I'm so sorry for your loss June. My father passed away last February and it was so hard for all of us. He was suffering from dementia brought on by heart surgery that he had had 3 years prior. A side effect of being put on the heart/lung bypass machine. He eventually came down with pneumonia which accelerated his dementia, and he passed away within a month.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family June. I know you are a strong woman and you'll make it through this difficult time.

June When my dad passed away I was like that didnt sleep for what felt like days... I admitt I had help and had to take my xanax. One step and day at a time. No time limit for this, no wrong way or right way to handle it. It is in your time and your way. Feel how you need to honey, I still miss my dad and it will be 3 years in August. I will say as time goes on and this may be very hard to imagine right now, but as time goes on you will be able to think of your dad and smile and laugh, yes tears too, but you will be able to remember and remember with a smile... in your own time... You have my number use it anytime!!!... One step onr breath at a time! I know the pain is umimaginable right now, give yourself the time you need to grieve .
Love You
Maria

June--Maria put it very well. My Dad died 28 years ago and I was young and I still miss him. I think of my step-dad as my dad because he has been my dad longer than my dad was. My son died 16 years ago and there is not a day goes by that I don't think of him. With both of those losses it was hard at first and sometimes I thought I could not breath because it hurt just too darn much. But eventually I could breath and now I can laugh and tell stories about my son and my Dad without crying. It is a process that you will have to work through your own way. We love you here and are all here for you.

Dear June, I only just found out about your Dad. Just so so sorry. May you and your family be comforted by your memories. We are all thinking of you,
With love,

June - Tink said it very well - one step and one day at a time. My mom passed in 1995 and my dad inn 2001. I still miss them terribly. There are so many things I would have liked to ask my mom but couldn't. You know we will all be with you in your time of sorrow. Hope you have big pockets cuz we are going to fill them. Take your time and grieve in your own way. Just be sure to reach out to us when you need to.
Love You
Jo

June- Don't know which is harder ..the numbness or the tears but they are both coping mechanisms and will see you through the coming days....if you need to take something to sleep, take something. I sang at my dad's funeral...planning it, practising it and then singing to say goodbye to him helped..no way I could have spoken, but I could sing. Do something that will help you through....the ache lasts for quite awhile....I remember not wanting to be touched in any way except by a couple of people..felt it would bruise me somehow....and also felt that the crying would never stop....it will...but while the tears are here, let them fall. They are here for a purpose. We are with you...in pockets,on shoulders and sitting with you, invisible but present.

June, I am so sorry about your father! Fathers and their daughters have a special bond. I know when my father passed away, I was basically in a state of shock for about the first 3 days. I didn't sleep so much as pass out. It has been about 8 years since I lost him, and I can tell you one thing. I feel like he is always around me, and I'm always talking to him. He may be gone, but we're still close. Take care of yourself during this rough time. Big Hugs!

Dear june, if the measure of a man is the legacy he leaves behind, your father was a giant. Thanks for allowing us to read about him. His story made me so happy! He filled a life, it seems, with as much living as he could! Married for 61 years? Children, grandchildren, great grandchildren? Served his country. Became an engineer. And then all those good works. I am so sorry for your loss, june. But your Dad is an example to me of someone who used the gift of life to the fullest. For himself, his family and others. May his memory always be a comfort to you and your family.

Every since I have been on Tamox (4 months), my knees are so painful that I cannot even kneel down. My onc said this is not an SE of Tamox. Well, I am here to say that it is an SE! I stopped taking Tamox one week ago and slowly but surely I have returned to normal range of motion with my knees. I can jump up and kneel all the way down to touch the floor - painfree! While on Tamox, I could not bend at the knees and had to bend at the waist because of the pain/swelling in the knees. I love being painfree in the knees!
-
Shari thank you for your kindness that you wrote. He was and always will be a giant in my eyes and he did live his life to his fullest. Us children were his everything, he truly was an amazing man!
Ready to carry you all along today as I need my sistas to hold me up! I have tried everything to sleep and just cannot!!!

June - Thank you for sharing your dad's story - what an incredible man. We are here for you. I better go get in line so I can jump in your pockets. Thinking of you today - (((HUGS)))
