Don't have a good feeling about this

So here I am in beautiful Baltimore, going throughout the baseline scans to get into Dr. emens vaccine study. Battery of tests yesterday, including a bone scan. Whoa....lots of post scan questions that I had already answered like whether I was sure I hadn't had any falls recently and three (count 'em) three views of my pelvis. Including one where I sat on the camera ( brings a whole host of dirty jokes to mind but I won't go there). I see Dr Emens today at 10 and am about to jump out of my skin (which given the follow up questions, may not be a bad thing to do were I able:) I had to post because I know you will all understand. So tired of being told; "don't be so negative" or "I'm sure it's nothing". Anyway, I'll keep you posted. Fingers crossed and OFIFTO!! ( one foot in front of the other, preferably in 5" heels)

    Best of luck today!

Even the thought of scans makes my stomach knot, so I can well imagine how stressed you are feeling.

Let us know how it goes.

    Adele,

Oooh, I hope you get into the study!  I assume it's the vaccine to prevent the cancer from returning?

Pooh pooh to the people who think you are being negative or say "I'm sure it's nothing" (though we certainly hope it is nothing).  They have no idea.

    Hang in there!

    Hugs

Yes, we totally get it -- no one understands that worry like we do. Here's hoping it's nothing -- they are probably being extra careful -- and best of luck today. I'll be thinking of you!

Waiting it out with you - just went through "scan week" so I know how tense it can get - just know that there are a bunch of women waiting with you - it helps.  As for thinking negative thoughts - don't you just hate when people say that to you - I always followed the "prepare for the worst, hope for the best" philosophy.

    Hugs,

    Sandy

I guess this is the "nasty negative group" instead of stage III then, because we all do it and we all get it.  Good luck today and let us know.

    Hi sweetie,

(((((HUUUUGGGSSSS))))) and hoping we hear back GOOD news soon.  Cancer and waiting suck!

    Sharon

P.S.  I LOVED your comment about waiting in 5 inch heels.  Have you read Cancer Vixen???

Sat on the camera??  OMG  Nothing good can come out of that!Laughing

Seriously, I agree with Jennifer, just call us the nasty negative group.  Here they are just dredging up all those feeling with the questions and multiple scans.  Your logical brain knows that everything is OK but our emotions have their own life.

Hope it's over soon and you can get started on the trial.

I'm a shoe girl myself - and a negative nelly - so your post really hit home for me.

I'm sitting here in my Louboutins thinking of you and wishing you the best!  Crossed heels it is nothing Smile.

    WAAAHOOOO!!!  GREAT NEWS!

BTW you are a woman after my own heart!  I love fashion (have worked for Nordstrom---shoe heaven---for over 23 years---my husband calls me Imelda Marcos---lol!).  Just wish I had my own pair of Louboutins.

I mentioned the book Cancer Vixen earlier.  If you and any other fashionistas here haven't read it yet, it's a must, although it is VERY graphic literally and figuratively.  The author wrote a graphic novel about her journey through BC while trying to keep her style, and even wearing her designer shoes to chemo.  It does bring up some old feelings so be forewarned.   I wrote the author to thank her for writing the book and she was so gracious to write me back to thank ME for my comments and to wish me well on my journey.  Lovely lady!

    Take care,

    Sharon

    sassy76 -

It would be better if you started a new topic. When you post inside another person's topic then sometimes people don't see what you wrote because they've already read through the topic.

To start a new topic, go to the Stage III forum where you see the list of current topics.  At the top of the page you should see a button that says "Add new topic".  Click on that button and you will be given a place for the title of your topic and another box for you to write your post.  Go ahead and write as much as you want.  Tell us about yourself, your worries, your diagnosis, your treatement -- whatever is on your mind.  Women will read your topic and post replies.

It's good to reach out and we want to hear from you!
