Misszed, I am happy to hear from you!!  I know you are going to do great.  Is there a family member I or someone else on the thread can contact or a way for a member of your family to post about your progress?  If I have to wait a week or so for you to be strong enough to post yourself I will wear holes in the floor pacing!   Just know our prayers will be with you on Friday just as our thoughts and prayers have been with Lori today!

It is 11:30 or so here.  We are in the middle of a terrible thunder storm but are finally getting some badly needed rain.  I am laying in bed wondering how Lori@2hotboobs.com is coming along.  I hope her great new breast mounds are intact and she is resting peacefully!

Everyone is right - we are a great bunch of women and are stronger because we can stick together!

I've had a crazy fun weekend and haven't been on line.  So many having surgery this week!  My thoughts are with everyone.  You're going to be THRILLED with the results!

I went to a pool party on Sunday.  I tried on every baithing suit I own to see what I could get away with.  I finally decided to go "vintage".  I figured it was better to look like a 40's pin-up than to try for the Bo Derrick look.  Anyways, it worked!  The suit hid the dog ears, but showed enough to be sort of sexy.

So, this is me at 9 1/2 weeks out from Stage 1 rocking a baithing suit (with Thurston trying to steal a sip of my mocktail).  Not bad for an almost 50 year old. ;) (And, yes, some of us native Californians are pasty white :) )

c8ndygr1 I too have two weeks to go and 3 preop appts! I am really starting to get nervous though. I am BRCA2+ but am very fortunate to still be cancer free and 51 yrs old. So many in my family have been diagnosed but I am the first one in three generations to be able to do something about it before cancer strikes! Thank goodness I have an awesome husband by my side. I am so happy to have found this site and all you awesome women who have given me strength.

OMG Xray I just read your comments from 6/3 and I am cracking up!!! You are so funny!! I have been feeling the same about not being able to finish all that I need before my surgery on 6/21. I have half killed myself planting the veggies and flowers so that I can enjoy them while I recover!! I hope your surgery went well! I hope by now you are feeling better with a couple of days behind you! I am praying for your comfort!!

notafraid you look fabulous! we have family out there in Ca and when they visit us here in NY we always comment on how white they are.  We just see so little of the sun here in NY that we sit outside and bake and suck in every drop!  My RO nurse tells me to stay out of the sun and I say "sure, whatever!"  BTW I love my tankinis.

Good luck Alexan and Misszed  Get that nasty cancer out of there!

Brenda: you are so funny! You will get that opportunity again. There are positions to use to avoid aggravating the stitiching.(HA Ha)

Carberry: if you have any hair and don't want to wear a wig just get some of that molding gel and create a do. I wore a semi-mohawk for weeks. Everyone loved it, well atleast I did.

I feel sooo sexy at 59, stitches and all. To have the body of a 30 year old again is music to my ears. I just can't stop looking in the mirrow. When I think about how hard I used to have to exercise to achieve this look, and I got it in 1 day, priceless.

Misszed and Alexa don't worry about things that are not done, because there is always something for us women to do, just think of how lovely you are going to be when you wake up.

NotAfraid, you are gorgeous.  I have a pool and I hope that will be me before the summer is out.  How long do you have to wait to go in the pool?  Hopefully, I can before it is time to close it for the season.  Central New York.....

      Girlie Wisdom!

     1.  A friend of mine confused her Valium with her birth control pills... she has 14 kids but she doesn't really care..

    2. One of life's mysteries is how a 2-pound box of chocolates can make a woman gain 5 lbs.

    3. My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves  completely.

    4. The best way to forget your troubles is to wear tight shoes.

    5.  The nice part about living in a small town is that when you don't know what you are doing, someone else does.

    6. The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight,  because by then your body and your fat are really good friends.

    7. Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today...

    8. Sometimes I think I understand everything, and then I regain consciousness.

    9. I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting fire to my panties.

    10.  Amazing! You hang something in your closet, for a while, and it shrinks 2 sizes!

    11.  Skinny people irritate me! Especially when they say things like...'You know sometimes I forget to eat!'.....Now, I've forgotten my address, my mother's maiden name, and my keys, but I have  never forgotten to eat. You have to be a special kind of stupid to forget to eat!

    12.  The trouble with some women is that they get all  excited about nothing -- and then they marry him.

    13. I read this  article that said the typical symptoms of stress are eating too much, impulse buying, and driving  too fast. Are they kidding? That's my idea of a perfect day!

NotAfraid,  one of my dogs likes to be in the pool with me the same way, so it is also good to see that it is ok to have him on you like that.  Nothing like a wet dog to make everything normal...mine are long haired....

Alexan, I am falling out of my chair laughing.  The day before surgery and you are cracking jokes!  Please, please hang with me the day before my surgery!

Mscal, it is so wonderful to hear how happy you are with your new body.  You go girl!!  It is so easy to pick apart every flaw I have.  I hope I have your attitude when I am on the other side.

NotAfraid, go girl!!!  You are a hottie!  And your dog is a real cutie pie!

Nicurn, you are on the 21st with C8ndygrl and Suz39.  That will be a big day!

This new body is sooo far from where I was. 1 breast and having to stuff my bra (yuk) I don't fell that I have any right to complain. I am not going to worry and just be happy with the blessing of not being lopsided any more. Even if stage 2 does not make a perfect match with my original breast, when I die I will have 2 breasts. One lady told me that it wouldn't matter because I would be dead and not know,I told her it is easy for you to say that because you have both of your breasts now, I wonder how you would feel if you lost 1 or both to BC?

