this is before people wake up in Bruges
-
Thank you for the warm welcome from so many of you!!
For some reason I'm having a flashback of watching "Beach Blanket Bingo" right now!! haha! I think it's because of the beach theme here. And I've just learned how to insert photos. whoopdie whoo!SoCalLisa - the bruges/canals are amazing! Stunning!
FaithandFifty - Yes, we'll keep everyone on their toes. "Roadie" is very funny!! I wish I could say I'm fifty! I passed that three years ago! (53)
Mum - your photos are unbelievable!!! Oh my!!!
Hope all of you here have a peachy, beachy day!
-
Annette F!!!!!!!!!! I so wanted to be her when I was about 6!
-
Faithie, another whirlwind tour??? Don't wait till the end to recharge okay? Make sure to take a little time each day - put it on your schedule - to just have some aaahhhh minutes.
Lisa, I seriously don't know how a picture can be that crisp and clear and colorful and just amazing. What a trip that was
I hope it stirs wonderful memories each time you put up another picture.
Faithie again - we are going to Hideaway Friday to Tuesday ... we both need it! The work is NOT done yet - started May 12 and was to be max 10 work days!!! We are soooo ready to just get him out of our lives. Wasn't the wonderful experience I'd hoped for. We will probably hire someone else to re-paint what this guy did. Will sit on that decision for a while. If you walked in the front door, you would think I'm crazy, you'd say it looks beautiful and on first glance it does ... it's when you look at seams and corners and close-up of trim, and the scratches on the just installed wood flooring ... it's still 250% better than what we had, I had just really hoped that paying good money meant it would be close to perfect for at least a couple weeks, ya know?
Sorry to rant...it's really just like talking once you start typing when you're among friends
Thanks for listening buds.

I don't understand. My stepmom hired a guy to do an add-on & remodel of a couple rooms in early '09, with the expectation that the work would be done by summer of '09....the work didn't get finished until April '10!!!!!!!!!!!!! In this economy & with work being non-existent for construction people, how can they justify shoddy work & longer than advertised finish dates? Marlegal, have you paid the yay-hoo his full fee, because if you haven't I think I'd be withholding some funds until the work was done correctly.
-
Joni, we haven't paid the last portion yet and I have no intention of paying what we agreed upon in April, but we will come to some reasonable settlement because we want this man OUT!!! We know two people who do painting and we're hoping one of them, who was unemployed for a while, might take the job of repainting to get some extra money. I agree that we were shocked that in this economy this guy would show up late, go home early, never work a Friday, and not most Thursdays. Of course he always had an excuse...paint wasn't dry, spackling still wet 'cause of humidity, doors didn't come in from manufacturer, etc. etc. I just want my house back, I want to use my real computer instead of the work laptop, I want to watch tv in the living room and see my shows, not sit in the kitchen night after night watching what hub pics - it's the little things!!!
-
Oh - and Joni - did I see something on another thread that it's your birthday or did I mis-read???? If it is, I hope had a super wondermous day and that the year ahead is filled with nothing but good things for you my friend.

OK. We have a week to celebrate the upcoming birthday of our Eph-ie.
Do you have a particular theme you'd like us to work from?
We haven't done anything on fashion-at-the-beach in a while. We haven't thrown one of our wear-only-ballons extravaganzas in a while.
We could give a challenge for finding the most gorgeous hunk to escort you to the beach birthday party. Or perhaps have a fashion show for the men escorting us? Or what about the food?
We may still have some of the fixin's from the 700 page party stacked in the back closet.
I love when we have ample time to work up a party atmosphere.
A week!
Just think what we can do with a week's notice!
****Newbies. Please be sure to give us a couple of days notice for when your birthday arrives. Don't be shy about it either. Some of us are on Facebook where it gives birthday announcements and that helps us stay on top of things for here.
We could always appoint someone to be the keeper of the birthdays. LOL. Not sure if we have anyone that would qualify as being that organized. That would be a lot of pressure!!! LOL
I'm thrilled to let you know that I have now given 8 of the 14 scheduled concerts for the week -- so I am officially over the half-way hump!! Three more each tomorrow & Thurs.
HURRRRRAY!!!

Mar. Since we are staying in a hotel in the area -- for the duration, I've started a project that I can work on for a little bit during the "in-betweens". Can't imagine what got into me, but I am "painting" a skirt.
I'd really like to wear it in Vegas in a couple weeks for the national Kindergarten teacher conference, but can't imagine that it will be done in time. I'm going over the end on this one! LOL
Maybe I can have it done in time for the national PreK conference in Nov. LOL. A work in progress.

Wowzers---Happy Birthday Eph!! I think I'll go through my beach closet and see if I have my balloon dresses in there. Probably have lost some air, but I've got a pump.
I think I kinda like this one. I'm not sure if I've worn it before. If so, ya'll can correct me and I'll pick out something else:)
-
This is cute........somebody else could borrow it.
-
while I was shopping, I saw this one too and thought of you ladies with lymphadema. I noticed there's some cute little armie thingies that cover your LE garments:)
-
Hey Ladies..................heading to my shore house this weekend...................Can't wait...........will be leaving Thursday and coming back late Monday night.............then its doing business next week, measuring for my LE sleeve.........BS visit..............and a couple other things.............my daughter is staying with her family...............I give them some "family time" to themselves, and come home and do what I have to do..................Hope the weather is nice.................Happy 4th...............

Lisa, I think you are way ahead on the party planning.
I spent the day visiting and watching my "adopted" grandchildren play. We had a good day with lots of kisses and giggles.
-
Yow-zaaaa! It's always been a treat to have my birthday be the 4th-I seriously thought that all the hoopla was for me until I was about 8!!!!
Lisa, I wish I could wear the Bud bathing suit too. I was a Budweiser bottle one Halloween eons ago-brown pants, brown turtle neck, painted a paper plate silver & I had a friend who was an awesome artist-she painted the label on a piece of material we attached to the turtleneck & then she painted the bottle top on the silver paper plate and we attached while flowie feathers in long strands down the side of me for suds! I won a prize! Don't remember what it was-probably a beer!
-
Yes faithandfifty, I was officially welcomed way back in 2009 with an appropriate pair of flip-flops! I enjoy checking out the beach and love the pictures of various beaches. There's not as much time to read and read on the computer as I had after surgery......
-
We are supposed to have 107 degree temps on the fourth, so please tell me the birthday party is somewhere cooler!
Eph, were your favorite colors red, white and blue when you were growing up?
-
I chose this for the formal dinner at the party.
