I am coming up to my one year anniversary of being cancer free and I have always wanted to go skydiving. I have already chosen the location and possibly the date but I am concerned about my lymphodema. Has anyone been skydiving that has dealt with lymphodema? I do not have to wear my sleeve everyday and it only bothers me when I try to do too much but I do not want to do anything to make it worse. Any and all suggestions will be apprecated!!!

 THANK YOU!

Good for you!!  I have no experience with sky diving, but like you I don't have to wear my sleeve every day.  When I undertake any unusual activity, I wear my sleeve/gauntlet during the activity and for several hours afterwars, I wrap or use my Tribute sleeve that night, and I take careful measurements for the next couple of days to make sure I didn't trigger a flare.

Have fun!!!  Sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate your cancerversary!!!

Fabulous, Dawn! If you know how to wrap your arm and hand, that would be ideal. If you decide to just use your sleeve (and gauntlet or glove, yes?), and you don't ordinarily wear them, make sure they still fit well before the jump.

We'll all want to hear how it goes, so please do let us know. Go for it!Kiss

There was a previous thread about sky diving, I'll try and bump it.

Thank you everyone for the advise. I have spent most of my life trying to get by and wait for my life to happen. Then I found out about the cancer and I realized that my life is passing me by. There are several things I plan to accomplish so that I am actually LIVING my life!

    Dawn.

My thread was bumped so you can read, but I say GO FOR IT!!!  I did it one year from my diagnosis, and it was awesome.  I am so glad I made the big jump.  I loved it, and so will you!

(No big lymphedema issues, btw.  I wore my sleeve)
