Medicare and Xgeva

Options

I have been taking Xgeva shots for a few months now.  My health insurance has been covering the shots so far.  However, in the near future I will be going on Medicare and cannot find out about the coverage.  If there is anyone out there who is on Medicare and getting Xgeva shots, can you tell me if the shots are covered, and if so, are they covered by Part B or part D (Drug).  Thank You.

I googled xgeva+medicacare allowable and found this page that may be helpful.

    http://2010ccrnewsletter.com/?p=57

In a chart on the page it discusses xgeva among others that are "pass through drugs" and how they reimburse if they are administered in certain settings.

You could also check with your Dr's office insurance specialist.  Surely they know.

Thanks Liane for the help.  That website was very informative (not only for Xgeva but for many other drugs).  I guess I just missed it in my search.  You are right that the Dr's office should know, but getting this type of information from my provider has been very difficult so far.
