 Hi

My name is Cheryl,I am 64 and have had calcifications for yrs. I had a stereotactic biopsy on 5/2 that showed low grade DCIS in 2 areas in the tissue and in the calcifications.

On 5/9 I had 2 more core needle biopsies. Both show IDC Grade 2, ER & PR 95 % strongly positive. Left lower outer quadrant mass solid and cribriform types low grade with associated microcalcifications. Left breast periareolar mass  does not say type on report.

Had an MRI on Monday and surgeon says the  LLQ tumor is much larger than she thought and it looks like it goes up to the chest wall.Several nodes look suspicious. Also the right breast has a rounded area that is probably a benign cyst;I'm having an ultrasound of that next Tuesday. Will also have labs done that day.

Will be having a PET scan as soon as it can be scheduled.

Has anyone here had the cancer up to the chest wall?

Hi, Cheryl ~ I haven't had your experience, but I thought I'd stop and bump your thread for you.  Since it's kind of late, you might want to bump it again yourself in the a.m. if necessary, because for some reason it's slipped through the cracks until now and may again overnight.

But welcome to BCO.  I'm glad you've found us!    Deanna

My ILC tumor went right up to the chest wall (although the MRI had shown chest wall invasion, which turned out not to be the case), and I had PLCIS in the pectoral muscle. I had a lumpectomy and the surgeon took out some pectoral muscle to get clean margins. My radiation included a boost to the chest wall.

That was almost four years ago, and I've been fine since.
