Relief for mild lymphedema

Hi All,

I just wanted to pass on a possible effective way to find relief for mild to moderate edema of the trunk, breast and arm... I have noticed that each time I take a decongestant such as Robitussin DM, the heavy, swollen and aching pain in my arm and breast  is relieved!!  Could it be that the fluid build up, thus pain, is reduced by the decongestant?!?  Just an observation on my part.  Hope it can do the same for others.

:)  Marilee

That is an interesting observation...I may give that a shot...I have very mild lymphedema in my arm.. it.just aches  and is slighty larger than other arm nothing I can't deal with I rub it and do the exercises they gave me ...  the weather seems to affect it so fluid build up and using decongestant makes perfect sense...thanks for the tip.!

Marilee, I take decongestants every day & I don't any difference but if it works for you that's awesome!

ATeamNana, Do you wear a compression sleeve?  Have you learned how to do the manual lypmh drainage?  I do both & learning the MLD has made a big difference.
