    OMG you guys.  I just had surgery, it hurts to laugh--pulls on the stitches.  I'm just sitting here holding on to my stomach and laughing out loud. 

    You're right the bonfire is magical.  I do feel a lot better throwing something on it then letting go of the anger

    kmmd - Sending wishes for a speedy recovery.  Use a pillow on the tummy and gently push down when you have to laugh - it doesn't hurt as much.

    Sas- thanks for the info. They had scheduled the MRI for September...I called and insisted on a mammogram for June so it was a year from th elast mammogram...do not want to get out of sync with it and wanted to have some reassurance so I can get on with things...start to plan again....may have backfired but there you go.

    Canadian insiurance is a bit different as is how they run things. If I have cancer again in th eothe rbreast, I will be contacted immediately by my gp and the BC navigator. it is there job to ensure that no more than two weeks goes by between visits of any kind and they did a fantastic job last year.

    As for my insurance...it is my personal ( extra) insurance I am curious about re. travel outside of Canada and my province..but will wait until I know what is going on with the mammogram befor ei pose my questions to a worker...hell, I have not even found time to take my damn snow tires off yet...seriously...i left them on all summer last year. could not be bothered..more important things to contend with.

    I want to throw in this recent turn of events.  I have a feeling that Tamoxifen is to partly blame for this.   BC is really the gift that keeps on giving.

    Yeah Jo, I won't throw in my Tamoxifen, but, will throw in the side effects, and the words of the Onc who told me "it is sssooooo well tolerated."

    Here's one you won't believe...................

    When my husband died my grandchildren  who were very young at the time would come over with my daughters everyday...........

    One day one of my grandsons who was 4 at the time said to me "Nannie, you really miss Poppie don't you"...........I said "yes Joey;, I really do"............... He said with a very sad face, "I know you do, that is why every night when I go to bed I pray for you to "die" so you can be with him in heaven".........................Ok, I was 56 at the time.................missed him, but sure as hell had no interest in going to see him....................out of the mouths of babes....................

    thanks ducky for the laugh..i really needed that today...more then you could ever know.All i have been hearing is bad news and deaths....

    Leah------ you may or may not remember me.  That's life and Nancy and I got crazy the other night --------laugh. The fire just bigger because of the air we were expelling laughing. A&C "who's on first" is such an all time classic. We didn't talk about RED SKELTON, some of his routines OMG. What was the name of the Bum he played in pantomine.????

    Clem Kaddiddlehopper. (I am a Trivial Pursuit champ!). Red Skelton is another one who giggled during his skits - he laughed at his OWN jokes!

    Don't know about rads, the chemo did a number on them.  I've heard some say they had problems with their teeth on Tamoxifen, but I'm not sure if you'd know if it was the tamoxifen or the other treatments.  Whatever the cause it, throw that pain on the fire for sure

    Going to throw in all the SEs of Tamoxifen - the latest SE was responsible for the biopsy I had done yesterday. For those of you who don't know, I had to have a 1.5 cm fibroid tumor biopsied and had to have my uterine lining scraped out it was so thick.

    Boy, it feels good to watch all this crap associated with BC burn.  Feeling so much better and am going to do everything I can to keep it that way.

    Jo, sorry about the tx yesterday, hope for good bx results!

    SAS, that was Flip Wilson, dressed up as Geraldine Jones (the devil made me do it, and what you see is what you get - honey!)

    anyone old enough to have watched Laugh-In?  Anyone's parents forbid them from watching?

    I see it now and think, what was the big deal, but remember they wouldn't let Barbara Eden show her belly button on I Dream of Jeannie, and married couples slept in separate twin beds (Rob & Laura Petrie on the Dick Van Dyke Show).

    Let's throw in most of today's "reality" shows, makes me think we've become a nation of voyeurs.

    Of course I watched Laugh-in! I don't think I've seen anything as consistently funny since then.

    But maybe those "reality" shows belong in the bonfire.

    I remember not being allowed to watch Laugh In. Yep, Rob and Laura Petrie were however the first couple to be shown in bed on TV (even if they were separate beds) and if I remember right, the Brady Bunch was the first show to show two parents together in a double bed.  Hard to be more tame than that show was.

    I'm all for throwing reality TV on the bonfire

    I remember Laugh In.  Loved the show.  Prime time TV was so much better back then.  Today's reality shows are so unrealistic.  I tell you what else I really liked watching was Hee Haw every Saturday night.  Now, that was funny.

    In goes today's reality shows and may they burn a slow death.

    and the Musicals....and the Lawrence Welk show...it was cuddle time on the couch with my mom when that show was on!
