Hi Everyone,

I am looking for a protein powder to add to my blended veggies. Its hard to find one with no soy, no sugar, no artificial sugar etc.. Are there any brands anyone can reccommend? Also has anyone tried Hemp?

Thanks,

E

Hello E, have not tried hemp, but plan to. Am presently using whey. When choosing a protein powder, it's also important to consider the ingredients, i.e. aspartame and co.

Here is a warning about soy protein:

"Most non-organic soy protein is processed with hexane, a petroleum solvent similar to gasoline"

There is a brand called  true protein. It is made with rice protein. I think the website is trueprotein.com

I use organic whey protein from Vital Whey right now, but it's vanilla and probably wouldn't work with your veggies.  I've never used the hemp, but am tempted.  There's another brand someone was telling me about, Garden of Life, it uses sprouted grains as protein and is tasteless.  Have yet to try it though.

I like Lifetime Life's Basics Plant Protein.  It has 22 grams of protein - all vegan.  Comes in berry, vanilla, chocolate, and unsweetened.  You can buy it on Amazon or nutritionjungle.com.

I was using Solgar but I am going back to Precision Engineered Whey Protein which is sold by Vitamin World. It does have soy lecithin but my doctors have told me that is okay, because it is not soy isolate. Plus it is delicious.
