I'm back
It has been a few years since i have been here and you are right, my le is acting up as i just moved and did to much. I never learn but I am not boring that is for sure. I have been wrapping and putting extra padding in my glove. My arm is pretty good and my hand is coming. When it started to swell I had severe pain in my wrist so thought I would get it checked at the E.R. Well guess what!!!!! I couldn't believe it. I have GOUT in my le wrist. Like I said their is nothing boring about me. lol I had to go on indomethacine which got my reflex going. Anyway my wrist feels better and I am trying to resolve this problem. So many newbies.....so sad. take care le hug jinky

Jinky, I've heard about you and seen the wrapping photos. Welcome back.
I'm moving right now, and it is SO hard to limit myself when I'm in the midst of it.
So many newbies, but such smart and proactive and kind women.
Gotta say, gout in a wrist is unusual. For women, pseudogout is more common (gout classically shows up in the great toe), but indocin--that powerful, side effect laden drug--willl take care of both. Did they aspirate crystals or just take an x-ray?

Hi Kira,
Well I had a doctor's appointment today with my family doctor. When I went to the ER I had a different doctor. I asked her about the gout in my wrist and she looked at the rxray. She said I don't have gout in my wrist thank you God. If I hadn't of read your answer to me I wouldn't have question it.Thank you.She did say it is arthritis and I know I have had arthritis in all my joint for years and the moving has got me in pain. Thanks again. le hugs jinky

Jinky, LE hugs back. It just didn't make sense to me--the gout in the wrist business.

Jinky, welcome back, Sister!
For those who've never "met" Jinky before, she was one of the pioneers of the LE board when we first got our own LE forum here at bc.org. She was also a pioneer of how to deal with stubborn hand LE (unfortunately for her, but happily for those of us who learned from her). And she's the one I quote whenever I suggest using masking tape for wrapping. Jinky spear-headed a petition campaign in her Canadian province to provide payment for LE garments, and gave those lymphers in her province recognition and a voice.
Whew!
Anyhow, Jinky, I'm glad it's not gout and I'm sorry it's arthritis, and I sure hope that as you settle in and give it some pampering it'll start to feel well again.
Hugs!!
