Merilee congratulations, I can see the chair is cinders now. Ash to the winds
Annettek what can we do to help pull you out of the pot? would a little olive oil loosen the pot?Would jokes help? Nancy and TL and I got crazy a few pages back. There are some very funny stories I could C&P?
Kmmd-------okay what bloody point are you getting on about, is it ruddy? It just seems bollicked to me
-
Well, Sas, I did say it's my sister's name. No, she's not called Ruddy she's called Randy.
And please, will everyone refrain from reporting this post for questionable language when I translate English to American and tell you that "randy" in England is "horny" in America.
Leah
edited to add: that's why I told my sister to say "I'm Mrs. W" and not "I'm Randy" when introducing herself in England!
-
SAS, I'm not sure where she lives but Dr. McConnell is a professor at UW-Madison.
Kate, I checked out the video you posted in your sig line. LOVE IT - thanks!!!
LOL Leah, I'm wondering if it's better to be Randy in England or Dick in the U.S.?
It's actually chilly here today so I am warming up by the fire this evening.
-
Okay I could not for the life of me come up with Randy. Which reminds me of a story
A dear English friend , new to the states after marrying a serviceman. Was cornered at a basement party by a fella named George. He told her a really sad tale of woe. When they were leaving she was 1/2 way up the steps and turned and said across the room "George keep your pecker up" The room went dead silent. She had no idea until on the way home her husband tells her, that here that mean penis. In England it means chin.
-
yes, randy in australia means just that leah lol..and bl**dy is rather a mild swearword here, but i wasnt sure what is offensive in the US, hence the stars...i must say i like randy as a name, wasnt there a randy on josie and the pussycats 70's cartoon?,when i was a kid i had a paperdoll called randy, he would go on paperdoll 'dates' with my 'josie' paperdoll...i was an odd child...still have my paperdolls, kept them all those years to show my daughter, she was like..."ahhh..wow..." then never looked at them again lol
-
TL you could make a collage with them with some of your growing up pics and hers.
I have a shop sign"_________"
barbershop
We like children
It was found in my Dh' GM's garage after she died in the 80's. My Dh GF died in 1957 @57 of a coronary. I had it framed. DS has been instructed it has to stay with him, His fiancee loves it. So, I think it's safe for another generation. LOL. MY son is not so much into my collecting of old things. My hope rests with her, she listened to all my stories about the stuff with a family history LOL
-
You mean when I say ' Bloody hell" someone might take offense. I learned it from the movies. If it wasn't censored in the movies __I'm talking the old movies from the 60's and before. It can't be that bad Well that's bollixed isn't it. (american spelling) American definition is "to foul up"
-
Tl will you join us tomorrow? About 9 pm est if that becomes the time acceptable to everyone. We will have to come up with some new jokes to help annattek out of her pitty pot. Or maybe just C&P the ones from the other night.
-
Of course some of the things I say, could have been influenced by my canadian moms family. She had a SIL that was a WW2 war bride. What a hoot---sense of humor. The stories she would tell about London during the bombings of the buzz bombs. They wouldn't go into the shelters until the heard the buzz stop. Then there were times they had dance parties in the shelters. They were gutsy strong people.
-
Need a quick joke? Here's one of my faves:
Did you hear about the dyslexic devil worshipper? He sold his soul to Santa.
-
sas- you are already cracking me up:) smiling is a good healer....talking about different terms...the majority of my cousins are from Canada- I was visiting some of them in Winnipeg when I was younger and we were trying to figure out what we wanted to do that evening...one said...let's just go out and get pissed/i thought WTF? I had no idea it meant go get drunk! hahaha
-
Gee... On my way home in the distance I saw smoke...must of come from the chemo chair flames! Congrats Merilee!!!
-
good badger which means he became and elf helping people. If that isn't the antithesis of a devil worshiper , I don't know what is!
-
i have no idea what your 9pm would be here.....if i see you all lounging by the fire i will pop by, thanks...i'll bring my paper doll collection, im sure you would all find it as facinating as my DD did lol...i will be thinking of you SAS, and hope you have lots of fun, and hope annette,jo and everyone else is feeling better.

Here's a short one----- what's the difference between God and doctors?
-
God doesn't like to play Doctor
-
one knows he is god and the other thinks he is?
-
God doesn't think he's a doctor.
-
How many doctors does it take to change a light bulb?
Just one, he holds up his hand and the world revolves around him.
-
Tl If you make a collage put in some of today's characters-------She just doesn't get them cuz she didn't see them on the telly, But if you mix new (the ones she grew up with) and old it will become a treasure
-
One to screw it and 10 to consult the management of how to do it?
EDit That is so true. I was the first nurse on my floor that didn't stand when the doc wanted my chair---Around 74__he kept clearing his throat and I said can I help you Pause---I knew he wanted the chair--------he turned all red--------I said I've got 12-13 charts i'm working on , but there are about four chairs in the back , please return the chart when your done so I can finish. I think I got reported, but it was fun
-
badger - you crack me up with that last joke - way too funny.
Annette - I hope this gets you smiling.
-
Annette I just found some macdamian nut oil that should help- get that pot off your bum and we can use the rest for a salad
-
ooh, I love macadamia nuts, does the oil taste like the nut?
I'm making a coffee cake for a party at work tomorrow.
No nuts but fresh raspberries yummmmmmmm!
-
An easy sauce take raspberry perserves and add tsp of water and stir, let it drip off a spoon like you would test gravy. Learned this trick from a french cook that used SMUCKERS. I was raving about it over chocolate mousse. He finally whispered in my ear PUREED SMUCKERS. --duh fancy french restaurant and the sauce is OTC
-
Are we having a party for Annette (Goat lady)
That pot is very sticky and so difficult to get out.
Annette I'm still climbing up just follow me.
But please don't jump in my pocket I cant carry both of us just hold on to my feet or something.
We all love you.♥
HUGS
