Lump on lower arm and tender spot (lump?) on breast

Options

I am in the middel of my chemotherapy treatment, (3 done, 5 to go).

Now I have a tender area on the same breast as the cancer was (surgery in january and march), 2 cm from the scar, it feels kind of like a new lump.

In addition I have a tender lump on the lower arm on the same side.

Of course I am scared, and thinking metastases.

Now I am wondering if this is similar to anyones else experience?

Thanks in advance Embarassed

Hello Kine - Take a deep breath!  Since your surgery was recent, it sounds like maybe scar tissue is forming, that can be very lumpy and bumpy.  And if you have a tender lump in your arm, that may be a lymph node, they took several from you and this may be the new first node that your breast is draining into.  All of that would be considered normal, but for your own peace of mind, just have the doctor check on it, and if you don't have an appointment soon, call them to have it checked.  I have heard of girls finding new lumps during treatment, but it is very rare, so please try to go easy on yourself and not be too anxious.  Let me know how it comes out.

Thank you so much for your answer, I will try to take a deep breath Smile

Regarding scar tissue, could this occur at other places in the breast than the visible scar?

The scar is a line starting from under the arm, ending a bit on to the breast, the lump is 2-3 cm from the end of the scar, continuing the same line.

Yes, it can occur parallel to the scar, or around it.  As long as it is following the scar line I would still think it was scar tissue, but it doesn't hurt to have the expert hands of your doctor reassure you.  I have lots of scars and the scar tissue forms in all different places on each one, sometimes next to it, sometimes under it.  Keep breathing!
