The only saving grace with this whole mess is that tomorrow the mods will go through all the reported posts, and they will see who the real troublemakers are. None of the reported posts break the rules of BCO.
Wabbit .. I'm sorry to hear you got reported too.

(((DIDEL))) I'm with you!

Jancie .. I haven't been banned yet. Just reported a few times tonight.
Diane .. I know exactly how you feel. Sending you a big hug. I'm alone most of the time too, and this thread always brings a smile to my face. Love the bantering, jokes and dinner menus!

Good news about Blue's posts being reinstated! Do you think the mods finally caught on that most of the problems occur Friday and Saturday so they are hanging around more?
-
yAY! Justice is prevailing!
-
Well it is good to know the Mods are on the ball. Now if the people who report for no good reason would just go off and play by themselves and leave our friends alone. There will be a potluck at our house at dinner time tomorrow, so I have no idea what I will have.
-
I received an email from the mods stating that they have reinstated my post. Thank you, Moderators. They also said that I would be able to report post again? I didn't realize they had removed that option. I probably have only reported spam in the past, once or twice, so I am not sure why that was taken away too. Anyway, glad my post was reinstated. Once again, thank you to the Moderators!
-
Glad your posts were also reinstated, Blue!
-
I wished during chemo that I had drug company stock. Does that make me an agent of big pharma? (I never bought any).
-
That is the one good thing about these little sprees ... there does always seem to be a moderator around to undo the damage quickly these days.
I'm thankful for that! They really should not have to be spending so much of their time that way though.
-
Britchick -- Besides all the crap that goes on with post reporting, and people using umpteen sock puppets, and nasty pms trying to poison new posters about other posters here, the one thing that really, really bothers me is this: while there is a sincere effort to get rid of spam, there doesn't seem to be the same level of diligence in getting rid of "potentially harmful" information.
The "Don't Do it" thread was a good example. There are others, but that one springs immediately to mind.
Hugs for DiDel!
-
Diane, what a nice post. I hope you'll stick around and post more. It makes me happy to know this thread made you smile.

Totally agree Wabbit.

Looks like one of the sps has changed her name - toosmartforyou used to be SusanK8
-
Welcome Diane! Please don't be afraid to post. The reportings are just a minor annoyance and the mods can quickly take care of it if it happens to you. Don't let such foolishness stop you from posting whatever and whenever you want.
-
(Shaking mane violently, stretching paws, yawing hugely. Looking around. Cubs still there and safe, thank God. Zebra, buffalo, all available. I'm back. It's good to be home.)
Caerus, I'm sorry to see you targeted. I didn't see that you wrote anything reportable, but then it's silly to expect that the reporting be fair.
At this point, I vote that the mods take away people's reporting privileges if they abuse them.
Thank you mods for restoring me. Off to a watering hole in a clearing for a drink with the rest of the pride...
Dinner at a lovely restaurant with family.
-
....now off to see if I can count how many of my posts has been reported. Did you know that one of the reported posts had two words to it? They are reporting two word posts - lol!
Let's see if they report one word posts. I'll let you all know. I am going to write that two-word post in two posts and see if I get reported. The full, King James, 20 volume version of the post can be found in the "Survivors" thread and was written last night quite late. Here goes.
And mods, please, take away these people's reporting privileges. They are not responsible adults.

Athena - I didn't know you got banned too - this is really getting out of hand.
Welcome back

susieq - I noticed the same thing. And I think the new handle is nothing if not a misnomer. Certainly, if you were to go under "Member list" and type in "susank8" the name would no longer appear. But BCO doesn't forget. Here is how you prove a name change:
Go to the top right hand side, under "Log in" and above "Go" and hit "Search"
Type in "susank8"
Hit Enter
You will see all of the susank8 posts come up but with "toosmartforyou" as the poster name.
Off to bed. See you all later - in whatever reincarnation - lol!
-
Thanks Ladies for making me feel welcome! I read this thread a lot but I will definitely post more often. I appreciate the kind words and hugs from everyone!
Diane
-
Welcome from me too Diane! Hope to see you post more often.
-
Hey I just lost my report a post function and I have NEVER reported a post!!
-
Oh no wait...it looks like no one can report my post!! Ok I am good with that!
-
Ok I think I am just being paranoid...sorry
-
Di, you can't report your own post -- at least, not with the same username you used to make that post. (You've figured that out by now, right?)
I can understand the paranoia. Things get pretty weird around here sometimes, especially on the weekends.
Athena, how's your experiment coming along? Any results yet?
Supper tonight was filet mignon grilled over charcoal (dh's contribution), with sweet potato casserole (mine) and a terrific fresh salad (my sister can cook -- who knew???). We are in desperate need of some chocolate, though.

Otter, I'm still watching that e-mail account of mine like a hawk. I will send word as soon as/if something happens. A one-word post reporting would be one for the BCO books, wouldn't it?
-
Hi, DiDel - yes, this is a very nice thread to be on. You might have missed a few pages of really wonderful humour ( a lot of it Canadian) a day or so ago.
I too have been reinstated - and the Moderators do seem to have their hands full. My theory, some folks who are not longer regularly posting on bc.org ( can a person be permanently banned?) are trying to get newer people to attack those who are happy posting here.
I too find it most difficult, as lindasa, to find the moderators allowing dreadfully harmful information to be treated differently from Spam. It's more dangerous that Spam, IMHO.
What do we do to get Blue reinstated?
