I say yes, you say no, OR People are Strange

I was sure SusanK8 had changed her name because she had posted on the Don't do it thread and suddenly that post had a new name attached.
The moderators replied to my message (asking to reinstate Blue) to them trying to say harassment comes from both sides - I replied that all of you here do not gang up to get people banned and you are all really nice people. Hopefully they'll take notice - they can see who is doing the reporting after all.

Thanks AGAIN to Susieq58 for the NEW THREAD in the Alternative, Complementary Forum
Survivors who had chemo etc and are into Complementary medicine
YEAH - common sense and consideration, and support for getting important information to all of us!
-
Caerus: link not working. Let's see if this works - Topic: Survivors who had chemo etc and are into Complementary medicine
-
Would love to know why the hyperlinks never work the first time I add them to a post. But if I open the post again and edit the hyperlink, then it usually works.
-
Ooops...the hyperlink didn't work for me either. I must've screwed up - an absolute nontechy. But DO GO TO THE thread - it's good!
-
Caerus, it's not your fault. If you click on your link, you will notice that the URL is missing the word forums. Same thing happened to me the first time even though I pasted the URL exactly as I found it. Not sure why this happens but it seems to be happening for some time.
And yes, the thread is good. So many great comments already. Great idea to have that thread. Maybe it will be a solution to all the vindictiveness that's being going on around here the last few days.
-
MaryNY, I've noticed that for years with hyperlinks to other pages on BCO -- I always have to "edit" and then it works the second time! I;ve asked the Mods/Techs about it -- but I guess they have bigger fish to fry!
-
susieq ... what they can see depends on if sock puppets are being used. Nice thread you started!
Sunflowers ... blue's posts have been reinstated so I'm pretty sure she is unbanned. Probably just gone to bed for the night.
Hopefully we can get back to our regularly scheduled good natured goofing around tomorrow
-
My goodness, it's been a busy evening. Once and for all, I wish the reporters of posts were outed for all to see. That's what it will take to stop this craziness. Maybe at some point the Mods will get sick of reinstating people who have been banned for no reason, and put that damned change in. I steadfastly believe that if reporters' names were posted, there would be far less of this sickness.
Blue, you have been banned more than anyone I know. Congratulations! I am proud to know you and have you as leader of the gang! So, as often as you've been banned, you've also been reinstated. So you've just pissed people off and they report for the hell of it. You Adroids (or whatever, I forget!) rock!!
And Bren, I'm with you. Breastcanswers is boring as hell, pure venom still, and actually a little scary that people actual DO think like that. (At least, in the politic threads.)
I'm going to eat some ice cream before I go to bed.
-
Sorry Ladies I had a blonde moment...the report this post disappeared but then it reappeared. Odd.
Good night all thank you for being so welcoming!

Welcome Diane.
Morning all. Hope today is calmer than yesterday.
-
Morning Barbara! I think today will be a better day.
Hope everyone has a great day,
Bren
-
Good morning, everyone!
Diane, perhaps the Moderators are fiddling around with the Report function in the hopes of a new fix? Or maybe restricting newbies' reporting privileges? One can hope.
I had a piece of toast for dinner, and may have one for breakfast. I am improving! Hahaha!

E, glad to hear you are coming around. I so hate stomach viruses.
-
I had gained 5 pounds in Ireland and was so pleased with myself. Now I've lost that plus 2 more. *sigh*
-
I'm sorry to hear you're still feeling sick Enjoyful. I hope you feel better soon.
hugs,
Bren

Welcome Diane
E
So sorry to hear you're still not feeling good. I always gain back the weight I gain when I have the stomach flu, so here's hoping you do too.
-
I'm much better than I was! No worries, Bren. (((Bren)))
-
I hope so too, Rosemary!
-
Night night girls - I'm up too late - damm - work tomorrow. I'll catch up in the morning - we'll see if any trolls visit my new thread
-
Night, Susieq!
-
Night Sue ... I like your new thread. I don't have anything to contribute cause I'm not very healthy, but I am enjoying reading it.
hugs,
Bren
-
'night susie! Hello all. Hillck - can't wait to see any puppy pictures!
(I, like Blue, got banned and unbanned. It's never the people who need to get banned, is it?)
-
Please, please tell us, who are the people who "need to get banned"?
-
Patmom, the ones who need to be banned are the ones who report and won't own up to it. I always say I am reporting and why.
-
So if you report a post that you believe is mean spirited and breaks the rules of this board and don't post about it you deserve to be banned? And no one who has posted that they reported a post has ever been targeted in retaliation, right?
-
INCOMING!!!!!
-
If one is retaliated against for reporting a post in violation of the rules, the mods reinstate them.
-
E - sorry you're still not "up to snuff" - I had a bout with a bad antibiotic six weeks ago and it took a month for me to eat "normally" again. The BRAT diet gets old really quickly but it does work I guess. My PCP has me taking probiotics now and I get to stop them in a week or so - did your dd get better?
Hugs, Sandy

PatMom -
I suspect you're behind a lot of the reported posts and bannings this weekend, all of which, I believe, were reinstated. Obviously, Moderators would not reinstate the posts unless they did not break the rules of the board. If you're not behind any of these things, then my apologies.
As far as being targeted for retaliation, it appears the Moderators now restrict the reporting abilities of those who abuse the function. You should feel perfectly safe now to report, and explain your reasoning.
