About hormones

I just read an article which I found interesting, as I try to get all info we find together, and be able to express it clearly. It's mainly about how & why it is important to have a level of 'good' estrogen in your body. Maybe some of you will find your reading worthwile aswell.

Of course I do not want to do any publicity, I remembered the article had some in the end. I just thought it was interesting as it explained the importance of balancing hormones in our bodies!

Carola, thanks for sharing. Interesting article. With recent studies that HRT may not contribute (as much as previously thought) to breast and ovarian cancer (after) a bi-lateral mast and oophrectomy got my attention since this is the treatment I've had and I'm BRCA2+.

I am so very conflicted and emotional right now with "what is the right thing to do for me and my quality of life." I've thought about should I seek bioidentical therapy, don't know - my oncologist said I have no options considering my history and to take over the counter options for dryness. And to make matters more conflicting for me is the article link I've attached below, good news but what does it really mean......

Thanks Lucy for the link, it took me a certain amount of time to get through it though, now I'm much richer in words and jargong! Phew :-D Westiemom, there sure is a looot of info, studies, contradictory ones too, and it's so easy to drown in it all...The article from your link was interesting, and it's great if they find connections but it left me kind of frustrated and hungry for more info; my guess is that they don't really know...It's so strange that first one removes ovaries so as to not have anymore estrogen in the body to 'cause cancer', and then to cope with SE's from menopause they say hey let's go get you some HRT!! I don't know what to think about it all...!
