    Hi, Ladies:

Thank you so much for all of the well wishes!  I am doing okay - I stopped taking the pain meds. on Tuesday - they make me feel horrible.  So I'm having a little bit of soreness but nothing major.  I'm already stir crazy.  I have no idea how I'm going to cope with this for another 3 weeks - I'm going to start doing some work from home next week - I think that will help.

The hospital where I had the surgery done was AWESOME w/regards to my LE arm.  They had a huge sign on the door, I wore an LE alert pink bracelet (thanks, kira, for the link) and I cut a pc. of tricofix to cover my arm as well.  The main, attending nurse has a MIL with LE so she was very aware of it.

And best of all, everything was BENIGN.  Hurrah!!!!  Laughing

    Love,

    Suzanne

SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD to hear from you Suzanne!  I never did very well with pain meds either.  You'll be on your feet in no time, I'll bet.  You've got a lot of fire for life in there, and I'm delighted all was benign!  Keep healing, and thanks for letting us know how things are and how they went.  It is always encouraging to know there are hospitals where LE is acknowledged and cared for!

    Hello Suzy

I had to take a second look when I saw Innard Removal and then saw it was you...girlllllll

While you were having your innard's removed I was feeling really bad in my room at the women's hospital.  Who would have thought????......I had all my innard's removed on Thur June 30th and came home Fri afternoon.  They were super great at the hospital.  I also had laproscopic and my path report was all clear....wooohooooo

I actually needed a rectocele (rectum hernia) repair but with much thought and prayer I decided to go for a total hyster with ovaries removed also. After having BC two times I did not want to take the chance of getting cancer in my reproductive organs especially since ovarian cancer is usually not detected until it is stage 3 or 4.  Dr Webb also used mesh to raise my bladder.  I am like you....already tired of sitting around doing nothing.  With these mesh repairs I am being very careful.... also do not want to tear anything to cause bleeding because that can lead to scar tissue forming adhesions which can lead to pain later.  You better be taking it easy...we only get one shot at healing without problems.  I only attended one meeting at Women's First this year...seemed like I could never get to the meetings on Monday nights.  Hope to see you at our end of summer gathering sometime in August.

Let me know how you are doing.....

    Linda

    Linda!!!!

I am so glad to hear from you and so SORRY that you had to be getting innards re-worked and removed.  And thank you for the reminder about being careful...I have been wanting to push it.  Your words made me gulp and determine to go slow and take it EASY.  Thank you.

I will try my best to be there end of summer for Women First - the only problem is the meeting nights are at the same time as a potluck we have at my church once a month.  I hate it when I want to be two places at once!

Hope you're doing okay - I had to get off all the pain meds. 4 days after surgery - they were making me sick and even more nuts than usual.  I am a little uncomfortable but nothing major.  I have been watching tv, have read six books and am re-stringing my guitar, have painted my fingernails and toes two different colors - twice....and this from the girl who just applies the same color on my toes for like, 3 months until it is so skanky you just can't stand it anymore.

I was not meant to be a shut-in...I'm supposed to be out sharing my insanity with others.  Laughing

My aunt keeps telling me I'm going to CRASH from lack of hormones or something.  I don't think she realizes that I started menopause two years ago.  Everyone starts young in my family.  Other than a few little warm 'flushes' at night, I am fine so far...hope it stays that way.

Take care of yourself, Linda, and pm me if you get bored.  Also, let me know if you have found anything good on tv.  Undecided

    Your fellow shut in,

    Suzanne

p.s.  My mom showed me the thank you note she received from me which is PERCOSET FUELED, let me tell you.  She was rofl, but I was not.  How embarrassing.  I wrote them all Monday while I was still on pain meds.  Neighbors, co-workers, friends....saints be praised.  No one was spared.  Let's just say that was a mistake.  Note to self:  Wait until OFF of pain meds to pen thank you's.

Great great news.  Happy to hear you're on the mend.  And who named this damned procedure "hysterectomy" anyway?????  Hmmmm, let me guess.

    Hi Suzanne.....

Have been following this thread and sounds like you really are on the mend.  So glad that all went well.

I am not sure if I should mention this, but you might want to check your Sent Mail.  Hopefully, not to anyone who might use for blackmail at some future date!

Good thing I missed out on taking pain meds.  My life is "interesting enough" as it is.

Rest up.  Innards removal is different than breast surgery as affects your core.  Even I would be careful under those circumstances.  (Says she who just cycled 200+ miles with a banged up ankle.)
