    I couldn't agree with this statement more.  However, your group certainly doesn't seem to feel the same way when posting on breastcanswers.com.  How can anyone believe you or Shirley when you won't be honest about that even though it's all there for the world to see? 

    Angel, I'm really getting tired of the other site being talked about.  It has NOTHING to do with this site.  We were basically told to leave sometime back by "your group".  Angel, I don't even know you.  And, what we post on the other site is not hurting anyone of you.

    Sandy......The OJ trial!!! Now that was unbelievable. I still remember where I was and what I was doing when the verdict was read. I think a lot of people walked around in disbelief for several days.

    If you don't like what is being said here, then why do you keep posting to tell people what you don't like.  Put those people you don't like on IGNORE, makes life much easier.  I don't know what "other site" you're referring to, or why the use of the word "your group" or "your gang" or referring to "it's not us" ( on another thread) - ESPECIALLY when you just saw what gracie1 posted about her experiences a few years ago.  PLEASE, just please, let this thread go on and if you don't like something being said, please ignore it.  Let's not repeat what ever happened years ago.

    I had just come home from the hospital with my second child during the OJ trial. I remember the public health nurse coming to our home and her saying "Funny what we'll watch when we're bored at home with a new baby!"

    Gracie.....I am an Educational Assistant for the public school system. When the verdict came in our principal allowed all the classrooms to turn on their televisions and watch it being read.

    Gracie - re: my overies. Yes, that might be a recommendation and I even mulled the idea over to myself but I decided that the risk to general health, including brain and bones, was not worth what could be accomplished by medication anyway (I did try Lupron for two months). My onc. never recomended it either, although my first opinion, whom I fired, had.

    I think ovary resection has to become very scarse for early stage BC - just IMO. There is much more than just estrogen involved in what the ovaries do for the body. Besides, my comorbidity caused me to almost lose my life thanks to the hormone therapy that I did do, so thank God I chose a reversible method instead. Anyway, the other aspect is that I am weakly er+ (10 percent) so it didn't seem as though my treatment had to revolve around hormone suppression.

    they (two oncs) never suggested yanking ovaries but my rad onc did and then never mentioned it again - your adrenal glad also puts out estrogen way after menopause and they aren't taking that out 'cause they can't so......

    That chicken salad sandwich is weighing heavily on my mind though and I have uncooked chicken in the frig - maybe supper (perhaps lunch) good thing I'd already had breakfast when that was posted.

    Here's the thing about those ovaries. I was initially diagnosed stage3 in 1996. They recommended I had them removed then...I wanted another baby so I said no. I didn't get mets until 2006. I think that's a pretty good record considering my initial diagnosis. I did have them yanked in 2006, though because they scared me into it. I wonder if it would have made a difference in 1996? I don't often see women going ten years without mets after stage3. Wonder if I was just lucky or maybe keeping my ovaries back then was a good thing. Man, you could make yourself nuts second guessing.

    I was diagnosed at stage III also, kept my ovaries, and still had a recurrence 4 years and 11 months later.  I think it's all just a craps shoot.

    You know I've wondered about the "good thing" too - I found it interesting that only the one Dr. wanted to remove them - of course I am ten years out of menopause so maybe they aren't anything anymore - makes me think I should do a little up to date research on the subject but maybe not - it's really nice out today and I think the dog and I need to take a walk.

    Hi Everybody!

    Patty .. I've been running errands all morning.  Took me an hour to find the post office in the nearby town.  I want to get a passport card so I can go to Canada in August.  Geez .. what a runaround.  My town is so small the local P.O. doesn't even carry the applications!

    Sandy .. I gotta say .. you crack me up!  I read 'incoming' and was laughing out loud!

    Athena .. chicken salad sounds good to me right now.  And I have some!  I've had a total hysterectomy and don't miss my parts at all.  I'm glad they're gone. 

    Gracie .. I'm glad you're back.  I'm just horrified over what happened to you.

    I sincerely hope the mods don't shut our thread down.  This is my home thread on BCO and has been since it started.  I love all the new gals on here as well as all the long time friends.  I know we've been having some dustups lately here on BCO, but this site has been my lifeline for the past four years.  I've met so many of the wonderful women on this site and become close friends with many more. 

    I really think, like Athena said, we can get this all hashed out and keep the thread going.  I don't understand all these posts being deleted and reported.  I think somebody is cranky.

    Well .. I've got to try to find my birth certificate and get this form filled out if I'm going to make it to CN in August.

    Bren.....glad you are still here and we're just running errands. I have never been to Canada, but would love to go there one day. We lived in Billings, Montana for a short time and should have taken advantage of it and drove to Canada. We were so close....

    Dear Moderators:

    Instead of putting a threat to "delete' this thread, why not put an announcement encouraging people on the "Building our friendships" Forum to stick wth friends and not post on threads that raise one's stress level?  Also perhaps a reminder of the joys of the ignore feature might be in order....

    just a thought..

    Saturday dinner was a giant whole roasted salmon.  This meant that Sunday's dinner was left-overs----green salad with lettuce from our garden.  Heirloom tomato salad with cucumber and fancy schmancy balsamic vinegar that DH brought home from Basel,  cold salmon with boiled potatos, roasted aspargus and handpounded aioli.....hmmmmm oh and vino verde for drinking......vino verde is, in my humble opinion, the very best hot summer day wine. . .

    Hi Guys ... No Athena, Mr. Tim doesn't travel with me.  He's always on the road.  Besides, when I want to go somewhere, he has to stay home and take care of the house  and the dogs.  We did take a trip once together, and he has absolutely refused to ever fly anywhere again!  He was really scared.  Which is so funny cause he's this big Harley riding kinda guy!

    I'm hoping to get to a luncheon Linda is having in August.  She posted about it on the Canadian thread.  Trying to get a couple of gals to travel up north for the event.  I think it's in Toronto, not too far away from Niagra.  Maybe I'll get to see the falls.

    And guess what ... if I can swing it .. I'll get to meet Blue in person too!  yippee!

    I meant to add that the lunch is also our way of celebrating our dear Konakat's brief life with us.  We shall be eating chocolate in her honour and she'll be with us in spirit, I'm sure.

    I second that Niagara on the Lake is indeed the prettiest town in Canada - my husband wanted his ashes spread in the Bow River in Calgary (where he first took up flyfishing) and I would love to have mine spread in Banff - it's where we had our first date and our honeymoon three months later.  When we lived in Rochester (NY) we used to meet all our friends that lived in Toronto at NOTL and have a day of shopping and then dinner so no one had to drive "all the way around the lake".

    I'm working on the passport paperwork .. and it's very intrusive!  They want the dates of my last marriage and divorce.  Well I don't remember that crap.  And I can't find the papers, so I had to email the ex at his law firm and ask him.  He has a very good memory.  And it stressed me out having to email him and I got the hiccups from anxiety!

    Hopefully, he'll write me back quickly and I can get this all turned in tomorrow.  Found out I can go to my local county building instead of trying to find the stupid Post Office in Martinsville again.

    Yikes .. I can't get rid of my hiccups!
