Hi ladies Keep me in prayer I have my 7th chemo tomorrow after tomorrow only one left Praise God. Congrats Meece what a big boy will be praying all is well.
-
Will keep you in prayer,Ly.Nora.
We have been on th road for 3 1/2 hours. The wind near palm springs is bad and sand blasting the car. 108 more miles and we'll be halfway there.
Ds has been given a pre eva nation warning due to one of the fires. It is 4-6 miles from their house.we may be spending the weekend helping them evacuate. -
Gardners.
I just came in long enough to learn of our losing KK from our midst.
This morning I get "the rest of the story" and see how the circle of life is literally completed for our very edification.
I, too, take comfort from all that has been said on this thread on Elizabeth's behalf. She was a singular, brilliant gift, whose legacy will shine here for a long time to come. Her example of reaching out to others at the beginning, at the cross-roads, at the end is a witness to each of us -- that one life can make all the difference.
I now switch all prayers to our 'shared-grandson' and his making his way into our world, where he is surrounded by love and adoration.
Meecie my dear. Your world has been rocked and rolicked so many countless times in the recent past. I pray that you are given the strength through all of this blessedness to savor the details & allow each sparkling moment to be one of joy, even in the midst of the many unknowns at hand.
You are in the heart of our praying circle, dear Meecie. The very heart of the garden.

Meece, please update us!! I am concerned about fires and lungs and all those things that life revolves around...
We need more pics. Let's see one of Patrick being held by Grandma/Oma/Nana????

Just found out about Elizabeth I cant even talk right now.All I can do is cry.
-
{{{{{{{{{{ Mum }}}}}}}}}}}}}} I know, her death has gutted me. I've taken a leave of absence from work. It will be a medical leave (stress). My heart is broken.
-
Yesterday when I realized KonaKat was Elizabeth, I stopped and cried. I did not know her and we never PMed, but I read her posts and her humor and her care for everyone. She was one of a kind. I thought of her during the day today. This is a horrible disease.

Has anyone had any 'word' from our newest Grannie?
Meecie, if you have a spare minute please send us just a few particulars of this first day.
Know that we are all holding you close in our thoughts & prayers.

Hi all, Meece called me approx 6.5 hours ago, while I was out walking the dog. She is @ her son's home, but distraught as they are in evacuation due to the fire(s) in AZ. When she called me, this is what the status was: 1) Beth (d-i-l) is facing complications from the preclampsia (sp)-her kidneys & possibly gallbladder was having issues specifically 2) BabyBoo Patrick seems to be fine & Beth is nursing him 3) the house situation is tenuous. As we were talking they were either awaiting word of or waiting for a horse trailer to move out some horses. They had managed to get most of the baby stuff out of the house, etc. I got home from my walk, walked over to the computer to come here & post & MY FREAKING POWER WENT OUT-the whole neighborhood. It's now 1:30AM Pacific time & power just came back on. I've been unable to sleep because I sleep with a fan for white noise & the house was dead quiet-----plus I've been stressing about getting word out. Meece requests prayer for all the above & said she is trying to keep her big girl panties hitched up, but needs our party line to God activated.
Ok-I'm going to try to go to sleep now.
-
Meece Congratulations ! on your getting promotion to Grannie. I think now you are in different world with your new borne grandson. He looks so cute.

mom currently at hotel. Dil improved so much they discharged her.all animals at different shelters.
After six hours sleep big girl panties Back on. Posting from phone as we drive back to the house. -
Meece ~ so thankful Beth and baby are well! Will continue to send up prayers for all of you! (((Barbe))) and (((Mum)))!
-
Hooray re: Beth's improvement! I felt sooooooooooooooo bad about not being able to get the word out sooner. I have to say, I felt sorta like the evil one was close by trying to prevent prayer, but it did give me extra incentive to be diligent until I could get on-line! I'm so glad you are all OK.

Hi ladies just want to let you know I will be heading to the beach cottage tomorrow pain or no pain. One week of relaxation and pray no pain from the Taxol. I have only one more left thank God for that. I hope you all have a nice weekend and God Bless you all.
-
I wrote a post mid-afternoon, but see I must have forgotten to hit submit.
In any case, I've been praying through out the day for the whole story.
Meecie? How many pairs of big girl panties do you have? You must buy them by the baker's dozen, cuz you've had more than your fair share of need to hitch 'em up.
Prayers all around the garden.

lynniea-have a wonderful time at the beach!
My friend Julee had her mastectomy today. She had lymph node involvement so a large "fat pad" was removed along with the nodes. her sister is notifying us all via e-mail so I haven't talked with Julee yet, but she had been told the nodes looked "suspicious" after her MRI. Chemo & rads next.
Yay Meece-let's hear more!
-
Thinking of you Linniea and praying you will have a pain-free week at the cottage. God bless you.
Meece, wow so much happening in your world!!! Praying the fire will turn away from your family's home, that you'll be protected.

We were notified that the evacuation was lifted last night, so DH and I spent the night with the new little family. Patrick is actually crying today, he has been so quiet up until now. He is absolutely beautiful. I brought his daddy's baby book to compare, and while the men were out of the house Beth and I read it and Patrick's. We were both in tears. if the men had come in then, they would have thought we were crazy.
The house has lingering odor of smoke, but everything is safe. That's what counts.
I think I should count myself lucky that I am of such interest to "the evil one". I must be on the right track, but when I am in the middle of it, I have been known to melt down a bit, huh Eph?
It is going to be so difficult to leave here in the morning, but they are planning on coming our way in August and leaving Patrick with us for a day while they celebrate their 5th anniversary. Hmmm that is going to be a tough job, but somebody's got to do it.
-
Meece, Thrilled to hear your good news!! Wheh! That was a lot excitment all at one time!
-
Wow! The power of prayer yet again shows us that God is great!
-
So thankful for the update Meese. I've been praying for you and your family and was beginning to get concerned when I didn't see any recent postings.
-
Now, more pics, please!!

HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!
What great news.
Our little WonderBoy (who is now 5) was born early during a pre-eclampsia(sp?) episode of induced labor etc etc, with under-developed lungs as well. He didn't make any sounds at all for at least the first week, except for a strange 'purring' sound -- that I thought was so cute, but they explained was the rattle of his lungs 'over-working'..... in any case, he's sure got plenty of lung power after the first little bit of playing catch-up.
Did they tell you about Kangaroo-pouching? Apparently it's been proven with those pre-term babes that you lay them naked ('cept for diaper) on your totally naked chest: chest to chest, for at least 30 minutes at a time. Something about training them to 'breathe' by their listening to your breathing.
They suggested the more people to volunteer to be a kangaroo, the more times a day, the better. It was THE BEST grandma duty available. I'd sit for hours and play mama-kangaroo.
We then did the same thing for the twins -- even though they baked longer in mama, than the singleton WonderBoy.
I'm sooooooooooo happy that you get to be a part of this first weekend of home coming.
Truly memorable for everyone.
Blessing around the garden.

Huh, I've heard of the pouching but never knew it was for the breathing. I always thought it was for the heart beat.
