ingestion of cannabinoid's -hemp oil for treatment?
Has anyone tried ingesting High content cannabanol hemp oil for cancer treatments? There is quite a bit of New research by the CPMC Hospital Scientist in San Francisco. There is also a video called RUN FROM THE CURE on You tube , a bit less conventional, but the same idea.

Hi LeslieVilla, I was wondering the same. I think it stands to be investigated. Please let me know if you find something out.

i was just told about people using this treatment yesterday!, please research carefully, as i was told of a guy here in australia who ended up in a life threatening situation in hospital, with severe hallucinations...yikes, no thanks...
-
Thanks Leslie,
San Francisco seems to have the most number of oncologists working with patients using medical cannabis or oil. Since a third of the states in the US have legalized medical MJ, the state legislatures are become aware of the hundreds of studies.
There is a list of video links going around. Maybe I can find it. Most people are ignorant of all the research. I know I was.

First let me say that Medical Marajuana is legal here in Michigan but you have to register as a patient. But you do not need to register if your doctor gives you an RX of Dronabinol which is the oil in pill form, I have some and use it for sleep. This has been legal and on the market for some time. There are two basic strains of M Sativa and Indigo.
The sativa gives a mood lift and decreases nausea from chemo and improves appetite. Indigo helps calm down, helps with appetite and sleep. I am reading more and more about M helping to stop recurrence which is why I initially looked into it. I have had 2 recurrence since my first diagnosis.
The Dronibinal does not give a mood life which makes me think it is made from the Indigo strain.

I am looking for the oil. I have to say all medications like the oil has to start off ingesting at a small amount and work up. This is supposedly to help with cancer you need to ingest 80grams. This is to be ingested over a 3 month period for your body to tolerate the amount according to Rick Simpson. If you ingest too much in a short period of time you could have results maybe like the person who landed up in the hospital with severe hallucinations per thats-life post.
I cannot find the video where Rick Simpson says to start out taking a little at a time. I live in rural and the bandwidth to download and play videos can be long and I get errors right now on my dinosour desktop. ugh so please search and listen youtube videos for yourself. Here is his web page. http://phoenixtears.ca/
I found a link on studies done. http://jxb.oxfordjournals.org/content/59/15/4171.full

I do not know any other than what I have been searching on the web lately.
Best of luck to all.
I just found a link that maybe beneficial on dosage.

this is amazing. why are they keeping this from the population

Because anyone can grow it and the drug companies can not get a patent

Hi Ladies,
Interesting too find that others are now looking at this hemp oil treatment, here in england it is illegal to grow or ingest any marijuana, although after studying the Rick Simpson story my friends and family all agreed that growing it and making our own oil would be the way too go if I wanted to give this one a go, so lots of people rallied together to donate (nobody took any money) there most recent grow and my brother and others after taking instruction from the videos made the oil, it is potent no doubt about that and initially I thought it was making me feel very spun out spacey etc, now I must of built up a tolerance its been about 2 and a half months taking 3 rice grain sized bits a day, I have increased the dosage slightly as per rick simpsons instructions, we have found out that the strain you should be using is indica not indigo and the strong strain of that is White Rhino, AK 47 also produce a lot of the THC that is the component that works on the cancer. Obviously I am still going through chemo so wont really know if its the hemp oil or the chemo that is working, I have just had round 3 chemo, after the next round I will be going for a CT scan so we shall see. I think there is something in this stuff, my onocologist knows about the hemp oil and was fine with me taking it, he said a lot of his patients smoke cannabis and has found it helps them with their chemo, I take the oil by ingesting it as smoking it surely cannot be good for you. Although a vapouriser much safer could do you some good (no smoke involved). We have now got hold of the White Rhino strain and are growing it ourselves (not doing too bad either and very very easy really) as I am running out of the first batch, I think this batch will be better as it is the right strain white rhino and type indica of Marijuana. Everybody around me seems to be completely sold on this Hemp Oil as a possible cure or at least something that will stabilize this cancer, when I finish chemo I will be going for it on the diet front I already juice and eat veg and fruit nearly vegetarian diet, by the time I finish chemo I will be fully engaged in the nutritional diet as sponsored by the likes of Kris Carr, yoga and as many complementary treatments as I can possibly afford. We have to try everything and anything in this battle and I am willing to do anything try anything if it gives me a better chance.
Any new news about this hemp oil i will keep you informed also of how I develop using the hemp oil.
Love and light to you all

