Stage lll sisters, sad to say,now Stage IV
Went for my second brain MRI,ct scan and PET scan yesterday, saw my onc.today.The 5mm nodule,in my brain grew to 7mm,even though that is very small, they are pretty sure they will do,SRS to zap it.The good news is my pet scan was good.I will see rad onc.Thurs, and see what her thoughts are, then Fri .they will all meet witha neurological onc.and for sure if they should come up with something now or wait a little,to see if it grows a little more. She is pretty sure it is B/C,especially that I am HER2+.This sucks,so bad.I have no symptoms of anything, blood good feel good.

Anna, so sorry to read the news you have joined Stage IV.
Best wishes for treatment and feeling good! You are right, this sucks!
-
Well, sh*t Anna. I am so sorry. Stupid Cancer.
Sorry you are looking at more treatment, I hope they can blast that thing right out of you.
Please let us know how you are doing.
-
Anna I am so sorry. I hate cancer. I'm with Kerry, I know that will nuke this out of you pronto!
-
I am so sorry to read this too......
I do want to say that I have a good friend that has a sister that has been dealing with brain mets for over seven years. One pops up ....they zap it....and then a few years later another one pops up and they zap it....You wouldn't know at all that she has been dealing with this for seven years.
I also saw a show on tv where a woman had brain mets and other mets and she said that she wished that her other mets had responded as well as her brain mets as they were gone.
There is also a woman that works the cancer help line at MD Anderson that is over 30 years past her brain mets....I am always one to cling to these kinds of success stories.
I will pray for strength....hope....and that these doctors help you kick this to the curb so you can be done with it.

Hang in there girl...Good news those on the pet scan being clear...You should know there is still a chance of a cure or it never coming back when you have only a single spot or met..Prayers and hugs...
-
Anna - so sorry to hear this. Hoping for good news when they zap it.
-
Hi anna, I am too sorry to hear this, however one single 7 mm brain met and a clear PET is so doable. Zap the sh*t out of it and you'll be NED in no time.
-
((((((hugs)))))) So sorry. My thoughts are with you.

Sorry to hear this Anna! I know there is a woman who posts once in a while and had a single met to the brain and has been NED for years now! There is definitely hope!

Dear Anna,
I am so sorry to hear your news. I am sending you hugs! Cancer sucks...
-
I'm so sorry you are joining us over in stage IV, but just know there is still sooo much hope!!! I had 2 small brain mets treated 2 years ago with SRS. I took tykerb after (along with herceptin).....great stuff for her2+ with brain mets.
When I first found out about my brain mets I was crushed down to the floor....then slowly I started finding long term survivors....they are out there but hard to find because they are so busy living!!
There are two great sites for you:
http://bcwatchdigest.evidencewatch.com/ & http://brainmetsbc.org/
Also, the founder of the her2support.org site had brain mets treated 10 years ago....PM me anytime! xx00xx lisa

Thank You for all your good thoughts. It feels so glad to know that there are others that feel for you and know what you are going through.I do have a good support system, but nobody truly understands unless you have walked in our shoes.God Bless You All.Tomorrow I meet with Rad onc.and see what she has to say.I will be in touch.

I'm so sorry for these results that you've been handed. One thing I've learned through this journey is that it's all about Quality Of Life. I'm wishing you a very good QOL. You're in my thoughts.
-
Anna, good luck with the zapping. I hate it when one of us IIIers moves to IV, but I feel they will get the little buggers with the SRS.
-
Sending you big hugs and prayers, I hope tx has you back dancing with NED soon, keep us up to date on things.
-
Damn it Anna, I'm sorry this is happening to you. But it sounds like it's VERY small at this point, so hopefully the zapping will do the trick! I HATE cancer................

Dear Anna, I'm so sorry to hear this news but agree with so many others that a 7mm tumor with clean PET is VERY doable! My prayers are with you for an easy treatment and long lasting NED status!
Linda

Just checking on you Anna, I hope your appointment went well.
-
jenny...The rad onc.presented my case to the tumor board and it deffinitly is a met.i have a consult with neurosurgeon July 12th,and almost positive they will be using SRS.
Thanks again all.i will keep in touch with all.
-
Anna, thanks for the update. Hope they can get rolling on this quickly! Hope you are holding up OK.
-
Thanks for letting us know, we're here so come here as often as you need to. Prayers going your way.
-
Anna, I did not initially make the connection that this was you! I am very sad/sorry/angry to hear of your brain met but I am sooo, sooo glad they found it while it was sooo very small! I hope that they zap that f*cker and you will be well for a long, long time! I have hope that his is indeed highly possible due to the very small size and am glad that the cancer is no-where else. This means the treatment really did work for you and there is much hope.
