Hi everyone.  My name is Monique, and I was diagnosed with IBC just over a year ago at the age of 38.  I'd had symptoms for months, and just didn't think it was anything to get worked up about.  By the time I saw a doctor, I had a 12cm mass and the cancer had gone through to the skin.  Yikes.  Despite that, my initial bone and CT scans were clear, and I was declared stage IIIb.  Fast forward a year later.  I have enjoyed several months of NED, and am thankful for that.  But have now had persistent pain around my lower rib cage on non-cancer side for over 3 weeks now, and had a bone scan yesterday.  So here I sit waiting for that stinkin' phone call, and not knowing if I'm still NED or if I'm now stage IV.  This is not a fun place to be in this journey, is it?  I'm great at fighting, but NOT waiting!!

So today I must keep myself busy and distracted.  Yeah, right.  I jump every time the darn phone rings!

Looking forward to getting to know some of you IBC sisters!

Hi Monique, I'm an IDC girl but I'd just like to welcome you and tell you that I'm thinking good thougts for your scans to come back clear.  I agree with you though........the waiting room is the hardest place to be.  Good luck!

I'm an IBC sister. Waiting really stinks. I just recently had lots of pain issues, had all the scans. Couldn't find anything. That's good. But don't know why the pain. Just controlling it with Ibuprofen right now. If that doesn't work, them back on steroids. Don't want that. Good Luck to you. Glad you joined us. So sorry you're here. God Bless.

    Hi Monique,

They caught my ibc early, but I was already stage IV with bone mets.  I had 3.5cm idc tumor as well.  Currently doing Femara and zometa.  I had 8 months of chemo & bi-lateral mastectomy after a year being stable.  I know scan time is an anxious time for us.  Praying for good results for you.

Thanks for the warm welcome and best wishes.  I just found out from my doctor that my bone scan is clear.  Thank the Lord!!!  No idea what all this pain is from, but if it's not cancer, then who cares?  Time to party!
