Hi All,
Happy Sunday and thankfully, we've all survived the rapture!
Alyad - As usual your adventure packed emails are a wonder to read. Sounds like you had a great time in more ways than one. All I can think of to say is.. Cool!!!
All - Well, thanks to all the rain we had, the Potomac rose to flood levels which resulted in the DC Dragon Boat festival getting cancelled. They may reschedule in June but nothing's definite yet. I'm bummed.. I'm still a Dragon Boat Race virgin. I was so looking forward to losing it. Oh, well, if the reschedule doesn't work out there's still the practices and I'm signed up for another in Vermont in August. Patience is a virtue as they say....
Have a great day! I'm enjoying all this Sun! whoopee!

Hi Ladies,
BethR..So sorry to hear that your dragon boat race was cancelled. Glad that you have a good attitude and signed up for another.WE have also had so much rain here in NYC.
Dayla..What a wild story. But we all know how much you love your adventures and the wilderness.
Been planting once again between the rain drops. Almost done but need a few more plants .Still healing but feeling well. No complaints ..
BethP..how was your dragon boat race. I will call you this week.
Hugs,
Francine

Beth R..Good luck with your walk tomorrow. I read the book about Susan B. Komen..Very interesting..
Hello to MOB..a fellow Yankee fan..
Yes this board was a blessing for all of us. Support was always there ...

Francine - I read her book also. It was given out at the Komen Race in Philadelphia at the Bank of America booth. I agree, it was interesting.

Hi,
Went today to two celebrations for National Cancer Survivors day. Both were very good with inspirational speakers..Good brunches too.

Francine... HA! I'm STILL upset that we didn't get to meet at the Yankees new place... guess we should've accounted for LOTS of traffic. And, I mean LOTS.
-
MOB,Went to a game at the new Stadium a few weeks ago. Gilda's Club gave my DH and I free tickets. Not great seats but still fun to see the game..As a matter of fact I froze during the game..

Hello all: checking in to read your news is always a delight.
Mom of boys it is so great to see you here! Your photo is gorgeous: I hope all is well with you.
Janine how are you doing?
I know it is nearly summer for all of you and hope you're enjoying the fine weather. Here in Melbourne it is FREEZING (well, what we in Australian coastal areas call freezing) and today it is going to hail.
I am nearly 30 weeks pregnant now, and the Space Turnip is certainly making his presence felt: he is very very active and some times it seems like he is taking running jumps to fling himself against my stomach! LD doesn't believe me, because whenever I try to get him to feel the kicks Schnerbil suddenly calms down, the little sneak. The newly arrived fat stores on my arse and thighs are large enough to feed the average family, so I am hoping that he is a good feeder when he arrives.
Work is really busy: it feels surreal to think that in 3 months I will be awash with nappies etc instead of papers and cases. But a good surreal.
-
Awwww.... the talk of a new life is so special! I am thrilled for you.
Ok, enlighten a little ole Texas girl... what are "nappies"?
-
I think you folks call them "diapers"!!!
-
Hi,
Nappies are diapers.
MOB ..do you know that Tanasha from our board had a baby girl in January..So sweet..
Hot weather here in NYC.
Tomorrow I see my oncologist..I will ask if I can be moved from the three month plan to the six month plan..( really ..I mean visits) .It has been two years since I finished my chemo..My how time flies..
Hugs,
Francine
-
Ok... diapers! I learn something every day.
No, Francine, I did NOT know that. VERY, very blessed...
-
Hi ladies,
Well I saw the oncologist. I have been promoted to every four months. All was fine..Tomorrow I see the PS.
Jan...Nice to have you back on the board...Look on facebook and sometimes Tanasha posts very sweet photos of the baby..
Hugs,
Francine
-
Good news, Francine!
-
Hi All,
MOB...the Yankees are not doing too well...
I went to the PS yesterday. He said my necrosis is healed and will begin the expansion in a month. Then he said that because of the necrosis my breast may not be able to be expanded..We just have to wait and see. No expansion would mean another major lat flap surgery..Yuch!
Warm weather here but they predict a cooler weekend . We here in NYC are waiting for spring..Maybe summer?????????
Hugs,
Francine
-
Oh my, Francine. We hit 100 degrees here yesterday PLUS the humidity factor... supposed to be at least 100 degrees again today.
-
Hi Ladies,
Been so quiet lately..BethP is taking a break for a while..
NYC is so cool today..
Hope all are doing well.
Hugs to all,
Francine
-
Hi everyone!
Hugs Jan and Rachel, so nice to see you!!!! I am feeling your pain with the heat Jan. We have been at or right under 100 F for about a month now, with no relief in sight.
So exciting to hear about Space Turnip Rachel.
Getting close now!!!
Thanks for posting regularly Francine, you are our glue that keeps us together.
There's not much new with me. Just cruising along until next set of scans, etc. I do have some lumps on my "bad" side, but I think they are scar tissue. Will see what my feather-brained onc says at this visit. I am contemplating changing dr's as he is just so blase about everything, it drives me crazy. Mammos/US scheduled for 6/24 and onc 7/13. I REALLY hope I graduate to yearly mammos this time, every 6 months is no fun. And maybe every six months for the onc too, I am still going every 3.
Everyone enjoy your summer!!!
