Actually, I went for a third opinion-- first dx from hospital #1 from stereotactic biopsy came back as DCIS, breast surgeon from hospital #2 wanted the slides reanalyzed and dx came back as ADH.  Plastic surgeon & oncologist from hospital #3 wanted a final verdict, so we went for round #3, with the the dx coming back as ADH only.  We decided that best 2 out of 3 won:  ADH dx, thus ruling out the PBMX I had been considering seriously when I thought I was in the DCIS category.

I went for a second opinion because being diagnosed with cancer was the scariest thing in the world for me.  Drs. are human, they make mistakes too.  I feel you can't be too careful when it comes to your health.  My second opinion results were the same as the first.  I decided to go with the second Dr, only because he works at a major cancer center in Phila. I know it is very time consuming, but I feel it is definitely worth the time.  Having cancer is a lot of work, much more work then I ever imagined.  So now get to work girl, you are worth it.

I went for my first opinion from Doctor number 1  which was precancerous, risk assessment 2.0 and script for tamoxifen and monitoring-mammos and mris which was from the one and only visit I had with them.

The second doctor has not given me a full plan yet, he decided to run the CYP2D6 test and D levels test. I go back in 4 weeks to see what he comes up with.  He went over what I should stay away from dietary wise and also said that I should take the curcumin.  So it should be interesting to see what he comes up with.

Good for you Mammafox.  That is what I am doing too.  I was so relieved not to have to take the Tamoxifen.  By the way, what is curcumin?