Thanks for the correction you are right it is indica not indigo. That is the one that makes you sleepy. Are you taking it at bed time?
-
Hey Merilee,
I take about 2 grains of rice in the morning (I tend to get up very early 5 or 6am so take it then) then 2 more grains of rice in the evening say around 7.30 or 8pm, I'm always fall asleep infront of the tv by about 9.30pm. So far I havent had any really bad SE from the chemo, a few minor ones but nothing too bad so maybe the hemp is working its magic already. Lets hope its working.
How are you finding the Hemp Oil??
-
Wow...super interesting. I had heard about this...my nephew is a pharma researcher and told me to get a rx for marinol during chemo for nausea. He spoke of the other benefits, but I fairly ignored him. I will keep following this thread.
Sarah Sweety...hugs and white light to you!! You are on the right path. I love Kris Carr. She makes a terrible situation seem manageable in the most positive manner. Her website is super fun too. I have all her books, then give them away with The Anti Cancer book as friends sadly get diagnosed.
Who knows what really works. I agree that it's a complex disease that should be attacked from lots of angles. I know that when I don't make my veggie juice I am dragging by the nighttime. I just finished my dry brushing she recommends and I even have my little meditation area set up in my room. Whatever works, right?!? -
geewhiz, my friend told me about dry brushing. I am going to get one and do this too. I did get a lymphatic drainage massage on Thursday. I cannot tell you how much a I am still benefiting from this. I just had the upper body worked on too.
I am going to go at l least once a month maybe 2 times. I also know there is a big difference between synthetic and the real stuff.
http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=6635 I just found this link today.
I will post another page of links. You decide for yourselves.

Compelling. Can my onc write a prescription? I don't need to add jail time onto my issue list, lol.
I saw you can order seeds, but good grief I have 3 young kids and live in a neatly manicured subdivision.....I don't really have a place to start farming!! Looks like you need 2lbs to get the amount of hemp oil you need? That's crazy. -
Any doc right now can write an rx for Dronibinol yes.
The other stuff you have to apply to the state ( if your state is participating) for a card and then yo can buy it from a caregiver which you can find in the shops that you see around.
Any of the local shops can help you apply, they have all the forms and usually will have a doctor who will sign for you. Cancer is an automatic qualification, at least here in Michigan.
-
Hey Geewhiz and Pil, thanks for all the links its all very very positive.
geewhiz - You need about a 1lb of bud to make enough oil to last for about 2 months, its got to be bud cause thats the bit that contains the THC (white crystals collect on buds) which is the cancer fighting part, at least its not illegal in america or parts of america, over here in england they would prosecute us, throw the rule book at us, crazy crazy crazy!!!!! Obviously I dont care what they try and do to me it cant be any worse than what I have had too endure since I got diagnosed with this terrifying disease, so stuff the authorities and the police. Its all about healing getting healthy living your life, enjoying the rest of your life and remaining positive. All my friends including my family have every bit of faith in this, so do I, as well as eating fresh juice everyday and generally eating healthier, especially as I am HER2+ so I'm watching out for anything with extra hormone eostrogen in it.
Just for the record I am not a druggie or a stoner, I am a fighter and a warrior for the unknown I think all of us affected by this disease are lone warriors, cause it seems to be indiscriminate about who it chooses to affect, there is no right or wrong, everyones cancer is individual to themselves and thus needs treating as such, so whatever works or as john lennon once said "whatever gets you through the night".
Keep fighting luv and hugs to you all.