You have everything you need, and probably too much. It is better to have and not need than to need and not have.Just remember to stop and do a little walking to keep your blood circulating in your legs. I am so glad for you!

Thanks Alexanjb - my surgery is next week - June 14th. I'm going to use your packing list to confirm my packing list!! I do have to travel to New Orleans from Colorado for mine - so I'm so nervous about forgetting something I will need!  Good wishes for you on your surgery!!

Hey Laura, We will put you on our list to think about too!!  Please be sure to check back with us!  Ladym13 is scheduled for the same day as you.  I have to travel too.  I am going from Florida to South Carolina.  Being gone from home and trying to make sure my pets are taken care of when I am gone is probably causing me more stress than the surgery.  Geez!

    Good Luck!!

Thank you SAMayoFL. I noticed we are both ILC - we are among the few I'm finding. I don't know my stage or grade though - they won't confirm anything until my surgery. I still have so many unknowns.

I do think the traveling for the surgery is one of the hardest parts though (and is keeping my mind off the surgery - thank God). We have dogs too, but luckily my kids (20 and 17) will be with them. But I'm wondering if I don't need someone to watch the kids!! I'm having nightmares of what my house will look like between our two dogs and two kids when we return home and I won't be able to clean anything!! I can leave it totally cleaned but I'm sure it will be a mess when we return.Oh well - I guess I'll get really good at saying 'clean that please'.

Ladym13 - Here is to you! Good wishes on your surgery - I'll be right there 'with' you!!

Hi Ladies: Just got back from my follow-up with my PS. He is very pleased with my progress and is estactic at how well I am doing physically. He is also happy that I am pleased with the way I look. My DD and GD saw me with my wrap dress on today and their mouths just dropped. My DH said you think that you are really hot now don't ya! I said yeaaa I'm too sexy for my own good. I have to pray and ask the Lord to not let me become vain.

Carolyn, you are just a hoot!!  I can just see you prancing around so proud.  Girl, you have earned it.  You have the battle scars and the memories.  You have every right to be proud of your new body!  Keep on sharing that positive news!

mscal02...I LOVE it!!! Good for you, I hope I am as happy with my body after. I am hoping and praying that my tummy looks good, I have a litle flab there let over from two kids...lol...so does that mean that you dont have those dreaded 'dog ears'?

    They are very small

We are only going to go around twice ladies,so let's just be happy with our second chance.

Lady: You are going to be happy, because when you look at yourself now and then again afterwards you can only be happy. I had enough flab for my PS to pick up and put in his hands He used it all or discarded what he did not need..My DD told me that I have a million dollar body. She is swelling my head too! When I look in the mirror, I think of the bride of frankenstien with the scars, but I look so much better than her.My dog ears are very small and not too noticiable, and he said that he would clean up everything at stage 2 and lift my native breast. I don't know if I will be able to stand myself after stage 2 (Haaaaa)

I am glad that DH can relax now that I have been given free reign from the Dr. to get up and get moving. I have got to start working on building my strenght back up. I think I will start my short walk in the morning, probably 30 minutes. I will have to start early because it is so hot and humid here.My stomach seems to be loosening up a little. He had it so taunt when I woke up.

Can't wait for all of us to be on the other side. Maybe we can plan a weekend reunion one day.

MRDRN: I am so glad that you stopped by.

Tomorrow is my 6 months anniversary from BMX/DIEP. Everything looks and feels great. My scars are fading and my tummy is softened up quite a bit without actually getting flabby. The tightness I felt around my chest in the beginning is totally gone (it actually felt like I had a too tight bra on when I didn't have any on). My new boobs have softened up and feel like real boobs even to my DH. Of course I don't have any sensation in my breasts but I can live with that. Just wanted to let you gals know what's in store down the road apiece. Would I do it again? In a heart beat! Good Luck to you all.

    Hi girls,

It's been a while since I've posted.  Looks like a lot of you are doing great and I'm glad to hear and SEE that!  LOVE the pic Notafraid!  AWESOME!

So, I had my first revision from my January DIEP this past Friday and am just starting to feel somewhat normal again.  I have to admit I was REALLY surprised by the amount of pain I had coming home from this compared to the DIEP and the mx, but looking back I do realize I was on a pain pump for at least the first 24 hours (not quite w/the mx).  Friday night was very bad.  I was in tears at 10pm and just about ready to go back to the hospital when my hubby talked me in to taking the Percocet a bit early (I was already taking 2 every 4 hours) to see if it would cut the edge.  Thank God it did, and I have been able to tough out the last few days.

On that note I did have extensive revisions done, both sides lifted so the incisions were both reopened, then tucked under and pulled up, so the implant side is where I am having the most pain.  They did do some lipo of the flanks, but really that has been a non issue as far as pain goes, just some ugly bruising.

Not to thrilled about the lovely compression garment I have to wear for the next 6 weeks (anyone say pool????), but I did get them in black, so I am getting my inner sexy on---lol!

Still need to have nipples done as she was worried that b/c she was doing so much pulling and manuvering of the breast tissue, that once things settled down the nipples wouldn't be in the right spot.  So more to go..........

    Take care all,

    Sharon
