Waiting is so difficult, but your soreness could definitatly  be from stress, stress does a number on our bodies. I went through the same thing before I had scans. Everything hurt and I was sure cancer was the cause, but my scans came back clear. My situation is a bit different than yours, a later stage, but I do understand the worry while waiting for answers. Weird thing is all my pains went away after I found out I had clear scans! Sending you hugs!

Tresjure I didn't have triple negative but I was grade 3 HER2+ and very fast growing anad really big tumor (about 6.5cm if you include the non-invasive part). They knew it was fast growing even before the biopsy by looking at my past mammos/US.  I had to wait 2 weeks for biopsy, week for results then wait another week for MRI. Finally after the MRI my surgery was scheduled… another 6 week wait. My BS said it might not be in my nodes because he didn't feel anything and MRI showed nothing. I was thinking all this time going by isn't going to help but…

even fast growing cancers don't grow that fast unless its IBC. BTW if you notice I wasn't in my nodes so the extra time made no difference. Even the size was about what they said.

Hang in there. This waiting is tough but at least the got the big sucker out.

I understand how stressful it is to wait but that is not an unusual time between surgeries. Your tumour wasn't large, no LVI and clean margins -- all this bodes well for a good outcome. Stress can do funny things - I had all kinds of aches and pains prior to getting my scans and waiting for results. All for naught. If you can't stop worrying, talk to your onc - maybe he/she can reassure...

tresjure - I am the POSTER QUEEN for thinking my cancer has spread, and with good reason if you look at my stats.  But even 10+ months with cancer in me (still have positive nodes), I don't have any evidence that it has spread.  Unfortunately, we can never truly know if it has spread until we see it, and it is so hard to disregard all of those things that would have just been normal to us before cancer.  But take heart that the bulk of the tumor is out, and your surgery is just a week or so away.  Hugs to you.

tresjure..it is scary..the waiting...but remember you do have that tumor OUT of you.....the oncs always seem to want to wait to "rest" your body and get you prepared for the next thing..and we just want to start chemo/rads..or whatever is planned for us...

Triple negative is aggressive..but maybe a week or so won't make much of a difference.sounds like you have good news.no LVI, good margins...maybe the pain is from your lumpectomy????

Umm..just wondering..why didn't you have your SNL at the time of your lumpectomy?

tresjure - I am so sorry you're going through this.  The pain you're having sounds more like stress related pain.  Try soaking in a hot tub with epsom salts and if possible try not to think about cancer, let you're body relax.

While you're waiting know that the women on these boards are wonderful and we're all here giving you big cyber (((hugs)))).

    Hi Sweetie.

Everyone told me that if it hurt it was not cancer.  Not so.  But you are all on top of it, and are doing all you can.  I had all three procedures in one, less than a week before Christmas.  I didn't like that much, or hearing I was triple negative.

Most of what you are feeling is probably mostly fear.  Until it is all out of you, you won't feel right, so let the surgeon do his or her job and take care of that.  In the meantime, look about and talk to your doctors and see who is a good person to take it from there to see that it does not come back.  You may well need an oncologist and maybe a radiological oncologist too.  Most triple negs do.  Find the best in the area and let them know you are serious about this.

Hi jenn3 and yellowdoglady,i talked to bs he said your not the only women that feels this way after diagnosis.i said why couldnt they do a scan to see if it has spread.his answer was that the cells from the primary tumor are to tiny to be picked up on the scan.still getting twinges here and there, but trying to be positive.youve all helped alot!
