I got my one year bone density results today. The Reclast did the job, in one spot my density improved 6.5%. I am now categorized as osteopenia in my spine and NORMAL in my hip.

I will have a blood test soon and six months later, if it comes out well, I can delay Reclast 2 for a year!

That is wonderful news.  It gives me hope that the problem can reverse itself.

    Congratulations!

Hurray! cookiegal, maybe you could describe whether you had SEs from Reclast. There have been some questions about that on this board.

Yes I had very strong SE's. The worst of them lasted around 18 hours. I had the infusion on a Friday, and woke up Saturday with bone pain and fever. It was not fun. I even fainted at one point.

I would stock up on snapple and crackers or something similar, and have water very near by.

However by Sunday I was well enough to travel to a short fundraiser walk.

I have heard of the SE's lasting longer for patients with mets.

I should add that I had several conversations with my brainy dentist about the risk of osteonecrosis.

As someone who has LE, and a bad attitude about it, I know how awful an incurable SE can be.

My dentist felt that since I had no history of dental problems, and I am in my 40's that the risk was very small.
