Bone mets while on Zometa?

Options

Hey everyone! For the past few months, I've been feeling fantastic, no issues, healthy as a horse, energy to burn, clean chest, abdomen and pelvis scans back in March. Then I had my second Zometa infusion memorial day weekend. I've had constant, increasing pain in my left hip ever since. The pain is now pretty significant (it actually woke me out of a dead sleep this morning) and I'm feeling some definite fatigue. I had some achiness in my joints after my first Zometa, but nothing this intense and nothing that lasted this long. Has anyone else had an experience like this on Zometa? Have you heard of anyone being diagnosed with bone mets while on Zometa? I happen to have an appt with my rad onco next Monday and will bring it up then, but in the meantime, I'm curious as to what others' experiences with Zometa have been. Thank you!!!

Hi! How is your hip doing? I was wondering the same thing about after zometa. My mom had her first infusion last tuesday and since then her right hip has been bothering her. It goes from just an occasional twinge or catch with position changes to last night it started aching pretty bad. Before the infusion she had an occasional catch in that hip but since it has gotten worse. I am wondering how yours turned out? Did it resolve on its own? Thank you....

jlee2511: Hi! Unfortunately, my symptoms have not resolved. I had a xray of the hip and pelvis last week and both came back clear, but my doctor wants a better look at the bone marrow so I'm waiting for her to schedule an MRI. Hopefully that will explain what is going on. It took about a week or so for my joint pain and achiness to resolve after my first zometa infusion so hopefully your mom will start feeling better in the next day or so. Good luck to you!
