Has anyone worked with a naturopathic doc in the Dallas area that they would recommend?

I read the Anti-Cancer book and am interested in meeting with a naturopath to see what they might recommend as an adjuvant therapy to my chemo and BLMX and future tamoxifen.

Anyone who has worked with one other places, feel free to chime in on your experience as well.  I'm igathering info at this point, so the more the merrier.

Try a google search to find one in your area.   I met with one in my area for consulation on my supplements, eating etc.  It was very helpful.   I did ask if she had experience in working with BC patients and she did.

    Good luck with your search!

Barbara, if no one comes along with a specific recommendation, the book, Beating Cancer With Nutrition by Patrick Quillin, PhD, RD, CNS and former VP of Nutrition for the Cancer Centers of America, has an appendix that lists "Doctors Using Nutrition As Part of Their Medical Practice."  The list includes MDs, NDs and DOs, listed by zip code, and I see there are at least 10 in Dallas proper.  If you don't have access to the book (which is very good, by the way) if you want to PM me your zip code, I can give you a few names, but I would have no way of knowing anything about them beyond the fact that they're on Quillin's list.    Deanna

And there is this team of naturopathic oncologists, at the Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center of Seattle:

Too far for many of us, what a pity.....

    Supersally,

I do think it is important to work with someone who specialises in cancer.  Your local BC support service should be able to recommend a suitable practitioner. (That's how I connected with my naturopath).

I wish you the best of luck with your treatment.

I see a holistic MD and I met with him before chemo and have a follow up appt to discuss next steps next month.  I will keep you posted as I figure out what we do moving forward.  I was seeing him before my dx and was on some things based on my body's needs.  He did give me some things to take during chemo but my med onc said to wait.  I know he plans to do a complete blood panel again on my next appt.   They draw about 8 vials of blood and check everything.  They also do hair samples and test that.  I will see what he says after my post chemo eval.

    Barbara,

I would try Dr. Joseph Mc Wherter. He wrote the book Avoiding Breast Cancer and lives in Dallas. A DCIS friend I met on these boards goes to him and it sounds like he is doing some really good things with BC prevention. She is a physical trainer and has her own website at : http://www.well-quest.org/

    Best,

I know this is an old post but wonder if anyone did find anyone in Dallas they were pleased with as a balance &/or alternative to conventional treatment post-BMX particularly regarding AI's? Thanks.