I am finding out cannabis oil I believe is different from hemp oil.. I remember reading this so I wanted to pass it along.. want the oil that come from the leaves. I know I can go to california or oregon with my medical records and diagnoses and can get this from the shop. BUt I hear its very expensive like $1000 an ounce. Thats so high I could not afford it.
In addition to eating anti cancer foods I am going to purchase some essiac herbs.
-
Ok, so is it the buds or leaves? I have a friend with a medical marijuana card, not that I certainly can't get one, but they are willing to buy whatever I ask for...it all sounds nuts. It comes also in vanilla wafer cookies, tootsie rolls. Blech. I'd like to know what I am getting is medicinal. And $1k an ounce...geez!!! And I think I remember reading if you have gone through chemo and radiation you need to do it for 6 months, and 1oz gets you through 3 months.
This was on the...dare I say it...DR Oz show...as medicinally valid. Andrew Weil is also a proponent and Montel Wiliams, a ms sufferer, also used it for his condition with amazing results. I'm interested...just not sure how to go about it. -
I made some calls to some medical dispensaries in other states. It seems that a tincture is the way to go. Breathing it in via a vaporizer, is the most direct and I think the highest cannibinoid yield. BUT it's not easy to control how much you are getting. A sublingual tincture, or some edible is processed by the liver and therefore slower acting. More is needed to dose than dried plant. It also changes the cannibinoid receptors a bit. Good Lord, the things we do!!!
-
$1000/oz? OMG, it's just a weed! I told my son we should go to California and start our own pot farm - I don't have much of a green thumb but I can grow weeds!
Wow, I wish I had a friend in California. I have a cousin that lives there, but he's a lawyer and it's probably illegal to ship out of state, so I guess I can forget about that idea.
But I'm still not clear on this - do you make the oil from the buds or the leaves? Pil, where did you hear it's got to come from the leaves? Also, I bought some essaic tea - I thought it wouldn't hurt to drink that two times a day, but my oncologist - who's Indian - said she thinks it does more harm than good. So, I guess I won't do it.
sarahsweety - you're so lucky you have so many helping/supporting you with this. I would have to figure it out on my own. How do you even find the indica seeds? And I wonder how you know they're indica...
If only the government would just legalize the whole plant and sell it themselves! It would be nice to have it regulated and easily attainable. But, in the meantime, we just have to soldier on ourselves and try to discern what's what from so much information.
Speaking of which, a while back someone - who is not a bc patient - was trying to post about medicinal benefits of marijuana and she noticed I had started a thread about it once before. She sent me many, many links. If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll send them to you.
-
Heartnsoul - I am really really lucky with all the support I have with this, being an artist I had smoked pot whilst at college and all my friends are artistic pot seems to lend itself to the artistic community, my friends grow it for their own use to smoke it and have been doing so for many many years, due to this they have an indepth knowledge of the subject and know all about the different varieties and strains hence them getting me the right sort of indica plants. I dont need to know which strain it is I am lucky in that my friends will make sure its the right strain. The indica plant grows stocky and short and bushy whereas the other strain grows long, tall and leggy. My brother made me the first pot of oil and used whatever he could get ie: donations from friends etc, the next batch is going to be made from definate indica strain, we obtained the plants from a experienced grower who knows his pot! using only the buds that are laden with crystals (white crystals on buds). Most of this information can be found on the rick simpson website. Obviously it costs alot (although rick simpson was giving it away for free until they busted him) which is why we have gone down the grow and make your own route.
As far as Essiac tea if I could get it in england I would def take it cant seem to find anywhere and obviously the herbs used in the tea come from canada, we dont have the same herbs here. Essiac tea has been recommended by lots of people and there must be something in it, so if you feel you want to try a simple tea to help yourself I would do it. I think you have to go with whatever you feel drawn towards, and listen to your intuition to guide you. Personally I am drawn towards the plant approach using food ie; juicing, hemp oil, essiac tea or green tea.
Geewhiz - A vapouriser is the best route and one I will be getting one when I have enough money to buy one, they are not cheap and I am not making any money at the moment which is a nightmare cause all you want to do it fight it by whatever means possible.
Love and light to you all

