slinky I think many of us have had joint pains of one kind or another. I agree it is a SE of Tamox. I don't understand why docs do not acknowledge some of the SE's. I am glad that you have figured it out, but I would continue talking to your Doc about . My MO put me on liquid glucosomine chrondrointin for the joint pain and it has helped. I take 2 Tablespoons 2 times a day. I am also on 25mg Amyitriptoline for nerve pain but I think it helps the joint pain as well.
June-what a wonderful obituary for your Dad. He was indeed a giant, what a legacy he has left behind. Move over everyone I am jumping in. Oh dang sorry I stepped on your toe Jo I hope it was not the bad one.
-
June ~ I think Shari said it best he was a giant of a man. The obituary was beautifully stated. I know how hard this is, I lost my dad when I was in my early 26 years old 19 years ago. It was sudden and I found it very difficult to deal with the loss ~ he was only 55. There are days I still say crap I have to call my dad. As I would call him almost daily. Remember all the good times you had with your dad and think of the great life he lived and shared with you all. Thinking of you and sending you great big hugs. Love you !
-
June - I've been offline for awhile so just read about your dad now. I'm so sorry for your loss. Reading his obituary brought me to tears as he obviously was a selfless man who gave of himself to his family and his community. What a hero and what a legacy he has left behind. You have so much to be proud of and I'm sure your memories of him and his life will serve you well in the days to come and hopefully bring much comfort, in spite of the pain you are feeling now. Big (((HUGS))) to you . . .

Had my 4 month MO appt today. All went very well and I don't have to go back for 6 months and will be on that schedule for a while. So relieved I get some down time for doctor visits.
Hope everyone is having a good Monday.
-
Jo I am so jealous of you I am on every 3 month MO visits for 2 years then I can go to every 6 months. But really glad your appt went well.
-
Sherry - I almost got up and did a happy dance right there in his office when he told me I was graduating to a 6 month schedule. My DH is also on a 6 month schedule but will be at different times than mine. All I have other than the MO is GP every 3 months and he won't budge on that. It has been this way for abot 10 years.
-
Thats good to hear Jo. I bet its a relief to have some of the appts. down to a few.
-
June - will be sitting on your shoulder singing in your ear at 9am tomorrow...your time! Hugs to you...
Jo - congrat on the 6month appointment!! WHEEAHAA!
-
Jo so glad to hear the good news!!!!! wahoo!!!
At the beach but will be checking in as you ladies are invaluable!!!
Tink
-
I forgot to mention that I go to my gyn tomorrow afternoon to get the results of my hystersocopy D&C I had on the 11th. Will let everyone know what I find out.
-
June - your dad sounds like he was a wonderful man and touched a lot of lives. We will all be with you in spirit when you need us.
-
Jo wear some big pockets in the morning so we can all jump in
-
Good news, Jo. And I had an appt with breast cancer surgeon today; he said I am too healthy for him! What a great way of saying I am doing well and he no longer needs to see me. He will be handing me back to my GP and wished me well. What a great man and a real class act. So glad he was a part of my team and was there when I needed him the most.
June, you are not alone, we are all with you in spirit and prayer and thought.
Sherry, sorry I missed wishing you a Happy Birthday. Hope you had a wonderful day.
take good care, all
-
Teklya - I see my breast surgeon next Tues and I hope he says the same thing to me and it will be my last appt. I think the only reason for this appt is he was the one who sent me to the pain specialist and he wants to hear what the outcome was. I really do love my BS but it is time to say good bye. Good to see you on here again - you have been missed.
Have a Great Day TammiBabes!
-
Jo, congrats on the longer stretch between appts. Something to aspire to. how's the kitchen coming?
Slinky, docs say joint pain isn't a symptom, women say it is. I think it is. I have found omega three pills, drinking lots of water and swimming to be really helpful. Some of it I've just learned to live with and sometimes I take motrin.
Sandee, never congratulated you on your cancerversary (sp?) mine is coming up. Emotional time.
June, thinking about you today.
Anyone think tamoxifen makes you tired? I've been more tired since I went on this little pill and can't figure out if it's stress, the Lupron shots, or tami itself. Hard to get through the day without a nap. I was on a construction site in the very hot sun for a few hours today and now I'm a wet dishrag, but even a day at my desk tires me out. Going to lie down...
Thanks! Shari -
Shari, yes I think tami interfers with our energy.
