My lumpectomy was three weeks ago for DCIS and it was non invasive and I had a 1cm clear margin so I am feeling very lucky. I do have to have 5 weeks of radiation and today I had fluid aspirated so the BS could get a good picture on a sonogram. Now my breast is smaller than the other one. Has this happened to anyone else? Does is go back to normal?

How much tissue was removed on your lumpectomy?  When I had my excisional biopsy done (which is a lumpectomy but they call it something else until it is diagnosed cancer), they removed 7.5 cm and had no clear margins.  Once all the swelling went down, my breast was noticiably (without clothing on) deformed.  If I had opted for another lumpectomy, to get clear margins, I had been told by my surgeons I would need reconstruction after radiation, as they would have removed a significant portion of my breast.

So yes, I think it is normal for that to happen and I don't think it does go back to normal.

I had calcifications removed, no lump, with 1cm clear margins. No invasion. No nodes removed.

With DCIS most of us never have lumps.  I would talk to your doctor. If you are unhappy with the way your breast look after surgery, and yes they can be disfigured just from a biopsy, depending on the size of the tissue removed.  He can refer you to a plastic surgeon.