I see a lot of references to Rick Simpson and cancer "cure" claims for cannabis. It's important to distinguish between factual evidence and hyped-up claims. As far as I understand (and please correct me if I'm wrong), cannabis has been shown scientifically to be beneficial in treating symptoms of cancer or side effects of cancer treatment (nausea, anxiety, sleep problems, appetite loss, etc), but not for treating/curing cancer itself.
What makes Rick Simpson credible? Is there real scientific evidence that cancer itself can be cured or treated with cannabis, cannabinoids, hemp oil, etc?
To be clear, I'm most certainly not anti-cannabis. In fact, I live in a legalized MMJ state and wouldn't hesitate to try it if needed. However, I'd want to be sure I had realistic expectations about what it can and can't do.
-
Hi thenewme,
I started a thread a while back about the benefits of marijuana to cancer patients. This link has a lot of information about the different ways medical cannabis affects cancer.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medical_cannabis
And here's a link to the old thread with more information:
-
Hey sarahsweety! Yes, you are perfectly set up for this, you lucky girl! Thanks for describing what the plant and buds should look like. It does cost a lot, though, but hopefully I can look into trying this within the next year. It seems like I have more money going out than coming in right now. Like somebody said, it's hard to buy what you need to help your health when you can't work because you feel bad! Plus, I'm probably a little impatient - I want to feel better yesterday! But, my doctor said sometimes it takes a while to get back to 100% after chemo so I just have to keep reminding myself of that everyday and doing what I can in the meantime. Soon....soon....
-
thenewme - Hi yes I agree realistic expectations about what cannabis can and cant do, everyone around me is absolutely sold on this Rick Simpson, I too have watched all the videos on youtube, basically I think you have to believe in something and all my support around me totally believe they have researched it, they know their subject intimately (they all smoke pot and none of them have cancer) Ironically I'm the only one that does not smoke!!!!
heartnsoul76 - Hi and if you need anymore info just google Rick Simpson and watch those youtube videos (especially the one where they are topically treating skin cancer and you can visibly see the lumps dissolving!!) It is hard on us I'm not working at the moment and its a nightmare, my boyfriend is supporting me but only just we can only just manage to survive on what he earns and not a lot else hence the reason we have had to try making the stuff ourselves and obviously we live in england where its illegal, but hey what are they gonna do to me!!! I really dont care anymore about any of that, its about getting better, healing and above all else living.
Love and light to you

I did read one study in Pub med saying that it has been shown to prevent matastes.
It is also good for the depression that comes with this diagnosis and treatment, helps with appetite, and then sleep. Mood lift-hungry-sleep. Three things I seem to need right now
Also excelent on Nausea.
And being the nature nut that I am, I like that it is plant based. Just a note, In Michigan you can register as a medicinal user, receive a card and then buy from clinics that are overseen by a physician. So you do know what you are getting. The cost here is $ a gram which goes a very long way if you are using 1-3 puffs a dose, which is plenty. Any more than that you are going to feel very high which is not fun. The clinics also have the equipment to use to make sure you get the small doses, as well as things to use to light it with so that you are not breathing in any buetain (?) from a lighter.

I'm an old hippie and have been literally smoking MJ since I was 13 on a regular basis and am now 53. Occasionally I quit for a year or two for jobs. I was diagnosed with breast CA in 2007 and the tumor, in retrospect, was present in 2004's mammogram.
Much to everyone's surprise, KI-67 was 0.05% and my tumor was described as "practically indolent." I have had no children. ER positive. Her2neu negative. I am not able to say I smoked marijuana in medical setting due to insurance fears but I feel it is worthy of noting on this forum and wonder if there are any other life-long smokers whose tumor was inactive. I was also a melatonin consumer, 1-3 mg a night for years.
-
I am exploring this option since the effexor I was taking (which worked well for about a year for hot flashes and mild depression) was now making me incredibly anxious and depressed. MMJ is legal in this state (CO), but it was interesting that my oncologist was not willing to write a recommendation for it -- she said she only writes recommendations if you are stage IV. And she said that it didn't seem like a long-term solution. Meanwhile, she and other doctors are suggesting i just switch to paxil or another similar drug. The list of side effects from those sorts of drugs are extensive, whereas MMJ seems relatively benign, if you are careful with the dosage, as you should be with any drug.
I can't smoke it, but have heard the vaporizers are a good option. Anyone have experience with those? I may have missed it in a posting above.
