LE appt frequency

After my bmx early last year, I began regular appts with my LE therapist in order to get my LE under control and to learn how to manage myself.  My LE is in the mild range, although I wear compression both day and night or i get very uncomfortable.  I stopped making LE appts around Jan when my schedule got super busy.  I've kept up with my own MLD and I think my LE has been fairly stable.  How frequently would you recommend I see my LE therapist?  I don't want to be stupid, but my time is often at a premium and getting there is tough.

If I'm not flaring, I go every three weeks to a different therapist, just to make sure all is well.  Mostly this works for me.

KC--I no longer go to an LE PT, but I see my wonderful LE LMT twice a month for maintenance MLD.

I have never had maintenance MLD. Is it more intensive than what the therapist usually does during treatment sessions? I have truncal LE, but I sense some stage 0 in my right arm and have learned to do self MLD for that (but rarely do).

In fall of 2009 when I finished the intensive treatment with my therapist, she did recommend monthly maintenance and gave me a list of therapists she trusts to send patients. They are far away, and at the time I was starting myofascial release for my back and implants, and it was too expensive to do both. My LE therapist said it would probably be okay to do only the myofascial if I could only afford one. It turned out that that the myofascial actually helped my LE, which was a nice perk. However, with my extensive implant and back issues, I ended up doing only the myofascial for more than a year until I decided to deconstruct.

Since my implant removal surgery, I have been back with my LE therapist. I will go twice a week for about two more weeks and then will be on my own again. I feel like when I consistently do my MLD that I am able to do it well, except for my back. I would appreciate knowing what these maintenance sessions generally include.

Thanks, kcshreve, for bringing up this topic. I was about to ask since I will soon be flying solo.
