What does the following mean?

Tumor formation score: 3 of 3

Nuclear grade score: 2 of 3

Mitotic score: 1 of 3

Tumor grade 11/111 (score 6/9)

Longest confluent tumor focus measure 0.9 cm

angioloyphatic invatsion: not identified

Microcalcification:: Not identifed

Estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, and HER-2/neu studies: pending, to be reported by addendum  then says:  Estrogen receptor: Positive. and says: Nuclear staing seen in 100% of invasive tumor cells with strong avg. intensity.             Internal control cells are not present.

Progesterone receptor: Positive Nuclear staing seen in 25% of invasive cells with stong avg. intensit.                          Internal control cells are not present.

 The fixative is 10% NBF

I probably gave u too much, but I don't know what to list.

    Hi vickilf,

    Our tumors are graded to see how aggressive thery are from 1-3, 3 being the most aggressive.  They take and score formation, nuclear grade and mitotic scores and evaluate each of them from 1-3, add them up, that is your total score (6 out of 9) then divide by 3 to grade (2 out of 3).  So you don't have the most aggressive form, and it's not the most laid back, you are a grade 2.  Your longest measurement was .09, just under 1 cm, and they did not see any angioloyphatic invasion or calcifications, which is a positive thing.

    Your ER/PR and Her2 will be pending, they are stained for a certain period of time, and then the results are given in an addendum, usually in about 10 days, but they did stain them and the initial looks like you are ER+ PR+ which means your tumor was driven by both estrogen and progesterone. 

    All of that combined means you now know the signature of your tumor.

    ER/PR+ is a good thing because it allows you to be treated with Tamoxifen.  I am also Grade 2 and ER/PR+.  Did they tell you the stage? I would think Stage 1?  If that's the case you caught it early and that is also a good thing!  I am Stage 1 too.

    They did not tell me my stage yet, Doctor said more info after lumpectomy

    mdg what kind of treatment did u have?
