New Stanford Site on Lymphedema

I just got a message from Stanley Rockson MD from Stanford today: he has a new site for lymphedema, with articles and videos and his research on lymphedema is progressing well. Very exciting.

    KIRA-As always, thanks for providing us with encouraging information. I loved reading this, "In the future, it is very likely that specific drug classes will be able to be prescribed to abrogate the abnormal tissue responses in LE and restore the tissues to their pre-morbid state."

    My LE has been migrating lately. For the past few weeks, I've had a stubborn area on the back side of my arm above my elbow. Just yesterday, I commented to my DH that it seemed like a fatty deposit. I hope I'm not developing tissue changes already. I've been wrapping at night but I think I'm going back to wrapping 24/7 with breaks just twice a week for my shifts. I hope that helps!

    Toomuch: because my clinical swelling is limited to my hand/forearm, a PT at a Harvard teaching hospital had me wrapping to the elbow, and sure enough, I developed swelling above the elbow. In that triceps pocket. It seems like a spot where fluid gets trapped.

    I wrap all the way up because of that. 

    Perhaps some foam in that area will help it's resolution?

    I am so exicited that Dr Rockson moved from rat's tails to people with a class of drugs that is easily available and hopeful this will be a major step forward for us.

    my lymphedema has been minimal to date.

    But--certainly welcome this additional progress.
