Echoing what Francine said...here to support Michelle

She is on FB so please post to her there too... to bolster support for her. She has a lot on her plate...hubby, kids and kid's activities, work, chemo, fear, stress etc. Time to rally the Warriors and show our support.

Michelle, we are thinking of you and can only imagine how hard this is. Please check in with other ladies on this board. There are many women that are dealing with liver mets...doing well. They will understand the new chemo regimens etc. You are never alone.

Francine, thank you for continuing to support this group...you are the glue!

    Hugs

    Hi Ladies,

I have been going to Breast Cancer camp this week. It is sponsered by my Gilda's Club..Thirteen terrific women doing many great activities together..Oh yes this year they have a few women who have survived other forms of cancer..The camp activites are physical in  nature at times but the experience is great..

Maybe someone could contact Michelle via facebook so we can know how she is doing...

    Hugs to all,

    Francine

I'm in contact with Michelle via FB and I know others are too. I think she has chemo today. I know she knows we are all thinking of her and that she's welcome to come here if she feels it will help her.

    Hi everyone,

Obviously this is hard for me.  I had been so hopeful.  Every time I came to this board and discovered nobody had a recurrence I'd felt bolstered by the idea that we would all be the great success.  And then I had to go and blow it.  You can't begin to imagine how shocked I was, despite all the symptoms.  I was literally dying by the time I got to the hospital.  It's amazing how much better I am in a week.

The hardest thing for me is my kids.  I appreciate your prayers more than you can know, but please include my kids as well.  Allison, who is so impressionable at 16, who wants to be worldly and independent, but often gets lost within herself.  Jason, 14, who is so sensitive and feels everything so deeply.  He's building a joke list so he can try to make me laugh whenever I get sad.  Jonah, my 8-year-old, who ironically seems to have recently been diagnosed with high functioning autism, which I still doubt.  He's poetic and warm, and his feelings are written all across his beautiful face.  He's so strong, and he tells me I can't die, but then he's so honest he admits he'd be embarrassed to be the only one at school without a mom.  They need ME.  My husband will be here for them no matter what, and my sister said she'd move to my town to help out with them.  But I'm truly the only one who understands every little thing about them.  Especially Jonah, with all these IEP meetings and everything.  I know how to advocate for him.  Pray they get to keep me.

I honestly don't know what else to say right now.  Thank you for being here.

    Michelle

    Michelle,

Someone shared this with me and I feel I should share it with you ....

If you're reading this today, and you feel like the end of your rope is now slipping through your hands, please hold on.  God, the Good Shepherd and the Gracious Host, invites you to a feast so lavish that those who wish you harm will look on in wonderment at your favor.  He will refresh you with the oil of His anointing, and your provision will be so great that you will not have room to take them all in.  In your time of distress, you won't have to run after the gifts of His mercy and His goodness because they will literally pursue you.  You will prosper in this life, with the promise of living eternally with Your Heavenly Father, when your days on earth are complete.

Beloved, you will win!  It has already been settled and established.  Be encouraged today with this prayer:

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures.  He leads me beside the still waters.  He restores my soul.  He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

    Michelle,

What absolutely beautiful sentiments you've given us for your children.  I could feel your love for them pouring through those lines so strongly, I'm almost in tears.

I'm praying for you and your kids as often as I can.

    Hang in there my friend.

    Beth

PS - Raymon - beautiful prayer..  And BTW - Michelle, you did NOT blow it!

Oh Michelle... your post was so powerful to me.  But, of course, we will pray not only for you but also for your children!  I'm a firm believer in where two are gathered there He will be as well.  Please know that I firmly believe you WILL get thru this.  We are here for you.

Oh Michelle, of course you did not blow it. Honestly, I feel guilty that you had to be the first one of us to have a recurrence, and I am sure at least some of the others here have felt the same since we heard your news. It's not fair that it should be you,  but then we all know that nothing about the lottery of who gets cancer and who doesn't get it is fair.

Thank God you made it to that hospital and thank God the treatment is showing immediate effects. I know you're being kind to yourself and taking care of yourself. You're important, and you deserve all the love others are showing you and the love and care you show yourself.

