if an MRI is a better screening tool than a mammo, why have the mammo ? just had both scheduled and thinking finances

    So call them and tell them where you are at and you only want to have the MRI done cause of your finances. See if that is possible unless you are on insurance and they require it. They have their so called prodecols

    susan- it's my understanding that some things can be better seen by mammo and some by MRI.  If I had to choose, I'd pick the MRI.

    I guess I will just go ahead and do both like Doc ordered, mammo is only on unaffected breast, MRI is both, wonder if mammo will be 1/2 price !  lol hubby will be retiring in 2 years, trying to save and prepare
