Pneumonia just pneumonia?

I've had a terrible cough for about a week and shortness of breath. I'm making an appt. tomorrow am with my primary doc. My question is does mets to lung ever show up as pneumonia? Are there some tests it would be good to have to rule out mets?

    When I had mets to my lung, I had a cough that would not go away for a month and I had tightness across my chest.. I had MRI and PET SCAN done and it showed a small spot on my lung then a biopsy to confirm mets. When do you go to Dr? The only way to know for sure is a biopsy  Please keep us updated... Thinking of you

    Hi Donna,

    Had my appt this afternoon. He said my lungs and symptoms sound like pneumonia. He also took an xray "just to be sure we're not missing anything," which is what I wanted him to do, so glad we were on the same page. He game me some antibiotics and cough syrup with codeine so maybe that will help tonight....
