Do these pictures look like it could be IBC?
I am a 27 year old breastfeeding mother to a 3 month old. For the past 2 months we have passed thrush back and forth to each other. Ive had one spot on my breast for a month and half and for the past week it has grown all over both breasts. Last night my kidneys started hurting really bad, kind of like a kindey infection. Also on my right side it feels painful like my breastbone or something needs to pop. My breasts are hot to the touch and are sometimes very itchy. Im very worried that this is something more serious because I have taken 2 rounds of Diflucan and have been rubbing lotrimin on it but it wont go away. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I am seriously hoping that its like a plugged milk duct or mastitis. But I didnt think my rash looked like those types of rashes. Thanks so much.

Hello Masonbsc:
I'm sorry to hear you're having troubles, especially with feeding your little 3 month old. I would suggest that you get an appointment with a cancer breast specialist as soon as you can. Your body is going through many changes after giving birth and breastfeeding.. It's impossible to diagnose rashes and there are many reasons for them but you do need to get things checked out.
Best of luck with your health and your little baby.

I'd call your doctor today and get an appointment or at the very least talk to the nurse. If they don't get you in then go to the office and ask the nurse to look at it. Good luck

Have you tried hot packs on the breast? Does the baby still nurse on that side?
When I had mastitus, I would nurse the baby more on that side with hot packs on that side. You've had that anitbiotics but it could still just be mastitus. I always had one duct that always gave me trouble.
You pics don't necessarly look like IBC but it's really hard to tell from pics.
I agree with Kathy, you should be seen by a breast specialist to determine whether or not it's IBC.
Sending lots of love & prayers your way! NJ

- Thank you for the replies. It has put my mind to ease some. My babys doc called in diflucan for him and my doc called in nystatin and another round of diflucan. Im praying this will be the magic touch. I appreciate all the replies. My 4 year old had Histicytosis (rare form of cancer) when he was 2 and its really hard not knowing because your mind will go wild.
