    Sandy,

I'm getting there.  Very weak and full of pain today, so my tolerance for BS is at an all-time low.  My daughter's taking an antibiotic but I'm not and we're getting better at the same rate, so it's likely a stomach virus.

Bad antibiotic??  Allergic reaction?  How are you feeling now?

You shouldn't state as facts things that you suspect.  When do that and your suspicions are wrong you become part of the problem.

    I accept your apology.

I didn't state anything as fact, just suspicion.

I look forward to you explaining reported posts in the future.

E -- I wonder if it's a different strain of the Norwalk virus?  I had that about 20 years ago.  In credible pain with stuff ejecting from both ends non-stop (oops TMI) -- so bad that I thought death was preferable -- and it was at least a month before I was able to look forward to eating.  And it all happened the week before Christmas -aaargh!

It could be, I suppose.  Amazing pain with this one.  I really need to eat, though.  I can't afford to lose any more weight.

Enjoyful: based on what I can surmise from your post, I gather that Patmom is asking whether there is a belief that she reports posts. I cannot answer her directly as I have had her on ignore for several months now. My belief --which of course may be true or false-- is that she does a lot of reporting and she reports posts that do not violate the rules - and that in itself would be a violation. In fact, if this very post gets reported I would not be the least bit surprised. It is my belief that she has played a role in silencing both Blue and me - and others on several occasions. Some of the reporting have been aimed at preventing embarrassment or silencing differing opinions - NOT at speaking out against "abuse" "harassment" and other words used to describe justifiable reportings in BCOs community rulebook.

    We don't need this.

But at this point, it is up to the mods. I will not take issue directly with Patmom herself, since she is in the "possession is nine-tenths of the law" advantage. If you do something over and over again and the moderators do not object, then, honestly, it must be acceptable to the moderators OR it must be preferable to the hassle of doing something about it.  Those are my beliefs. I do not know them to be facts, so if I am wrong I apologize.

I will keep my settings as they are, of course.

Good morning you wonderful group of ladies on this thread! Yikes! My last post on the other thread started off a firestorm. I am so sorry, that was not my intention. After, reading That's-Life's post, I truly did feel for her. I am not going to respond to the women on the other thread. Not worth my time  Blue, I am so sorry you got banned! I hope they reinstate you.

Could we please all give suspicions and reporting a break for the week. Let us please bring in some positive, caring energy to the boards.

    Thank you! Smile

It's pretty obvious what is going on here just by seeing who is getting shot at by that report button.

PatMom ... please note that everybody is allowing you to say whatever you want without trying to delete your posts.  (Shirley also)   I don't believe I have seen anybody go back days or even weeks to find enough posts of yours to report so you have to deal with a suspension or ban.   Patzee's posts here were not removed either.

On the other hand, I'm still missing Amy, Felicia and Donna who were harassed off this board by this same crap.  Now it's blue, Athena and even Bren who seem to have a target on their backs.  And anybody else who dares to defend them.  Enough already ... step away from the button.  Whoever you are.

blue especially has another serious medical condition to deal with in addition to breast cancer.  She will never just roll over and take the abuse and I guess knowing that is what makes her such a good target.  But ... she does not need this aggravation ... it is not good for her health.

And if you report a post for legitimate reasons ... and say so and why you did it ... it is not only the honorable thing to do but also tells the poster that they may have offended somebody and gives them an opportunity to explain or edit their post.

So Athena, you've been publicly posting things about me, about what I said and did, calling me names, and because you've had me on ignore, you have no idea what I actually said or did.

    Nice.

That is my suspicion as well, Athena.  To clarify, a suspicion does not mean that I know it to be a fact.  That's why it's a suspicion.

E - Sorry you're having a bad day (I sure do understand the low tolerance for BS - I'm like that all the time - not just when I'm sick).

The "bad" antibiotic was cefuroxime (commonly referred to as "cef") - while it is not a penicillin (which I am highly allergic to) it does have some component of it - don't ask - two doctors gave me this explanation.  I was given it because I had a sinus infection which normally I would treat the way I have for 50 years - naturally BUT this time I had "pink eye" and there was a wedding and I didn't want to have to stay home so I went to the doctor and everything went downhill from htere.

Cef has some se's and one of them is getting c.difficile (which was dh's secondary cause of death) so I am quite hysterical on the subject - the se's can kick in anywhere from 8 days after starting to a few months - they kicked in with me around the 8 day mark - I called the dr's office to report the symptons and was told "never heard of that - there's something going around" by the nurse so I treated it myself until I finally got in to see the PCP for another reason - guess the nurse is being re-educated - all she had to do was read the drug interaction precaution from the drug company or the pharmacy but.....anyway loooooong story but I am much much better - trouble was I couldn't digest dairy, or veggies or fruit except for bananas and apple sauce - yikes - I seriously ate rice and toast for three weeks with a chaser of water.