Allison, Jason and Jonah are in my prayers, and so is Ken. Yes, they need you, and thank God they have you, and pray God they'll have you many many years yet.

Don't feel pressured to come here, but know that we're all thinking of you and wanting to hear your news whenever you want to share it.

    Hi,

Some good news for our board..

I spent this week at my camp sponsored by Gilda's Club. It was an amazing experience to be with 13  other cancer survivors. Four out of the 13 had other types of cancer. We all bonded so well and were able to share so many feelings and emotions..Can't wait till next summer..

    Hugs,

    Francine

    Michelle,

You did not blow it! I am so thankful that you are feeling better so fast- that is an awesome sign that the chemo is working and is going to blow that mets to bits. (who woulda thought chemo would actually make someone feel better?)

I would never ever want to pick one person to get mets on this board- but you are the last person I would have picked- you are a great mom and you deserve to live more than anyone. I decided a long time ago not to have kids for many reasons, one of the major ones being I didn't feel like I had it in me to be a good mom.  You have shared concerns over your kids with us before and I can tell how much you really love them.

    Michelle,

My thoughts and prayers have been with you and your family.  My heart just aches for you and everything you are going through.  Let's hope the chemo continues to blast away.  You are such an incredible mom, so perceptive about your children.

It's been such a long time since I joined in on this board.   Certainly, I check in occasionally and had just been thrilled with how well everyone was doing.  I speak of this board often , whenever I meet someone recently diagnosed with any type of cancer.  They usually want to know how to cope and how I dealt with it.  I tell them that beyond my immediate family, nothing was more beneficial than this board.  Though you don't hear from me often, I want all of you to know how much you mean to me.

Michelle posted on FB that the chemo seems to be working and that her doctor is very pleased with her progress. Great news, Michelle!

Francine yes it is rather cold here in Melbourne!! But the sun is out today at least.

I'm now on my way to 33 weeks pregnant and still feeling (touch wood) pretty good. Saw the physio this morning about my LE arm and hand: have been seeing her every few weeks all year, and although it is clear the swelling will never completely disappear it does seem not to be getting any worse, which I think is a good outcome in the circumstances. When Schnerbil arrives I know I will need to monitor how much heavy lifting I do. Have bought a cute and fairly light pram as a starter.

    My love to all.

Hugs and love to all of the Warrior princesses!

Prayers for you Michelle, and your DH and lovely children. You all will be in my mind daily, and I hope chemo is kicking this in it's rear end.

Congrats on Shnerbil's progression Rachel. My, it is getting close now! Glad to hear that you are still feeling so well.

Big big hugs to Allison, Jason, and Jonah.

    Hi All,

Popping in to wish you all a fantastic 4th!

I saw Michelle's facebook update as well.  Great news!  Keep fighting the fight Michelle!  We're with you!

Rachel - I'm so excited for you!  Prayers for you as well for an uneventful trip towards delivering your baby!  My lymphedema is about the same as yours.   Always a little bigger than it should be but I know it could be worse so I can live with it.

I have to give a shout out to PattiB and BethP because after seeing their comments about their dragon boat teams, I joined the DC team and I absolutely love it.  We've gone to a couple of festivals and it is phenomenal! FABULOUS! GREAT!.  Last weekend a few of us joined an up and coming team in Baltimore to help them fill their boat for the Baltimore challenge.  We were BAD - Baltimore Annapolis DC Dragons.  All survivors from these three areas.  It was wonderful.  We came in first for the last race and it was so uplifting to see how happy the women whose first time it was  (Dragon Boat Virgins).   So I wanted to thank you both for putting that idea in my mind.  I am loving every minute of it!  And also feeling much better with the workouts!

Francine - sometimes I feel you're the glue that holds this group of women together.  Thanks for keeping the forum alive during the quiet times.

My best to you all and again Michelle!  Great news!!  Fight on!!!

    Beth

Keep kicking it Michelle!  I always know how big Shnerbil is because you are about the same size as my granddaughter!  I'm sure you are getting excited!!

Summer is sailing by.  One more week of summer school and then sleeping in for me!  All is well here.  Doc says numbers continue to be fine.

Sending out hugs to all....big bear hugs!!
