Much love to all the Furies!
     Well, Artemis -0 who would be glad to only have ringworm!!  The mental messes we get ourselves into.
    Hope everyone else is well!
    Apple, so sorry to hear that you are going through this...hoping all turns out ok, and that your results are b9.
    Elaine, I had ringworm back when I was a teenager, I'm sure you were glad to hear that was the cause of your rash.  It sucks that we have to be so freaked out every time we find something different on our bodies that we wouldn't have worried about before bc.  I hope your doc listens to you, I know how frustrating it is when doctors act like they're always right, and we don't know anything.
    I started back at work finally...that was my major problem after bc, I was afraid to teach, that I would have breathing problems or heart palps while I was responsible for 30 kids...or that my slower brain wouldn't work well enough to teach.  But, so far so good, although my first day back wiped me out, and my second day was really hard, had trouble keeping the class focused.
    Hubby is still down in Miami, he's visited twice since November.  I am getting used to being on my own, for the most part.  I will admit, having the bed to myself is nice, lol..he snores and keeps me awake, so I'm sleeping much better.  Still not sure how we're going to continue in this situation, don't want to sell the house here in MI, so for now, we just live apart.
    Hugs to all you ladies, I think of you all often : )
    What a scare, Apple!!  I know what you mean - you're off in la la land and everyone else around you is reacting in fear. Be strong and lean on your family and friends. Know you are loved.
    Hope everyone else is faring well and welcoming spring which seems to have come at last to the mid-atlantic. I'm finally winding down from PT after the ACL reconstruction and getting ready for Race for the Cure down on the mall in June. You will all be in my thoughts that day.
    Hi, Furies ~
    Hope you're all well and having a good day. Smile
    I saw my onc this week, and he said something like, "blah blah blah since you're triple positive blah blah blah may put you on Aromasin after Tamoxifen blah blah blah."  Now, being triple positive was news to me.  I didn't bother to question him since it's going to be a long time before I finish riding the Tamoxi Train, but I did look back through all my reports.  It looks to me like my PR is negative; maybe he had me mixed up with someone else. Tongue out
    Anyway, I'll see him again in August and then continue every three months for one more year.  If I'm still doing well, visits will be bumped to every six months.
    I still have headaches, mild nausea, joint pain and miserable hot flashes from the Tamox, but hey...it ain't cancer!
    I'm going to try to post a pic of my hair.  I took this on my two years post-chemoversary, and I'm soooooooo happy to have normal looking hair ~ yay!!  (Yes, I used a straightening iron, lol)
    A friend of mine was diagnosed a few weeks ago and will be having a BMX next week.  She's Stage 0, but is still scared out of her mind.  I spent an afternoon with her about a week ago; we talked and laughed and cried and cried and cried, but she said she felt somewhat better after I was able to answer some of her questions.  There's not a lot to be thankful for about this crappy disease, but at least it made me able to help a new sister.
    Anyway, any prayers, healthy vibes, good thoughts, etc will be greatly appreciate for my friend Jean. Smile
    I love you guys so so much!
    Hey gang!!!!!  How's all my February Furies  ??? !!! Have I got good news??!!! Not only am I 3 years out this December, but my nephew who was born 1 week before I started chemo turned 3 on Feb 6, 2011.  He's a pisser!!!  I'm going for my recon surgery with a DIEP flap July 11 --prayers needed.
    Also, a side note but kinda related--do any of you have a <a href http://www.cancer.org/hopeclub"> HopeClub of the Capital Region </a>
    in your area as well as a bottle redemption program?  My HopeClub (formerly Gilda's Club is in Latham, NY, and what people are doing is bringing their bottle slips in to the club to offset the cost of the programs provided, and I've called the campaign "Let's CAN Cancer."  So let's can cancer--try to bring your slips in to your clubs and we can all kick some serious butt
    Sorry to hear about the delay on the recon, Bethie.  Sept will be here before you know it.
    I'm so pleased that I will now be on a 1 year schedule for the mammos and surgeon. Too many doctors as it is.  Too many reasons right now to be needing an orthopedist.  Mostly torn ligaments so far, but MRI on the wrist is next week and now I have a toe acting up.
    Hope everyone else is working hard on your new normal.  I've been trying to learn golf and will get back to it after the wrist problem.
    Hello, Furies!  I hope everyone's doing well!
    I have yet another friend who's been diagnosed; she's having surgery this Thursday, so if you drop by and see this, please send out thoughts and prayers for Debbie.  She's my third friend this year to join our club.  I hate this disease!!
    I saw the onc's PA today, and she said all my bloodwork is looking good.  So I'm good for another three months, I guess.
    Bethie ~ are you still on track for recon next month?  I'm leaning more and more toward seeing about DIEP.  I am sick of seeing my mangled chest everytime I'm in the shower.
    Love to all of you!
    Wow, haven't stopped in here for a long time....since we're all on FB now, lol
    Sorry to hear about your friend Elaine, and glad to hear that all your bloodwork is looking good.  My onc stopped taking blood, go figure...I, too, am tired of having no chest Elaine, but way too chicken to do any surgery...it really sucks.  No fair that we have to deal with this on top of what we've already gone through...
    Bethie, better safe for sure : )  Hugs to you both : )
    Hi, Furies ~ hope everyone's doing well Smile
    Judy ~ I wonder why your onc isn't drawing blood.  Are you getting scans instead?
    Bethie ~ I hope your expander surgery goes well.  I'm still researching my options for a DIEP or some other flap recon.  I was really wanting to go to Dr. Massey in Charleston, SC, but that doesn't seem to be working out.  Grrrrrrrrr...
    I'm having wierd pains on the side of my head.  It feels like there are bruises, and every now and then I get a sharp pain around my eye.  This is all on the right side which is my cancer side, so y'all know where my mind is going!!!
    I'm off to the Georgia game tomorrow; hopefully, we'll finally get a win.  The season isn't going well so far... Undecided  Go Dawgs!!
    Hi, Furies ~
    Well, the pains in my head plus some dizziness and balance issues have earned me a brain MRI.  I go early Friday morning, and, thankfully, I'll get the results that afternoon.  Any prayers, good thoughts/vibes will be greatly appreciated.
    Bethie ~ how are you doing with your expanders?
    Michele ~ you doing ok with your LE?
    Love to all of you!! *hugs*
    EDIT:  I saw the mother of stupid pink things today.  It was pink t-shirt that said "I fought like a girl and won!", and it had dumb flowers and ribbons all over it. Yell
