Is this funny or serious?

I've been in the process of moving for the last three months. Lots of packing, lifting, unpacking, shoving, folding, and all on top of working fulltime. To say I'm tired is an understatement. In the past, when I've been overtired or stressed I've had a twitch in my right eyelid. Now, it seems, I've progressed to a new level.

The middle finger of my right hand is twitching. Now, although I don't fold down my other fingers, this still looks like I am giving the FU salute. I can feel the nerve down my arm straining to control it, but it pretty much has lost the battle. Sometimes, if I stretch my arm a certain way, it calms down, but mostly I have to hold my right hand to not make obscene gestures at everyone.

OK, the funny part aside, I'm wondering what kind of SE this could be from my bc treatment. Neuropathy from chemo? Nerve damage from my mx? Or worse (of course, this scenario takes me into the realm of Stage IV). Anyone have an SE like this just from an AI?

I think trigger finger is an AI side effect

Thanks, Mary. Now I have to live with this for four months before I see my onc. I don't see this as a reason to go running to him, but there always seems to be a new SE that pops up just after I've seen him. And by the time I see him again, I've learned to live with it.

Nancy, many years ago and before cancer / happy times huh / I used to do physical type of job involving a lot of hand movement for few years and my index finger started  twitching non stop / so annoying and funny you can't control your body parts /and it lasted quite a few years, then eventually went away when I stopped doing that job. Somebody told me it was strained nerve. Hope you get rid of the twitch after you are done with moving and have more rest.

    Nancy,

I developed a hand tremor during my BC discovery period. I thought it was nerves. When it did not go away as life calmed down, actually got worse, I was referred to a neurologist. The good news was - is it has nothing to do with breast cancer :)

I would not want to suggest anything to worry about but if it persists it would be good to ask for a referral. My neurologist said it is not uncommon for him to see problems unrelated to a serious illness manifest themselves during or after treatment.

Hope you can get some answers.

    Nancy,

Is it on the side where your nodes where removed??? Perhaps you overdid it w/all the lifting, etc while moving and got a mild case of lymphodema.........Not sure if that's possible, but it might be.  If it's really concerning though and doesn't go away soon I'd say a call to your doc (at least your primary care) BEFORE 4 months is up.

Take care and be careful who you are flipping off! Sealed

    Nancy,

I'm thinking along the line of Sharon's thought that it my be LE.  About 2 years ago I started having the tingling pain across my back & down my arm.  That was one of early symptoms of LE.  It still bothers me if I over do it with your arm.  You could have a bit of a pinched nerve.  I would talk to your doctor about it. It's on my non-cancer side, although my breat was removed on that side and reconstructed 18 months later.

It's calmed down now, but it flares up when I'm tired or have done a bit of extra manual labor. I'm thinking pinched nerve or trigger finger SE from the AI. It's not serious enough to see my onc before my next check-up in Oct, but I will mention it to him if it's still occuring then.
