Let's Inspire each other to be Creative

I too love the "process" of Soul Collage - tho I've been doing something similar for years, not as specific as "soul collage." I prefer more drawing, painting, and less specific sections, areas. But can see how the organization would be especially helpful when working with a group.
I LOVE work by Jeanne Carbonetti - esp. her book: The Zen of Creative Painting - which I bought when it came out in 1998. Long before my journey with bc - but especially helpful after. Her website is: http://www.crowhillgallery.com/
Marybast - love your collage - and seeing Lily Tomlin's name reminds me how much I ADORED her( and her partner Jane Wagner's (sp) The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe. I saw it when it open on Broadway in New York, then read the paperback of the script, it's a fabulous one woman show - and think it's on video now too. When ever anyone needs a laugh, please watch it ( warning: pee first or you'll have wet panties
it's that funny!

Thanks for the info Caerus-Sunflowers. I'm going to look up The Zen of Creative Painting. When I dreamed about Lily, I looked her up on the Internet and found part of the script from The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life, also found this delightful reminder: http://www.lilytomlin.com/video/tv/LaughIn1969/em2veedle122969/em2veedle.html.

Lisa
the colors are amazing - were they really that vivid??? Imspiring,
-
Beautiful!
-
Unbelievable. My gosh! Isn't this world beautiful? In so many ways. It's humbling.
-
The colors are awesome, it is a rain forest near Juneau I think..
they told us the flowers are bigger and more colorful because of
the amount of sun they get during the spring and summer

Here is a little sketch (16 x18) I did this week after sailing away from England recently.

Here is a little sketch I did this week (16 x 18) when I sailed away from England on a cruise recently. I call it a sketch because I may make changes to the painting. (for example, I think I made the water too light....my turpentine wash was much darker and I preferred the darker tone.
-
Beautiful, Painterly. I know what you mean when you say "I may make changes..." For today, my Barred Owl is finished, but as it dries I may see something I want to change.
-
Thanks Maryblast!
I love your owl! I love the way you shared the process of coming to the finished stage.
-
so much talent! thank you ladies and happy 4th of july!
-
Picnik a little box on Picasa lets you put frames around photos that are good ones
-
ooohh....another beauty...you are SO SPECIAL - I hope you have another outlet for your incredible talent than just bc.org!!!!
Is it REALLY that gorgeous -yellow and FUSCIA??? Oh, my....thank you ;-))) sunflowers

It was a beautiful rose..
-
Indeed a beautiful rose SoCalLisa. I took an acrylic landscape class on Sunday. We only had two hours so nobody finished but it was fun to try, and I'd only worked with oils before, so I loved how quickly the paint dried. We were copying one of the teacher's seascapes. She actually makes a living from her painting, is very Internet-savvy: http://www.lindablondheim.com.
I'm the white hair, orange tank top (with pockets for fake boobs).
-
wish I could see your picture, mary, it is too far back for my tired old eyes..
-
It's not finished, we only had 2 hours, and I haven't been back to it. My line between ocean and sky kept getting higher and higher as I tried to make it a straight line. I'll have to go back at it with a ruler!
Here's the teacher's painting we were working toward:
-
Gorgeous painting! Love those clouds!
PS...You sure did a lot in 2 hours.
-
mary, I am loving it...how about a laser thingy
-
ooooooohhhh...I LOVE IT! Those clouds feeeeeeeel so fluffy! yummy. Don't know if that's a word in the "artists reference" but that's what come to mind for me
LOVE it!
-
What's a laser thingy, SoCal?
-
the laser they use to hang pictures on the wall so they are straight..
-
Here's a painting I keep fiddling with to get those lights and darks. I have been working on it all day.
-
Painterly = how wonderful - oil or acrylic. I'm still "playing" and I really mean playing, with watercolor. You've really mastered perspective too...makes me craaaaaaazy
love the shadows - really, everything seems to work....WOW!
I'm not puttin' up any of my ''stuff' - yet
-
-
Hi, Caerus Sunflowers,
Yes it is oil.
-
My granddaughter had her first birthday recently. She is a darling little thing and clings like a "koala bear"onto her mother. she won't go to anyone else, only mommy. I lived in Australia many years, so "Koala bear" naturally came to my mind.
For her birthday card I downloaded a pic of a koala bear and its mother and painted it. I only spent about an hour on the design, but I now wished I had spent more time as my daughter has popped it into a frame to have around for awhile.