-
Shari I would think the Lupron shots since they shut down your ovaries all together. Or could be a combinatin of the two
-
Shari - The contractors are in the kitchen right now doing the prep work. When they are finished, I will start painting. Looking forward to getting started. I had to delay this project a year when I found out I had BC.
-
OMG today was the hardest day of my life, but it is now over. Not sure how I feel now that it is all done. I feel so empty! Last nite at the Wake we were all so strong and today we all melted. My kids were with us at the Cemetery and I hope to gosh my son can move forward and not think to much about it as I did not want them at the Cemetery only the Church and reception, but my daughter said she wanted to go to the Cemetary and my husband thought it would be okay. He was a total wreck 3/4 of the way through it and the car ride to the reception. I hope he can forget that scene and only remember the wonderful moments he had with his Papa....he is only 7 almost 8 years old.
-
June my heart breaks for you girl. I am sure your son will be fine. Even though you think it was a bad scene it shows the love that you all felt for your father and he will understand that. ((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))
-
June, can't imagine how you must be feeling. So sorry.
Regarding your son, I learned something about kids and mourning when my mother in law died 18 years ago. Our oldest was then about 6 and I was nervous about how he'd react to the hoards of people at our house during the shiva (Jewish seven days of mourning.) At the end he said, look how many people loved Grandma! I was surprised (but happy) that that's what he got out of it. I imagine that if your son sees so many people deeply pained by your father's death he'll mourn along with them and feel that he had a very special grandpa who was loved by many.
Thanks for sharing with us. Glad you and your siblings have each other.
All the best, shari -
June - I can't imagine how you feel right now but I think your son will bounce back in time. There is a lot of love in your family and its that love that will pull the family together and get past this.
((((JUNE))))
Back from my gyn appt and got the results of my biopsy - WOOHOO its B9!!!! Good to go until next year. One more appt this month - the breast surgeon - and then I am appt free until Sept. It is about time - I am so tired of seeing doctors.
-
June..I am thinking of you anfd your family and JO is right you have so much love in your family you will all pull eachother through this difficult time. Sending lots of love your way!
JO. so excied you are starting your kitchen thats great! and even better that you results were b9!!! wahoo!!!!! celebrating and higging you too!
Hi to all my tammy friends!
-
Tink - Where in the heck have you been? Sure miss you. Maybe we can plan on a pillow fight this weekend?? Haven't had a good one in a long time and I am ready.
-
Teklya- YAY!!!!! Glad you got the 'bum's rush' and are bumped back to the GP!!! CELEBRATE!!
Jo- I will tag along for that appointment tomorrow:) I promise not to miss it as I did my own this morning!
Greenarch-Thank you!!! when is yours??? I have been emotionally wiped out all week since being told it is ok....and close to tears a lot...missedmyphysio appointment with the lymphodema gals (for my shoulder tendonitis thing)....slept right through the appointment....woke up early, checked the time, checked tomake sure the alarm was on and was going to wake me in another 45 minutes and must have actually turned it off....soooooo embarassing. thankfully, they have rescheduled me for July 5th...
June- Was thinking of you today...Now you can rest my friend....As for your son, well.....seeing your parents mourn those they love..being sad...it is all part of he circle of life, hmm? He will be ok. Some sad days for all of you ahead but you will get through. Thinking of you.

Dear June,
A friend sent me this when my brother was dying this past March. It has really helped me and I hope it helps you too.
A Prayer for Bad Times by Richard Cardinal Cushing Dear God, Help me be a good sport in this game of life. I don't ask for an easy place in the lineup. Put me anywhere you need me. I only ask that I can give you 100 percent of everything I have. If all the hard drives seem to come my way, I thank you for the compliment. Help me remember that you never send a player more trouble than he can handle. And, help me, Lord, to accept the bad breaks as part of the game. May I always play on the square, no matter what the others do. Help me study the Book so I'll know the rules. Finally, God, if the natural turn of events goes against me and I'm benched for sickness or old age, help me accept that as part of the game too. Keep me from whimpering that I was framed or that I got a raw deal. And when I finish the final inning, I ask for no laurels. All I want is to believe in my heart that I played as well as I could and that I didn't let you down.Amen.I am keeping you and all my BC sisters in my prayers, for each of you, whatever your needs are today.
-
Sandee - I don't have an appt tomorrow. Had GYN today to get biopsy results - B9. Have BS next week then nothing for 3 months.
-
June ~ hugs to you. It is always the hardest when everyone goes home and the reality of it all hitting you. Give your kids lots of hugs...
JO ~ great news on the b9 ! Thanks be to god.