(Now, aren't you sorry you asked).Smile

Hugs to you and dd, Sandy

i SUPPORT your reponse to Thats-Life, and choose to do so publically, not in a PM.  So glad Susieq58 started the new thread - it's valuable, civil, and a good place to help/support each other. The post you responded to from Thats-Life made me cry - the insensitivity which is what you refer to as a 'firestorm' will eventually stop if we just put the Ignore button to greater use.

Sandy - I am also allergic to that type of antibiotic and it hit me on day #7.  In fact I have it noted with every doctor's office that I am allergic to anything that contains cephalasporins.  That takes care of what you got and the antibiotic they treated me with - Ceclor.  I am able to take any type of penicillin though.

I think that scrolling back through this thread and seeing who has posted that they have lost the ability to report posts might give readers some idea who has been behind some of the recent reporting.

You will find that much more accurate than guessing based on who you think your friends are.

"I don't believe I have seen anybody go back days or even weeks to find enough posts of yours to report so you have to deal with a suspension or ban."

That would be stalking and abusive which is specifically prohibited in the Community Rules, so it's a good thing that they haven't.  The moderators know who reports what posts when.  I have no idea why anyone else would "need" to know.

I don't want to see anyone here banned, but it would be nice if some people would remember that this is first and foremost a support board and refrain from personal attacks and innuendo.

edited to add quotation marks and to correct a spelling error.

My suspicion is that this whole latest brouhaha has been instigated in an attempt to get our thread deleted once again.

What I cannot fanthom is why anybody is so threatened by a bunch of mostly middle-aged women telling jokes, sharing stories and talking about recipes and menus.  Yet every time we are having a nice peaceful good time the 'appearances' start ... followed by deletions.  WTF???

    Jancie:

Honestly wasn't it the worst?  I seriously felt worse than I ever did on chemo and it made me really angry that anyone would even prescribe this drug - I rarely have had any anti-biotics in my life - I am 65 and probably had anti-biotics five times in 60 years - maybe that's why my system is so sensitive to some of them.

    WR -

Have you noticed that there are one or two "pilot fish" that post and then "stuff happens" with sock puppets, etc. - it's been going on so long you'd think the mods would have stopped it but no - here we go again with the "you are all at fault" bs - it's getting really boring and offensive if the truth be told.

"I think that scrolling back through this thread and seeing who has posted that they have lost the ability to report posts might give readers some idea who has been behind some of the recent reporting."

Wrong again.  What actually happens is that you temporarily lose that ability when your posts have been deleted by somebody else.  It is then reinstated at the same time your post is found not to be in violation and reinstated.

    Sandy ... yes I have.

Get better soon vibes to all those who are feeling poorly.  It doubly sucks when the doctors who were supposed to make you feel better make it worse instead.  Frown

    PatMom,

I believe that what you've suggested we do falls under your own definition of "stalking and abusive."

I agree wholeheartedly with your last sentence.  But you must believe that personal attacks and innuendo are appropriate via PM, since you've admitted to sending just such an email.  So the rules are - no public attacks, keep them behind the scenes?

Rabbitt - in that vein, I'm wondering why the mods stepped in just when they did - what is going on here?

Mods: perhaps more dialogue now will prevent reporting in the future. Things on BCO usually resolve themselves MUCH better when they are hashed out, in my experience. The things that fester are the ones that either take place via PM only, are connected to other sites or were discussed but then reported. So, if anything, some on the record posting might be healthier.

Also, we have surpassed 350 pages on this thread and about 190,000 hits. For better or worse, this thread is a popular watering hole in BCO. We even discuss cancer here, wouldn't you know...and we've been deleted many, many times before, both individually and as a group to absolutely no avail. Transparency is always better.

Caerus...Thanks for the support! I was on Susieq58 new thread last night. It will be a good place to hep/support each other as most threads on this site are.  Yeah, I am choosing to just ignore the insensitivity on the other thread. There's so much fun to be had here. BTW has Bren been banned, too? Has anyone seen her today?

Sandy - I turned red as a lobster from head to toe on that day.  I popped 2 benedryl and got into the bath tub with cold water.  I probably should have gone to the emergency room that night but I was young and dumb back then Laughing  Who would have figured it was the antibiotic because I would think that normally it would only take 24 hours and not days afterwards to have a reaction.

Anybody watching the Casey Anthony trial?

I have admitted to sending PM's.  If you have evidence that I have made personal attacks and innuendo via PM, I'd love to see it.  I posted the only PM I ever sent to you in it's entirety on another thread less than half an hour ago.  It discussed climate in a lighthearted way.

You didn't send that PM to me.  I'm not Canadian.

I see that the pack has chosen to come onto your thread to pick a fight. Understand that they do it all over the boards. Your thread happens to be their current target. You should feel special, they find you exciting.

Blue has a "I say yes, you say no or People are Strange" thread that is their main gathering place. You can always tell when they don't have a good response to a post because they start talking about their dinner menu.

Edited to add:  There's your evidence.

Janice.....I have caught a few bits of the trial here and there. Are you watching? Anything exciting happening? Can't believe they are saying she drowned in the swimming pool. Why did they dispose of her little body instead of calling the authorities? Makes no sense.
