Thank you all for your kind words of support.  We are "settled in" for the night at a hotel near the Indianapolis airport.  Mom is playing computer slots, DH is watching a Disney movie and I'm here surfing the net, making my usual rounds on various blog sites.  Tomorrow we will drive to Pittsburgh so DH can do a customer presentation on Tuesday.  Poor thing, he's trying to fulfill work obligations in the middle of all this.

Tif - I was much more emotional than I expected as we left Missouri this morning.  It's the people, of course.  We had 17 years' worth of co-workers (I worked at Sprint and Embarq), friends and neighbors.  It's the longest I've ever lived anywhere in my entire life!  Facebook, Skype, blogs, cell phones - all will help us keep in touch with everyone.

Suze - I am seeing  Dr. Wendy Chen at DF.  Then I'll get treatment at the satellite clinic in Londonderry, NH.  At least I think that will be the plan.  And the sooner it starts, the sooner it's over.  You ALL know what I mean!

Hope everyone had a beautiful Mother's Day!

It's been a busy few days.  We made it to my daughter's on Wednesday, moved my mom into her new facility on Friday (accompanied by a lot of tears although she has since adapted well), went to see our new home today and negotiated a lease deal on our house in Missouri.  Whew!!!  And when I got back to my daughter's house, she had unpacked the wardrobe boxes and put the clothes on hangers, put jeans in drawers, etc...kind of like what I did on Friday for my mom...lol.  And she did my laundry!  That was a nice surprise!

Our new place is even better than we thought...there is 900 sq ft of patio, not decking, and it's stamped concrete so it's really beautiful.  And the house has way more storage than we were expecting, so it will be easier for DH to just get everything packed without worrying about trying to decide what to get rid of before moving.   There's a full attic to store stuff.  So I can take my time deciding on what goes/what stays.  And my kids can take whatever they might like that would be useful for them.

My daughter reminds me that the easy stuff is done, now it will be time to tackle the real work.  I have two doctor appointments this week - the onco at Dana Farber and the plastic surgeon at Brigham & Women's.  I expect I'll be doing chemo in a couple of weeks at the latest.

Michelle, glad to hear things are moving along well for you! My husband has a lot of contacts at Sprint- he works for Black and Veatch. I too was happy with moving from KC to Harrisonville, but I cried like a baby when I had to say goodbye to all my neighbors! I can only imagine how hard it is to move clear to NH! I hope your appts. go smoothly this week and you get a plan of attack in place!

    Best wishes,

    Tiffany

Met with my PS at Brigham & Women's today.  Nice guy, didn't spend much time with me but I got a fill and will go back in 3 weeks for the next round.  He said my TE's were not what they use here...regional differences, I suppose.

Tomorrow is the big day - oncologist appointment at Dana Farber which should result in my treatment plan.  Hoping to get started soon, so that it can be over sooner.  Can't say I'm looking forward to it.  But it must be done.

    Ok, I'm back!

We get the keys to our lake house on Monday.  We are moving in on Friday and Saturday.

I'm getting my port placed on Monday 6/13, chemo training and a MUGA scan on Tuesday and chemo starts on Wednesday.

The time has flown by and so many things have happened in less than 3 months.  I can hardly believe that we pulled off finding a place for my mom and us, leasing out our home in Missouri, getting my mom moved in and settled, and now getting ourselves moved in next weekend.

Talk about a whirlwind!!!  I hope chemo is not rough on me, because I haven't had much time to breathe in the last three months and I could use a mental and physical break.

Thanks, ladies.  I drove to our new place today and just hung out on the patio, spent a while talking to my new neighbors.  They seem really nice and have 3 kids about the same age as my grandkids.  I really wanted to just plop a chair down and sit a while.  Tomorrow I am going with my daughter and grandkids, we'll get the keys and officially claim the place.  I have the most important things to put in the fridge - some water and diet coke.   There's well water, not sure how I'm going to like that.  And I bought toilet paper...lol...just in case there isn't any left behind.

The landlord has been so nice...he even left behind a Rubbermaid storage bin full of sand toys for my grandkids.

DH is loading the truck tomorrow and will leave Missouri on Tuesday. I hope everything fits!

    This all seems so right!
