    Hello Ladies

I have been batteling an issue that was thought to be IBC, however after 2 rounds of biopsies at Fox Chase it turns out to be a condition called Scleroderma/Morphea.  This condition mimmics IBC clinically and is very rare, they say a complication due to radiation.

Has anyone had experience with this complication? My breast is very hard, like in a shell, still pitted like an orange, painful and getting smaller due to the hardening.  I seen a rheumatologist today however he had no answers as i didnt have underlying scleroderma in other parts of my body to trigger this condition in my breast.  If anyone has anything to share re this subject I would appreciate it.

    Thanks

I have this condition - although it has not progressed as far as yours. I was referred to a dermatologist who as such is very familiar with morphia. I started out having injections in the breast - every 6 weeks, which  improved the condition. I had two rounds of that and it seemed much better - then "acted up" again. I just had another round of injections - we'll see. He does have alternative drugs to take orally but I don't want to go there - yet.

So - I'd try a dermatologist. Good Luck; you must be terribly uncomfortable.

Just a question about morphea -- does it present at all pathologically with lots of fat necrosis and fibrosis ??   I have a lot of that, with also a lot of hardness in the breast and discoloring -- and I've been given 1200 mg of Trental and Vitamin E and it hasn't really helped much .  The DX I got is Severe Radiation Fibrosis and I keep asking if there is anything else to help it get any better and I keep getting told that there isn't.  Just wondering...........
